  1. I am in Lakeland and also, see Dr. Grossbard! I chose him because he was banded and many in his office are, too!Karen..aka.kll724
  2. Cheryl, you look fabulous! You are living proof!Karen..aka.kll724
  3. I am 4 years out, firstly! Okay that said, I use real coke for a stuck episode. I drink mostly straight Water, or lime water for cold drinks. I drink mostly coffee for warm drinks. I do not miss soda! Karen..aka..kll724
  4. Yesterday, the only exercise I got in was moving tables and chairs for my groups fund raiser. Then I marched/danced around the room for awhile to the music. Well, I guess I did get some exercise in. It did not seem to be much, but any little bu\it helps! Karen..aka.kll724
  5. Usually, ports do not leak, if you have a leak, the only way to find out is have your surgeon, or whoever fills you to check the chart to see how mush you have and then to measure when they fill you! Mine, always, withdraws what is in, and then refills again! Best wishes, Karen..aka..kll724
  6. I was allowed to do cardiac exercise only for the 1st 6 weeks. So, all surgeon's are different. Check with yours! Karen..aka.kll724
  7. I don't know, but seems like 1700 calories is a lot of calories to burn in a day for a woman. I understand you are very active, and if so, maybe you are burning a lot of calories. Have you spoken with a nutritionist or your trainer about this problem? Google is not always the answer to everything! best wishes, Karen..aka.kll724
  8. Wow! You go! You are doing great!
  9. I can see both points of view. But, I have always known how much is in my band. I have to take a survey of my eating habits, etc, when I visit. That is his way of knowing whether or not I ma truly in the "green" zone and if I need a fill. I can't tolerate any more than 5 cc in a 10 cc band. I have asked for more and usually end up having him take out the extra! So, I do think it is important to know what it\s in your band for that reason! Karen..aka..kll724
  10. I agree, the little bugger does have a mind of its own!
  11. Wow! Sharpie, sounds like a trip to Alaska is on the horizon. Congrats!
  12. Glad to hear! excellent advise from jean as usual! Best wishes for continued success. (sometimes you will have problems)Karen..aka...kll724
  13. You are doing good! As I said to another person, now you have lost 26 lbs! Before lapband, you would have woohooed for losing that much in 6 months. Don't bash yourself!I agree with kimk1999, how much do you have in your lapband? You might not even have 5 cc, if your surgeon is a moderate filler. Make sure that you are eating your Protein 1st and then your veggies, try staying away from carbs, and drink your Water, too. Best wishes, make sure that you are following doctor's orders. Karen..aka.kll724
  14. Best wishes. I hope that this is the one! Karen..aka.kll724
  15. Well best wishes, sometimes it takes awhile to get the discomfort to pass. I made the mistake once, to balance a box on my stomach, as fat people do, OMG did it hurt, and made sure never to do that again. best wishes, Karen..aka.kll724
  16. Sorry to hear that you had a problem with your band. best wishes with you sleeve! Karen..aka..kll724
  17. I am not sure, probably the swelling is a problem. Most of us, that I have come into contact with, have 1 week clear and 1 week full. If you surgeon's office has said one day, then follow their directions. Make sure to check in with them for advice of the tightness you mention. Karen..aka..kll724
  18. ((((hugs))) to you, maybe he can just reposition you band, that is what I had done, a revision. I did not need to lose it! Best wishes, Karen..aka..kll724
  19. Congratulations, no, you are the oldest lapbander that I have heard of!
  20. As soon as this person comes on here and starts telling everyone THIS is what you MUST do if you want to be successful, or else you are asking for certain doom...medical problems..... Saying To loose weight and be successful...YOU MUST stand on your head for 30 minutes after every meal, OR ELSE!!! It Is the ONLY WAY! Now I have a problem....I lost my weight and never stood on my head....yet this person is telling everyone this is what you HAVE to to, this is the ONLY way it works.... There are are a lot of new people here looking for guidance...and they're being told they must stand on their heads for 30 minutes after every meal? I cannot let this go by unchallenged.... Lol! B-52, I agree, it is a personal to each body. My son-in-law says he ONLY loses weight after a fill. I never had that problem, because I have restriction and am "green". Sometimes, its easy to slide to "yellow". People need to follow their surgeon's rules, and guidelines,. Then they have to make it work for them! On another forum, someone snidely said, well if you all have followed your surgeon's guidelines so well, then you must be at goal! This was in the January where someone said I am hungry, and we all said don't cheat without your surgeon's blessing! Karen out! Have a great day! Kll724
  21. Absolutely, me too! I still look at some of the commercial, 1st in amazement on how much they think people eat. Then I sometimes want some of it too! Olive Garden is one that makes me drool! pizza places are killers, too!
  22. My daughter had a friend who also had the lapband surgery. she used to take her kids for fries, and then lick the paper wrapper!
  23. Made me grin, ! that was so me the 1st winter after weight loss. Actually, in air conditioning, etc. I was always cold. our body will adjust, we humans can do that! i can sit mostly, now, without a blanket, and I don't "have" to have a sweater all the time. But, my hubby and I keep the air conditioning on 78/79 during the summer, and heat at 75/76 during the "winter" in Florida. Karen..aka.kll724
  24. Great post, you are right, we are never totally through. But you before and "during" are great! Karen..aka.kll724
