What Age were you when Banded or if you're considering Banding?

What Age were you when Banded or if you're considering Banding?
I was banded a year ago at the age of 57. I reached goal within the year. I was so pleased about the new body that I have just had a complete face life, a surgery which is much more taxing for the body to go through by the way.

Help How do you know if your port is infected? I have Pain and some swelling..
Yep, the fact that it is hot to the touch along with the pain and tenderness to the touch would seem to signify that you have an infection going on. I would see a doc ASAP in order to get yourself onto antibiotics. You definitely don't want to end up with an abcess. Maybe you should stop by your local hospital considering that we are at the start of the weekend. Good luck.

How is weight loss for people over 50?
I like playing mah jongg on the computer. I can get really adicted to this. Same thing goes for Scrabble and Boggle. I don't play well with others, though; I am too impatient! Nice to see you back, DynamoMini.

Tlbc Bash
Well, it sure was great to meet all the on-line folks in Real Time. And I met some very nice people who don't live on-line at all, something which an addict like moi finds very odd. I bet their houses are much cleaner than my own dump! :girl_hug: It was a fun party. And someone gave me an extra drinks ticket. How cool is that? :clap2:

crazy pets
Yah, I am another cat woman. All of the cats which I have had have been second-hand kitties. In fact I make it a point of taking in adult cats only as kittens are cute and will find homes more easily. At the moment we are down to one cat, a stray who came knocking on our front door for two nights in a row. She was quite petite when we took her in, an orange and white domestic short hair, and so I named her Little Orange. Now she is Big Orange and still remains half-wild. We have had the cat neutered but were talked out of having her declawed, a big mistake, I think, for she is not only a biter she is also a grrl who loves to claw. It is never much fun to watch her dangling from our curtains or velcroed to the side of our bed. She is also, and this is likely a holdover from her life on the streets, a real garbage maven. We have bought her many cat toys but she finds her favourite toys by snouting about in our garbage cans. She will haul out such gross items as used Q-tips out of the waste paper bins and carry them around the house. Her biggie fave as toy boxes go was the kitchen garbage. It sure was gross finding the contents of this spread all over the floor and we had to put a lid, a tight one, on it. She is also in the habit of knocking all things which were on tables or countertops onto the floor, watching 'em smash, and sometimes she gnaws on them as well. My iPod earphones have her teethmarks. Still, in her weird and grudging fashion she seems to be quite fond of us. And she gives good purr. She is sitting behind the monitor right now, as is her custom while I surf. This habit is only kinda cute; as soon as she grows bored she will try to throw my pens, papers, and bottles of vitamins off my desk. She has also recently developed the weird custom of sleeping under the covers when I am in bed. Again, this is adorable until she decides to bite my feet. :phanvan

I really, REALLY want to strangle them.
Way back when I was young and working in my first career incarnation I used to be an undergraduate admissions counsellor for a well-known and respected Canadian university. The people I dealt with were those who were not among the current crop of Ontario highschool graduates. This meant I routinely reviewed students holding foreign qualifications in terms of their eligibility to our programmes. All students whose first language was not English and who had not previously completed qualifying studies in English were required to successfully pass a test showing that they are proficient in the English language. The situation which Wasa ran into would never have happened at this university. We also required all students to have a strong academic background with high grades. This is how it should be, I think. Academics aren't for everybody. A democratic and egalitarian society should mean that everyone of equal ability is given an equal chance; it does not mean that everyone has equal ability. Short, chubby, elderly women do not expect to have careers as models, do they? Why then should mediocre students expect to be given university degrees? I have a suggestion for you, Laurend. Perhaps you might prepare some sort of statement as to what university is all about and what your expectations will be with respect to the academic performance of your students. You might read this to them during your first session with them, ask them if they have any questions which they would like to raise, and then send a printed copy home with each and everyone of them. Then when they start to whine you can shut them up by referring to The Statement. :heh:

Spanking
I have just finished skimming through some of the above listed websites. They are very interesting and make compelling arguments against spanking as a method of discipline. Thanks for posting them, Steph.

Who have you had enough of ??
I dunno why but I keep thinking that there might be a Baptist joke buried in all of this material. One with the punchline "but it might lead to dancing......." :heh: I guess I am being haunted by the ghosts of jokes past. :car: Weird, eh. And, lindata, it sure is nice having anutha lucky Canucky around.

Which embarrasses you more?
A sylph, a slender graceful woman or girl (according to one of the meanings of my copy of the Oxford English Dictionary). :biggrin1: Pretty nice, eh?

In need of Blog/Journal Website suggestion
There are a few LBT folk who keep on-line blogs but the only name which I can remember at the moment is Chickie. Why don't you PM her for some advice? You should also read her blog. The address is available in her signature. I believe Losingjustme also keep a blog, as does Darragha. Okay, that is 3 names that I remember. PM these folks after you have read their blogs in order to obtain info as to how to set up your own. By the way, I think that this is a fantastic idea. Good luck to you.

Do you call yourself fat
I used to use the fat-word. Whenever I was shopping for clothes I would ask the saleshelp where the size Fat clothes were. :faint: I figured that I was fat and that I needed clothes and that was the plain and tragic truth. If the saleshelp wanted to get embarassed on my behalf, let 'em, I thought. It wasn't my problem. Buying clothes that fit and that I liked was my problem. I used to find these encounters quite amusing, to tell you the truth. :heh:

Which embarrasses you more?
I was called a sylph yesterday by an old friend who hadn't seen me for awhile. I did enjoy this and was pleased when he repeated it later during the course of our visit.

Spanking
It strikes me that spanking is different than beating. Giving a little kid an open-handed swat on the butt when all else fails to get the kid's attention is quite different from systematically beating him with some sort of tool or using one's fists. And swatting someone across the butt is entirely different from swatting him across the face. A law like this should be complete with definitions, I figure.

Bitches
I've worked with women when I had an office gig and worked with men when I was building airplanes and I much prefer working with men.
