  1. I just turned 65. I was banded when I was 61. I have had my band for 3 1/2 years. I had wanted some kind of surgery for years, but had neither researched it, nor heard of lapbanding. I was never, too, self conscious until I was too heavy for one of the tables at a medical center, and they had to send me to another center which had a table for over 250 lbs. Then I was embarrassed! I was ready, too because of my arthritis and high blood pressure. Welcome to lapband!

  2. I had sever gall bladder attacks before having my lapband. It sounds a lot like that. My daughter had hers removed prior to lapband, too. But many people experience gall bladder problems after losing a llot of weight. Good luck, the surgery is not too bad. My biggest problem was the surgeon missed a couple stones in my bile duct, and I had to go back into hospital for 3 days, because of pancreatitis. Be careful for jaundice! Also, is your urine colored. Mine was pretty red! Best wishes. Karen

  3. Congrats on your beakthough. I, also, like bread. I was raised on nice, hot fresh from the oven bread; and you could cut it thick as you want. yummy! But, it is a downfall for me too! I don't eat it,except a roll at a restaurant at times. It is nopw easier to stay away from since my band doesn't like it, too! Happy New Year to you! Karen

  4. I have alot of trouble with salad. Stay away from iceberg lettuce, for some reason it is hard to chew up. Also, I agree, you may still be slightly swollen, and the excitement for the wedding could be a factor too, take it easy for a few days. You might want to go back to liquids. Congratuations on the "new attitude" and NSV's galore. Karen

  5. Good for you. Overcoming any addiction is difficult. As they say in WW, you can cut out a lot, but you need to eat. We just need to learn to eat to live not live to eat. I have 3 family member on this journey with me. It is a little easier. I remember quitting smoking; the 1st thing my husband and I said, was, okay, now we ordered our food what do we do until it gets here! I guess now of days, folks had to learn that too, as can't smoke in most restaurants, anymore. Well, now I have another habit, which is almost as hard to break, it is SHOPPING for myself. And I have an enabler husband! Good luck to you, and Happy Holidays, whichever you celebrate! Karen
