  2. August 26th at 6pm Classes & Events
  3. Hello I'm also in Arlington. I hear Mansfield Methodist has a support group meeting a few times a week. There next meeting is August 26th at 6pm at Mansfield Methodist
  4. I'm having Single Incision lapband on August 16th. Can anyone tell me how soon where you able to return to work?
  5. I got a date approximately one week after approval. I was told it could take up to two weeks which I felt was absolutely ridiculous. My suggestion, call and ask if they can schedule you Asap. I emailed and called several times and I think that sped up the scheduling process.
  6. That's ridiculous to say you feel sorry for her, it's actually a little rude. Instead of feeling sorry for her, pray for her or offer her your support.
  7. Ladies, I love and support all of you. Whether you do or don't have support from your husband, your success is up to you. Find support from someone else, I support all of you because I know you need the surgery, not want the surgery, but need it and I know all of you will be succesful. Thankfully my mother supports me 100% my husband 90% (after months of non-support he finally changed his mind about the surgery, still really doesn't talk about it too much). I don't support everything he does 100%, that's life and that's marriage. We as women need to stop being so dependent on these men and learn to support each other instead of judging each other. I decided when I started this journey I was going full force with or without his support. After months of trying to talk to him about it and he trying to convince me that I don't need surgery I decided that I was going to do it without out him because this is something I have to do. Now he thinks that I should go ahead and do it. I'm happy he's on board, but I really don't need him to be. Again good luck to all of you ladies and God Bless you
  8. I received mine in the mail within 3 business days after it was submitted. I called and found out I was approved 2 days after submittal
  9. I'm preparing to be banded on August 16 and have seen several posts especially today about bandsters not feeling restriction until several months after surgery. Was this true for you? When did you actually start feeling restriction? And what did you do in the mean time?
  10. It's you child alright? Did she have to have any stitches? I hope she is ok. You need to get rid of that dog, Next time that dog is going to hurt you or one of your family members severely and you will be sorry. The dog has already shown the propensity for violence There is no debate about who takes priority an animal or a human. This is a no brainier. I too have a dog (110lb pure bred German Shepherd) and a small child. If he even looked at my son cross-eyed I would take him out.
  11. Thank, you hang in as well. I went to a seminar in December 2009 and am having surgery 8 months later. Boy that was a long process, but now I can say it was truly work the wait. I didn't have to do any of the tests you mentioned. Good luck to you
  12. Congrats to you, I remember seeing post when you were waiting for approval. My question to you is how were you able to do the pre-surgery diet, with only a few days notice before your surgery? Yes, I am always nice to the staff at my doctors office, honestly they are absolutely wonderful, I couldn't ask for a better group of people to help me through this.I just have this one, tiny problem with the date. In fact when I emailed the nurse yesterday, I reiterated that I didn't want to be rude, I just wanted some clarification. Good idea and stalking, that sounds funny. I actually haven't spoken to the nurse in months, we correspond through email, so I'll be using email to stalk her daily.
  13. Hey hutch&marleysmama, it' been a long week for me as well, sorry for biting your head off I was pissed that day. I'm normally nice. Anyway the date has been moved to August 16, still hoping for something earlier. Good luck with your insurance-approval process.
  14. Praying for you, hoping you denial will turn into an appeal quickly.
  15. First it was scheduled for August 30th my new surgery date is August 16th. I'm hoping something opens up before them. Regardless I'm superduper duper excited.
  16. Awesomness, that is so great congrats!!!!
  17. So how many days do you plan to take off from work? How many sick days does your school you? We get a limited number so I'm extremely hesitant to use them at the beginning of the year.

  19. My date has tentatively changed to August 30th to the 16th. I report back to school on August 16th. That date is too late as well, but I took it. Pray for me I just need an earlier date and I'll be set. I asked the nurse via email, she didn't bother to call me, to call me if an earlier dates becomes available. But like Honk suggested I will call periodically to ask if any one has cancelled and if any earlier dates are available.
  20. Thanks ok813 for the speedy reply, I know you are busy. That's great to hear that you were kept on a 15lb restriction. It's great because you are not expected to gain a huge amount of weight and it makes it even easier to lose the weight after the baby is born. My family is so confused and being banded and having a baby. They ask how can I have a baby with the lapband. My first pregnancy was less than ideal because i gained so much weight. Hopefully the second pregnancy will be a more enjoyable experience of course after I get banded and lose the weight. If you don't mind me asking, are you breastfeeding? You were like 15 months out after surgery. Was this intentionally or did it take you a while to get pregnant? I'm hoping to get conceive 10-12 months after I'm banded.
  21. Thanks Honk, great advice. I'll ask about that when I speak with the nurse today and I be sure the keep in constant, contact with them. I already do and I'm sure they are sick of me.
  22. Yes you are right my health is my primary concern. But hopefully they can more the surgery date up. If not August 30th it is. We are only three days apart. When do you start your pre-op diet?
  23. I'm so happy you understand what I'm talking about. I called my doctors office this morning and left a message for the nurse who does scheduling to call me back. Hopefully by some miracle they can push the date up. We only get a limited number of sick days for the entire year, I hate to have to use they during the first month of school. Good luck with you surgery. When do you start your pre-op diet?
  24. Congratulation, what a great post. I want to have another child after I'm banded a lose a few pounds. I have so many questions for you ok813. Did you get an unfill? Where you eating the larger portions because of the pregnancy. How did the band affect your pregnancy?
