  1. I'm just gonna ask... Anyone else have intestinal issues since surgery? Gas, where there was none before. Lack of time or warning before the feeling of "having to go" hits you like a ton of bricks, etc??? I NEVER had these types of issues before surgery, ever. I'm not sure what to do or say about it... is there anything to do or say about it? Or is it just a side effect of losing all this weight? *In my Ben Stein voice* - Anybody???....Anybody??? lol
  2. Congratulations!
  3. YAY YOU!!! Funny part is that lady is probably signing up for extra jazzercise classes, not knowing what you're doing LOL.. but I feel you on the NSVs cause the scale isn't moving..well actually I wouldn't know because I didn't go to the Dr's yesterday - which is pretty much the ONLY time I weigh myself.. guess I'll just rely on the scale at the gym. But I was able to buy shirts at Target yesterday which for me is a BIG deal, their dresses I could fit on a normal basis but their shirts and t-shirts were NOT happening... I bought one yesterday in rush and it fit great so YAY for losing inches!
  4. That's what I heard today! LOL - it was like music to my ears. As the rest of the group chimed in on how much I'm losing. YAY ME - YAY MY BAND... Have I mentioned how much I love my band? lol I went to feed the homeless this morning and one of my staff members from church walked right past me - then stopped drew back with a stunned expression and said "Oh HIIII" I just said hi back and went on about what I was doing. Then later at choir practice, the same lady was said "I'm sorry about early, you're losing so much weight I almost didn't recognize you." Then the rest of the ladies chimed in as well... HAPPY DAY!!! HAPPY ME...HAPPY BAND! YAY FOR MY BAND!

  6. I skipped my fill yesterday due to unforeseen circumstances but I think it's all just as well - I'm feeling lots of restriction today... I drink pineapple juice alot anyways. Now I'll have to try it in the event I get stuck again
  7. Smashburger 1- Lapband 0 UGH I haven't been stuck or had an episode since the first week - today is my 3 month anniversary - wow I sound like the annoying desperate girl who counts every day in a relationship lol - anyways I decided to grab a smashburger (if you haven't had one - TRY IT - SOOOOO GOOD) for dinner. I was in a hurry and multitasking and evidently ate too fast or didn't chew enough because OMGOSH... STUCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK. Trying to be good I didn't order a drink with my meal, just the burger, no fries or anything. Man let me tell ya I couldn't get to the nearest drink fast enough.. OMGoodness... Thankfully I wasn't THAT stuck, to the point a drink didn't help.. I have a fill tomorrow scheduled for tomorrow as well, but after this lil' epidose ummm yeah we'll have to see lol.

  9. Thank you so much.. I've been banded 3 months today.
  10. You can fight it and win, easily - continue your appointments, use ankle weights if need be. This is why my dr told me to be sure not to lose more than 10lbs during the approval process. Call and talk to a rapid resolution specialist - they're there to help you fight your appeal and push it through.

I would run, and run fast.. Like I said on your page, this does not sound remotely safe at all! I would drive a lil' further if it were me.
  13. Special menu request cards - work like a charm! Well except for those places that want to charge kids by the pound then i'm in TROUBLE LMBO!
  14. Oh and I felt "ok" by day 4 - went to work. By day 5 or 6 I was 100%
  15. Karen I would do it again a heartbeat! Best thing I EVER did for myself.

lol CONGRATULATIONS!!! I was just telling my BFF about some of these NSVs - how some you just can't share with everybody but I definitely feel you on these! Keep up the good work you're looking great!
  17. Can I just put it out there how happy I am that when I get on the scale it no longer has to be moved to the 300 mark...that it can start at 250 and I'm almost to the point of it being able to start at 200...lil' things make me happy. I went to the gym yesterday and had to weigh in for a training session and for the first time in a long time I didn't have to tell them "Keep going" as they adjusted the weight lol... YAY ME! I love my band!

Is your wife overweight? Is she not losing? Have you ignored her for periods of time and now because you feel better and want some lovin' she's not sure how to take it? There's lots of unknown factors here for anyone to give you advice but I will say this... you say you've tried everything.. but have you tried talking to her? Have you tried telling her how beautiful she is to you? How much you desire her, how glad you are she's your wife? With women sex is emotional, not just physical. Foreplay for us is an all day thing - treat her like a queen for a day, see how hot your night gets.

how funny.. I just posted a blog called "eff the scale" because that's how I'm feeling. But I can totally relate to you, at 330lbs at my first appointment for WLS the staff was like but you're so pretty, you don't need it. Patients in the waiting room thought I was post-op, by the way I was put together. I like you would be completely happy being a size 14-18 and don't care about being "skinny" just "healthy" and I'm taking credit for LL's saying... I told him that before he said it on that show at an industry party a few months prior -where they (the security) weren't letting girls of my size in to the VIP regardless if we were supposed to be there or not...When I got in he made a comment about I was a refreshing sight to see in the sea of size 6's and I said that's because I'm size sexy... (true story lol) - I have another one about him I'll share when appropriate, but he's a beautiful man inside and out with lots of love for us plus size girls his wife is a blessed woman! But getting back to you my dear - don't fret! Men ALWAYS lose quicker than women and you could very well be hormonal, or your body hasn't gone into ketosis yet (the point where you're burning fat) it can sometimes take awhile to jumpstart. Especially if you haven't shocked your system into it. I would suggest cutting out all whites (flour, salt, sugar, starch) for a few days and see how you do, or do a water fast for 24 hours to jumpstart the weightloss process. How close are you to surgery?
  21. I am not the person who obsesses and stresses over the scale, never really have been. In fact I don't weigh myself unless I'm going for a fill appointment. But I won't lie, the entire 12-24 hours before my appointment I stress out. Omgoodness did I lose? What have I eaten since my last appointment? Ugh I shouldn't of had those.. I do all these stressing just to go and realize that YES I have lost weight (even if it's just 7lbs in a month - it's still a loss, even if it were just 1 or 2.. I'm GOOD with that) but I've come to realize that honestly NONE of that matters to me. It's the NSVs or Non-scale victories that matter most to me. When I see random people from my past and they can't get over how great I look. When I go to put on clothes and they're literally falling off me. When I put on something that was tight or didn't fit and it's now loose on me. That's what matters. When I look in the mirror and I like what I see. When I look in the mirror and actually SEE parts of me that I hadn't seen in awhile because it was covered with a roll. When I look in the mirror and there's definition and tones in muscles and legs, defined waist, stomach getting smaller, my incision sites coming closer together as my stomach and fat shrinks. That I have more energy. Can cross my legs, walk miles, run and play with kids for hours, have a "healthy glow" about me.. That *I* am getting healthy, completely healthy for ME. That's what I care about. That's the result I'm looking for. So in light of all of that.. EFF THE SCALE!

I'm so glad to see this B! Glad you're seeing in yourself what the rest of us see!
  24. My deliverer...he can deliver you from anything - yes even late night snacking. I personally have found solace in cottage cheese and peaches - high in protein and it satisfies my "sweet tooth" - The protein shakes with real fruit are lovely too... I make mine almost like a milkshake the thick fage yogurt blended with ice and agave nectar gives it the same consistancy.
