  2. You are now into "bandster hell". I agree with carolinagirl. Continue to follow your surgeon's plan and call to see if you can get into the office for fill. Karen..aka..kll724
  3. LOL! 7lbs 8 oz! ! congrats on your weightloss and being so close to goal! Karen..aka..kll724
  4. Ain't it great! Been there done that, have also, experienced that huge relief when having .5 removed from my band. I can't tolerate more than 5.0 cc in my 10cc band. Even with the 5 cc, I sometimes get stuck and have reflux. Glad hat you are better. Karen..aka..kll724
  5. OH, Nana, I understood what you were saying, I just know that they did discriminate for the good looking and young slim women and the older not so pretty ones worked there they just were not in the senate and congress(men) offices!(lived and worked in DC area for 40 years)! I do know that you and others are congratulating her on her efforts of both losing weight and getting her SO a JOB or at least an interview!Karen..aka..kll724
  6. Congrats B-52, you are an inspiration!
  7. You sound like you are doing everything proper, you lost 18.8 lbs in less than a month. Even though you can't make it to your current surgeon's office, you can still follow the guidelines set up when you were in pre-op and after surgery. Do not try to overdo anything at the gym. Waling and cardio are okay, but don't do weights or sit ups, etc, as they are usually not recommended at this point. Best wishes on changing doctors. Karen..aka..kll724
  8. You know what? As I think about it...it's more of a "southern" thing.... I grew up in Atlanta, and before I relocated to Mid-Atlantic, Washington, DC, Maryland areas, I remember this type of behavior down in Atlanta. I think this is why I Left...It has been almost 20 years since I left the deep south! It was "oh she's so pretty" attitude rather than "does she know what she is doing"...lol... When I moved north it was a "different" atmosphere, MOST of the women in the Maryland, DC and northern, Virginia areas were Highly educated and is the only area in the US where most women have college degrees and are in higher positions...I guess because a lot of women work on Capitol Hill, in DC.. And equal rights for women are more prominent in the Washington DC areas and MOST women in the DC areas make MORE money than men....they don't play that here in fact, men will get fired if they play that type of nonsense...and it's venturing on sexual harassment and discrimination...IF they try to discriminate based on weight it will be more subtle and not in your face...lol. And...it's not that type of atmosphere in the Washington DC, Maryland and Virginia areas and MANY women are managers, directors, etc and own their own business. Nana, this may be true now, but Capitol hill women in the 60's and 70's(maybe even still) had to be pretty, well dressed, and smart, in that order!(in fact back then, there was no slacks either!)so maybe they have moved forward quicker than the "South" but then I haven't been inside the offices of the senate and congress. Just saying! Karen..aka..kll724
  9. Did you just get a smaller band due to your large weightloss? Anyway, if this is your 2nd band, you know how to work it. You do know that skin is bad especially during the healing process. Try to stay on your surgeon's guidelines. Best wishes. Karen..aka.kll724
  10. I agree with Joanne. Have you called for a fill since you are not ill now? You have lost really well, but if you want to get back on track, and feel that you can't due to losing your way, call the nutritionist if you can't get a fill. Best wIshes, Karen..aka..kll724
  11. You have to join teh group to go onto the Floridabandsters. It and many others are groups. But, I don't think that it is impossible to join. You just go to groups and join most of them.
  12. This, too is a fact of life! Best wishes ! Karen...aka..kll724
  13. I live in Lakeland, Florida. There is a group on here for Florida people. Welcome. Karen..aka.kll724 Floridabandsters.
  14. You probably just need to wait it out. As stated by terrydumont, you are swollen, and should not be trying to take even a capsule of meds. Liquids only. Follow your surgeon's plan. Call the surgeon, if you still are having trouble. Karen,...aka..kll724
  15. Yes, true vomiting can cause a slip. After being sick, I ended up dehydrated and slipped. It is important to see your bariatirc surgeon,ASAP!!! Best wishes, hard way to start the new year. Karen..aka..kll724
  16. Sorry, no answer from me. I never heard of this, if your own surgeon hasn't either, must be ultimately very rare. Hopefully, someone on here whose is in the medical field might have heard of this. Best wishes, Karen..aka..kll724
  17. My response, also, did not show up on my Facebook page!
  18. I can eat a peace of pizza. But, I can't tell you when I had a burger on a bun last. I have has a 1/4 of a subway sandwich a couple times. I eat very little bread, and burger meat. Mostly I eat fish and veggies. i have tried recently to eat naked wings, they did not agree with me at all! If I have chicken, it has to be in sauce or gravy. It is a great idea to decide that hese foods are not for you! Becasue as you said, what works for some, doesn't work for others. there are people on this forum that eat steak once a week. i am sorry, steak is not my friend! Best wishes, will be watching you! Karen..aka.kll724
  19. I,also, had 2 weeks liquids only diet! The main thing to remember, when you are liquids only, liquids in, and usually liquids out! Best wishes, Karen..aka..kll724
  20. Yes, what B-52 said. Never start any new exercise without your surgeon's okay! I think, actually, it may be too early to lift weights, unless you mean the hand wights of 5-10 lbs. Karen..aka.kll724
  21. Hi, welcome aboard. This is a great way to start the new year. It is a big step, but remember that we all start with baby steps. And swimming is one stroke at a time! Best wishes, Karen..aka.kll724
  22. Also, follow the plan that your surgeon's office will give you for guidelines. My surgeon was must more stringent in his food choices than most. We could not use cottage cheese until we were on stage 3, but many surgeon's allow it on stage2. I used a lot of canned meat, and even went so far as to use some babyfood instead of pureeing my veggies. Well best wishes, hopefully you get some ideas from these post. Karen..aka.kll724
  23. Sounds like you have a plan. Good for you! Best wishes int eh new year. Karen..aka.kll724
  24. Just jump back on! As terry said, we all make mistakes. Try to stick with the "diet" now, tho'. Bets wishes. Karen..aka.kll724
