  1. i don't use liquid drinks, I mix my own with powder and the blender. I, also, add ice or frozen strawberries to make it more like the smoothies you get out. (Even when I was just starting, I alwys used the blender becsue my surgeon's office had us using Chike powder)! Best wishes, Karen..aka.kll724
  2. Jackie, have you spoken to a nutritionist? Sometimes, if we are not eating the proper foods, even though we are only partaking 1 cup, we will continue to be hungry. Protein 1st, then veggies, trying to stay away from carbs. Then as recommended, start to exercise! Best wishes, you can break the impasse! Happy New Year. Karen..aka.kll724
  3. Welcome new comers and returners. Yes, this time of year is tough. I think that we all have to return to our "normal" lives after the holidays are over. You should be able to jump back on the "band wagon" . Best wishes, and happy new you in the new year. Karen..aka.kll724
  4. I agree, best wishes., I am not knowledgeable about your problem. But, reflux can cause problems that you have. Sorry for your pain. i hop ethat your surgeon can help. Karen..aka..kll724
  5. Take your pain meds, you probably need some for a few days. If your surgeon did not give you any, get some Tylenol liquid. also, getting up and walking helps to move the gas around. Not all the pain is gas you just had surgery, you know! best wishes, Karen..aka.kll724
  6. You can do it! See your surgeon, you might want ta fill, or some suggestions from them to jump start your weightloss. Happy New Year and new you!!2014!!! Karen..aka.kll724 PS:::welcome back!!!!
  7. That oral fixation is where sipping your Water comes in! When you are wanting something in your mouth, make it water! Much healthier, too! Best wishes and happy New Year to you! Karen...aka..kll724
  8. I had quit in 1984. I would never have wanted to pick up another cigarette. Plus, the cost is amazing! The only addiction I picked up was shopping for clothes for ME!!! Your new clothes will stink of smoke! Best wishes, Karen..aka.kll724
  9. Welcome, I am glad to read that you are committing to yourself again. Since you know what you should be doing, I suggest an appointment to the surgeon's office, you might need to restart with a fill. Trading one addiction for another is a problem, have you seen a psychologist? Starting the New year with a new start to your life is great! Keep up the strong commitment. Best wishes, Karen...aka..kll724
  10. As others have advised, the green zone happens at different times for different people. My surgeon's office have us take a survey before each appointment. A lot of times, we aren't actually aware that we have made it to "green" until we take the survey. If you can eat your small meals, and be satisfied for 3-4 hours, you are probably in the green zone. You must learn to listen to your own body! If you are not aware of the soft signals, such as hiccup, burp, sneeze, cough, etc. become aware of what your body is telling you! Best wishes, Karen..aka.kll724
  11. I was banded in Oct 2009. I remember being very nervous. I was, also, worried that I would fail my band and that was after 6 months of visiting the doctor for weigh ins etc.! i was glad that my hubby was there. Until I went into the per-op room, I think that I prayed and held his hand! I, also, get sick from the anesthesiology so I had to make sure that they were aware of that, too! Yes, I was afraid, it is normal. But, you should be fine. Try to stay calm, and follow your surgeon's orders, sip, sip sip, and walk, walk, walk. That is the best advice I can give. You got this and you have frineds here to support you besies your real life friends and family! Happy New year and new you, to come! Karen...aka..kll724
  12. You need to slow down and take that as a soft, or hard, stop sign! Unless you have nothing in your band, you will still have restriction of sorts, so you will still get those stop signs! Maybe you are still too tight! Are you still vomiting? If not, then you probably just need to slow down and not eat too much. Best wishes, Karen..aka..kll724
  13. I had to have a revision. My surgeon, too, thought that he would have to remove and give me a new band, but it was not necessary. I do have a titled port, but surgeon says that happens when the port is big and then you lose weight and you might need a smaller port to fit. I don't get fills anymore, since I can't tolerate any larger than what I currently have, 5 cc. So, I will cross the bridge of smaller port at some other time! Best wishes to you and i hope that the plan that you have with your surgeon works out for you. Karen..aka.kll724
  14. Welcome all you newbies to this site! It is great to see you are recommitted to the band for the New You! Don't forget to see your surgeon for a fill and guidance. You want to make sure that the band has not been stretched, too! You are not in this lone, that is why the band is adjustable! Best wishes for your successes! Karen..aka..kll724
  15. If you eat late and then go to bed, acid will build up and give you reflux. Reflux can also damage your esophagus. I am glad that you are going to the doctor for an upper gi! Karen..aka..kll724
  16. Best wishes to you and your new you for the New year! If you are cutting out caffeine, that too will cause a temporary headache. Karen..aka.kll724
  17. Best wishes to you for reaching for new goals for the New Year and new you! Congratulations on your success so far! Karen..aka..kll724
  18. I have no advice, but just wanted to wish you the best as you search for answers. The others have given wise advice, but the best would be to just keep serching for an answer. Perhaps you should keep a food diary to study what can cause the attacks, too. Karen...aka..kll724
  19. I'm sorry, I know how tempting that warm bread or rolls are. Last time I was out, since my son has celiac, we just asked them to remove them from the table! I haven't had an attack in awhile when at a restaurant. Happy New year, and great reminder B-52. Karen...aka.kll724
  20. Don't be nervous about a fill. Follow your surgeon's diet restrictions after it. My own surgeon says 2 days clear and 2 days full liquids before starting a normal food plan. Best wishes for your New year, you sound as if you are doing great! Karen...aka..kll724
  21. I, almost, always start my morning with a cup of hot coffee. Later I will have a Protein smoothie with fruit. I seldom have a"real" Breakfast anymore. Karen...aka...kll724
  22. I think carolinagirl has an plication and band. You can send her an message she is a host, too! Karen...aka.kll724
