  1. Oh thanks so much for your post. I was banded last April and was too getting discouraged with my weight loss with many of the same feelings you were having. I also just began to really feel restriction and am beginning to lose weight. Thanks for sharing.
  2. Sorry to hear that you are having trouble. I hope everything is resolved and you'll be able to get back to your old self. I have no words of wisdom but wish you well.
  3. You express your feelings so well and thank you for sharing your first years journey. I certainly is an inspiration to hear. Happy bandiversary!!!!!!!

  5. Great post. I can't wait to get to the place you are right now. Certainly I am eating very differently and feeling very differently but am not yet where you are with food. Thanks for the inspirational post.

I am so sure you will be fine. Keep us posted during your recovery. I found ice chips were my best friend directly after surgery. Looking foward to your next post.

  8. Oh how I remember how good those ice chips were. Your are doing so well and are an inspiration. Thanks for sharing
  9. Congratulations to you. I am very frustrated today and reading your story has lifted my spirits. You are doing so well.
  10. I love your menu. Can I come to your house for dinner? Good luck with your new restriction - your doing great.
  11. At 2:30 today I had my first fill and am so excited. My weight loss since my fill has been slow - but you know they say slow and steady wins the race. The fill itself was pretty uneventfull and went very quickly with just a pinch of pain. I am still tracking my food carefully and plan on keeping it up. I've lost a total of 9 lbs since surgery and am going to keep a positive attitude and do the best I can every day without discouragement. Gonna pick up the pace on getting moving. Thanks for all your support guys. 1st visit with Dr - 260 lbs Shot up to 275 in between Day of surgery 258 Day of first fill 249
  12. Wow, what an inspirational post. I am now so excited about the possibility of have enough energy to do half of what you have been able to do. Great job. Thanks for sharing.

Since I havent had much luck losing weight I have basically been on Atkins because it is so easy to follow. I can't fool myself into having a taste of something that is clearly on the no list. I can only stay on for a week or so, but find it helpful when I know I will be tempted by going to a party or function. I usually start a few days before so I am in full swing by the time the event comes around. We are worth the effort and I also need to remind myself of that daily. Good luck, your doing great.

How exciting for you. I know how you are feeling as I am waiting to have my fill next Tuesday. Good luck, keep us posted.
  15. Visited your blog and am looking foward to keeping in touch.
  16. Thank goodness for this site and all the info I get. I have not lost much weight since being banded about a month ago but I am not discouraged. I followed Doctors orders exactly and have been on about 1000 calories a day. For the last week I have been on Atkins trying to shake things up in my body. I just don't loose weight easily and now that I'm over 50 it's nearly impossible. I have been walking about a mile a day, surely not enough exercise. Next week is my first fill and I am so excited. I know this is what I need to reduce my intake and am very optomistic that I will begin to see progress. I feel completely healed and ready for the next step.
  17. Great job!! I was also wondering how you were doing and am so glad to hear your doing well. Your blog was one I was following when I was first considering getting banded so I have to thank you for all your sharing. Keep up the good work and visit back once in a while.
  18. I am right where you are. No help from the band right now and of course wondering as you are if the pouch is stretched. I am guessing we're fine but have to wait for our fill. Mine is June seventh. Good luck, stay strong, keep us posted.
  19. Hello - Banded on April 26th. I'm healing well but started getting slight pain in the area of my port when I woke up this morning. I am so dissapointed in my weight loss. I have been eating about 800 calories a day keeping track on my fitness pal. I have only lost 5 lbs since surgery. I am walking a little, but am doing no other exercise. I hope my fill will help (june 7th). I guess I need to eat even less than 800 calories and exercise. I just thought I would have lost a little more by now.

I know exactly how you feel. I don't know if I would have made the decision to get banded without first having read all the posts I found here. I feel truly blessed to have this place to come to every day.
  21. Congrats Sounds like your right on track. Each day will get a little better and in a week or so you'll be back to yourself. Take it easy for now.
  22. I'm really starting to feel like myself now, with the exception of the pain I have on my left side after I "eat" something that goes right up my side into my neck. I haven't been having the 6 full liquid meals that I am supposed to be having instead I am having more like 3. Today I am going to try to get all 6 in. So far I have had a greek yogurt and instant breakfast light. For some reason I thought the weight would be falling off, but it isn't. I have lost about 6 lbs since my surgery and I think in part it is due to the fact that I haven't been getting all my protein in. I have gone to the boardwalk to walk only 2 times this week. I am going to see if DH wants to go after he gets home from work. I miss having him home all day with me. I'll be heading back to work next Monday after my Dr appointment and clearance to return to work. Monday also brings my to my mushy stage. I am a little apprehensive about that because I will start to eat real food and am afraid that I will again make poor choices. I am going to try to commit to logging all my food, hopefully here. One of the reasons for this is not only to make myself accountable for my actions, but to help others on their journeys. Have a nice day to all.

  24. Hi again to all - I was banded one week and 2 days ago. I am feeling amazingly well, still on full liquids. I have lost the 8 pounds that I gained from water weight and 8 more (real) pounds which is really great for me. Good luck to all.
  25. Thanks for sharing again. I read one of your posts a while ago and read up on the HCG. I am so glad you stuck to it and it really paid off. I can only imagine that that last 20 has to be the toughest. Hang in there - keep up the good work.
