Thats awesome!!!!! Way to stay strong and motivated!! Doesnt it feel soooooo good to wear smaller clothes and just feel SMALLER???? I lost 37lbs in the last 3 months and I couldnt be happier!!! Congrats !!!!!!!!!
  5. Hey there.....I have been banded for 3 months now and still do not count calories...lost total of 37 lbs now....the only thing I add up during the day is PROTEIN GRAMS. My goal is 68 grams a day. Although calorie counting is prolly a good idea, I have never been good at it and my Dr says its not necessary. As long as you are making healthy choices and getting the protein needs in that you are supposed to, you will be fine. Although from your list it looks like you may be eating too little, you may wanna check with your doctor! Good luck!!

ok so here i am 3 months post-op, lost 35+ pounds and feeling pretty good. maybe tooo good.....so last week i used a straw for 2 days at work and suffered gas pains for awhile...got "stuck" and "slimed" (2 words that i never knew what they meant till now)...and here I was chugging along after 10 weeks and feeling fab, and BAM felt like crap:sad: Now yesterday I had pain around my port ALL DAY...so much to the point I felt like I had just had surgery and had all that post-op swelling. So I had to get my mind going and think of what I had been eating (and to be very honest, I have been awesome with my eating since surgery)...but I was able to eat and drink so I didnt think anything could be terribly wrong.... So i realized that I may have had TOO MUCH CHEESE in the last few days....could I have eaten too much to cause lots of gas?? Does cheese cause gas? :cursing: Really learning something new everyday with this band.....

Congrats to you!!!!! The first few weeks after surgery are the hardest. Even after your first fill, sometimes the restriction still isnt there. I had my surgery on Oct 13th, and have lost almost 35 lbs!! In the beginning I had great restriction, and actually thought my brain that tells me i want all that junk, was turned off.....thats the HONEYMOON stage!!! Right now you are kinda in BANDSTER HELL!!!! you have a new lap-band probably with nothing in it yet, and now its just time to stay motivated and on track!! you can do it.....I have actually only had one 2cc fill and don;t feel ANY restriction now.....but I stay motivated and just keep remembering that there is a light at the end of this tunnel!!!! Happy to hear you are healing and more comfortable!! It gets sooooo much better, and when you start to see the difference with your weight loss, you feel soooooo much better!! Happy new year....Happy new you!!! godd luck!!
  9. ok so i had my surgery almost 3 months ago and happy to say that i am down 35 lbs!!!! i have been sooo motivated and eating all the right things and, although there is always temptation, i have told myself time and time angain that this is my new life, and a new way of looking at food.... on that note, i had my first epispde of GETTING STUCK.....WOW thought i was having a heart attack...ate a crab ragoon and 10 mins later had massive "chest pain" (as i like to call it) and really felt like i was gonna die  I have NEVER felt that way b4 ...even while in labor AND the delivery of 3 kiddies over 9 lbs (not all at the same time...) WORST pain of my life...thank god it was over in 40 mins.... well, last nite i had TERRIBLE pains which felt like post-op gas/swelling we all know too much about....after about 8 hours of dealing with this, I realized it was gas pains and that I had been drinking from a straw for the last few days...(I'm in loooove with unsweetened ice tea from WaWa or Dunkin donuts) Then I remembered NO STRAWS. WOW.,....never thought a straw could do soooo much damage. moral of the story....STAY AWAY FROM STRAWS and REALIZE EVERY OUNCE OF FOOD THAT GOES INTO YOUR BODY......lesson learned:thumbup:

hi!! I DID CANNED HORMEL TURKEY CHILI (1/2 CAN IS A SERVING) AND PUREED IT, ADDED SOME SHREDDED CHESSE ON TOP, MICROWAVE, THEN ADD SOUR CREAM ON TOP!! YUMMY...LIKE AN ENCHILADA MINUS THE WRAP!! AND ALOMST 20 GM PROTEIN IF NOT MORE!! GOOD LUCK!
  13. hi congrats on the band!!!!! lets see....when i was post-op, i did full liquids for one week, which included protein shakes, sugar free jello/pudding/popsicles....then i was on puree for a week....like tuna/chili/scrambled eggs....put it in a little food chopper!! Next came mushy for 2 weeks and that was just like puree but didnt have to be blended.....its a lil' confusing, but for a month you really just have to watch what goes into your NEW stomach!!! chew chew and remember to take it SLOW.....im now 6 weeks after surgery, down 25 lbs, and on regular food. But I still have to take it really slow and be careful!!.....good luck girl!!! you can do it!!
  14. hey there...congrats on the band!!!! it will get better...now what have you had on this LIQUID phase??? now, i know every doc is different, but most want you on clears the first 2 days then start protein shakes thereafter.....for instance, I had a protein shake 3 times a day (breakfast.lunch/dinner time) then had some sugar free jello/pudding/pops in between. Try to stay away from juice or other liquids with empty calories....AND if you are using store bought protein shakes pre-made, watch the carb count.....not sure if any of this will help. Are you at least able to keep thinks down? If not, def contact your doctor. and try not to be scale crazy...it will sabatoge you! good luck
