  1. I agree with Kris. I told several people including a couple of coworkers who have been banded, and now I wish I hadn't told so many people. My reason is that just when I got my band filled to where it was really working, I found out I was pregnant (Feb. 10) and had to have all my fluid removed about a week later. I lost right at 20 lbs before I found out I was pregnant. I miscarried March 25. I had to start all over with my fills on May 3. I gained 10 lbs while I was pregnant, so I've had lapband 6 months with a total of 10 lbs lost! Argh!!! The other lady I work with had her surgery 9 months ago and has dropped 80 lbs. So I feel like a failure at work around those people that know. So I wish I had only told my family. Good luck!

I'm learning that it is different for everybody. I'm frustrated to hear that everybody's dr (except mine) seems to add more cc at a single fill. I was banded 4 months when I was finally up to 5.75. At least you are losing. Don't be so hard on yourself. Maybe you could increase your exercise?!
  3. Such an inspiring story. Congratulations!
  4. I'm looking for support locally too. Have you been able to find it? How many cc do they give you each time you had a fill? Seems like they are slower at filling the band than other doctors I've seen on the forums here.
  5. Hi Amy, I live in Moultrie also. I was banded in 9/24/11. Have you met your goal yet?
  6. Feeling frustrated! I got banded 9/24/10, and I lost 23 lbs by 1/10. I got a fill in Jan. which took me to 5.75 cc and I could really tell the band was starting to work more for me. I fiinally felt like it was tight enough to really start dropping the weight. The following week I found out I was pregnant. I kept the fill for about 2 weeks until I was throwing up too much due to morning sickness. All of my fluid was removed. 2 weeks ago I miscarried. Now I don't have a baby on the way and my port is empty. Not only have a gained some weight since the fill was removed, I've got to start all over with fills. My doctor only fills in .25 - 1 cc increments so it will take several months to get my band back where I wanted it. My appointment for my fill is May 4.
