My only problem with eating and then going to sleep is GERD. It is dangerous and something you don't want. I,a nd many others, don't eat after 7 or 8 pm. Karen..aka.kll724

Came back to forum, because I need support...
Hi, my own daughte rhas the same problem as you. She has been 190 when she had her band(at 4'9"), and has been to size 12 and about 150. she has not been able to get past that either. i feel for you, but can't give much advice. she did have a nutritionist study. She needs ot exercise more, maybe that would help you, too! Best wishes, Karen..aka.kll724

I'm going walking and I'm a foodaholic.
when I weighed 118 I thought I had a fat person trying to get out, when I was 245, I always thought I had a thin person trying to get out! I know that without the band I would go back to being that fat person,a gain! Karen..aka..kll724

Meal size
I use a desert plate to eat. Now, after 5 years of doing this, I pretty much know how much Protein to eat. if I have room for other stuff, then I will eat it. i seldom eat pizza, sandwiches, or that type food. I think that the 4 to 5 bite rule sounds great. If I have pizza, I make sure to stop after 1 small slice. It is not really one of my choices, tho'! Karen..aka.kll724

Is your weight loss surgeon morbidly obese?
I just saw this, but wanted to comment. My surgeon, and most of his office workers are all former patients of lapband. There are other surgeon associated with him that are all slimmer. I ,actually, chose him because he had had the surgery and could understand me better. So, my answer would be, not anymore, but previous to surgery several years ago, yes! Karen.aka..kll724

question about protien shakes
I agree with B-52, if you are truly at 9cc in a 10 cc bad and still that hungry between meals, something is wrong. It sounds like your "diet" is a good one, supplementing between meals. But most shakes would be too high in calories to have two a day between meals. I think that you should try, veggies, or something else that you can tolerate, but not a whole shake, they are like 200-300 calories each! Best wishes, maybe you can call the surgeon's office! Or, do they have a group meeting that you can attend? Best wishes to you, Karen..aka..kll724

NO real advice, except to tell you to take it easy. Have you been okayed for workouts at the gym? You are probably just swollen from your fill, workout and the other workout. Maybe just do cardiac today, instead of other type workout! Best wishes, Karen..aka.kll724

Year post op plateau
Please fill in your profile, it is hard to tell where you are in life, if you are male or female, what you started at, where you are now! Thanks! Best advice I can give is to make sure that you are getting your Water, too. Maybe adjust your calorie count to jumpstart your losses. But a plateau happens, and sometimes there is not a lot we can do to start but then it weight loss will start by itself, again. Maybe your weight o\is shifting around, clothes getting looser? Do you need a fill? Best wishes, Karen..aka.kll724

Constant coughing a problem
It is actually important to cough. It is getting air back into your lungs. Now, if you feel that there might be a problem, call your surgeon's office. A good idea, when you cough, is to hold a pillow on your tummy to relieve the discomfort you will feel. But, otherwise, keep coughing! Walking round will not only move the gas around, it will put more air into your lungs, and possibly relive the cough, too! Best wishes, Karen..aka..kll724 (I am not a medical person, however)!!!

Question for All
Slimming is a bit different than Pbing, most lap banders will probably "slime" more often than they PB, slimming is a way of producing saliva to help move the "stuck" food down your esophagus and your mouth will fill with saliva and you will spit out slime...slimming is not as harmful as Pbing because you are not actually putting pressure on your band...frequent Pbing can cause your pressure on your band... . I agree with Nana, and thought about what I typed lastnight. I do slime a lot more than pb! I hate sliming, and most always have to find somewhere to spit, or it will come out all by itself! YUCK! In fact, I red that B-52 said he mentors and some ladies carry zip lock bags in their pocket books for the problem. I have carried large amounts of paper towels in my car, too

With summer and vacations coming up...swimsuits?
I like either a tankini or a one piece. The tankini i chose were separates, so i could chose a smaller top or bottom depending. i,also, liked the boycut legs. The one piece I chose had tummy holding in thing. It hid much of the loose skin. Best wishes, sound like the othe ladies ideas about miraclesuits is good! Karen..aka..kll724

Advice your surgeon of nausea. Remember, liquids in, liquids out. As others stated, be happy that you can move your bowels at all. Best wishes for speedy recovery. Karen..aka.kll724

Question for All
We don't do real vomiting, as if we are pbing it has b\not passed through to the stomach yet. It has none of the stomach acid connected with it. (sort of tastes the same coming up as going down)! I know, gross! It is ,almost, impossible for us to vomit from the stomach! (if I am wrong, I know someone will tell me)!!!Karen..aka.kll724

Prevent/Reduce sagging skin associated with rapid weight loss
I think as one of the others stated, it has a lot to do with your own genetics and your age. I am happy with my sagging body, most of the tiem. But, wish I had the money to have tummy tuck.My surgeon keeps reminding me that I am fine, I am 65. Karen..aka..kll724

A whole new ballgame!
sherlock1969, you are doing great, don't be hard on yourself. This is a way of life, and you are now discovering that we should eat to live, not live to eat! You have hit a great milestone if you can get past the thoughts of what your next meal will be. You are coming along fine! congrats and best wishes for future "recovery"; truly we are like alcoholics that have to learn to survive in a strange new world. Karen..aka.kll724
