  1. Congrats< you have been on along journey, but your time is near. Best wishes! Karen..aka..kll724
  2. sharpie, nice pictures, congrats and Merry Christmas!
  3. Just a quick NSV from a few years ago, before lapband, I sat in the same position as my hubby, way back with tummy rubbed by steering wheel. Now, I sit almost as close as possible where my skinny d-i-l sits or my short daughter sits. It is great!!
  4. Can't advice anything further than what Missy already said. It sounds to me like you are now challenging your band to stop you from eating! It won't, it might restrict the amount you eat, but it won't stop you from eating too fat and too much if filled properly! Slow down, use smaller plates and read the link Missy sent. Karen..aka..kll724
  5. Yes, some surgeon actually recommend 5-6 small meals. I would listen to your own surgeon's advice! Karen..aka..kll724 What isn't broke shouldn't be fixed!!
  6. Back away from the Christmas cookies!!! Eat one, then stay away, they are addictive and dangerous! Have a drink of something low calorie instead. Thanks CG, you always post the greatest uplifting advice!!Karen..aka..kll724
  7. Welcome!! Don't be scared, it is good! I, also, had to wait, but the wait is okay! Did you d o the seminar, yet? I had lots of online things to fill out before I could schedule my 1st appointment. Then, I had to endure 6 months of preparation appointments. With teh visit to teh nutrionist, and teh appointments, I lost about 25 lbs in the 6 months. It was great kick start for me! Anyway, just wanted to say, "Hi" and welcome to our forum! Karen..aka..kll724
  8. Best wishes to you December bandsters! You will be starting the New Year with a new you, too! Karen..aka..kll724
  9. Congrats on receiving :the golden ticket". You seem to be making the best of this chance to change your life for the better. Best wishes, and join in here whenever you feel you need support, or just to be supportive others! Karen..aka..kll724
  10. 3 hours after eating is about right. You have lost very good, but if YOU feel that it is time for a fill, maybe it is! My own surgeon knows me well enough to know that I can't do more than the fill have already. When did you have your last fill? I had to wait at least 1 month between them until I was happy and my weightloss was acceptable. If I had lost about 5 lbs in a month, I was not allowed a fill. Best wishes, you need a hug, too((((hug)))). Karen...aka..kll724
  11. I have trouble swallowing tings that at times. I can't eat some lettuce, and can't eat apple skins. I, also, haev trouble with shrimp, as parrishel said. Best wishes, hope that we have helped at little. Karen..aka..kll724
  12. You are healing! are you doing too much, possibly too little! If you are not walking, or moving at all, you need to do it! But, if you are vacuuming, carrying heavy things, then you are doing too much. sleeping on the side will eventually come, try using a pillow. Best wishes, Karen..aka...kll724
  13. I agree with B-52. My surgeon's office said walking was great, but no other for awhile. I can't remember how long, at least 6-8 weeks. Other people, I am sure, have heard other advice! Only your own doctor can answer that for you! Karen..aka..kll724
  14. Never heard that! Yes, I don't see any reason why not. Many of us "oldsters" have them. I have a Protein shake everyday. But, check with your own surgeon and see what he/she has to say! I make mine at home, using smoothie mix and bananas, or strawberries or both!
  15. I lost 100 lbs, there are many people on here who have lost 100 lbs. It is not impossible to do. I wish you best luck, possibly your surgeon just did not wan to burst your bubble if you don't make 100 lbs. But, I think that you can. do you think that you can? That is the important question, and answer!! Karen..aka..kll724
  16. Have a nice trip, I think that it is summer in Australia, now!
  17. Well best wishes! I am glad to see that you are trying to change your life before your fill! rayanne, feel free to come and lament or jump for joy as you start to renew your band life!! Karen..aka..kll724
  18. Dear Chloesmom, I hope that you are healing well. You have gone thru a lot. Diverticulitis is a real bitch. My sister-in-law had that and was very sick. But, I think that was, also, when she found that she had celiac, have you been tested for that? It runs in my husband's family, and my son has been diagnosed, too. We all stay away from gluten in our family, now! Best wishes, I wish you a better health into the New Year. Karen...aka..kll724
  19. Leepers, with your attitude, you will make a great success of your new band and life..Best wishes for a great surgery and healing. Remember to sip your fluids, and walk as much as you can tolerate!! Karen...aka..kll724

  24. Maybe it is the holidays. I have noticed a lot of the peeps are not here, too!
  25. all4gizmo. I too have struggled with a little weight gain since having a revision surgery. I have 5 cc in my band and can't tolerate more. I have had to readjust my food intake and mind. Try joing myfitnespal and logging your intake and exercise, it is helping me! Best wishes, Karen,,aka..kll724
