After 2 months and 7 days, I am only down 13 pounds. However, I went today and purchased the same pair of black pants that I love, but in a smaller size! How many pounds do people typically lose between one size and the next one down? Thanks!

Hi everyone, I just had my first fill Monday. Since then, I have been having diarrhea and stomach cramps immediately after eating! Has anyone else had this problem? Am I doing something wrong, or is this what life is going to be like from now on? Thanks for your help! Cassandra

I am white. I am dating a man who is black. My mother does not care, my step-father does. I have dated two black people in the past, a few mixed race people, one Indian, one Mexican and the rest have been white. I think race is all what we make of it. I could let my step-father's feelings affect me and not allow myself to date a wonderful person of another race. Instead, I realize that I am an adult and make my own decisions for myself. We all have the choice of whether or not to be racist, just like we decide whether or not to go to college or anything else. My grandparents, who are in their 80's, still call black people "the coloreds". When I got out of a serious relationship she sent me a note and said that she hopes I find a good Christian man with good values to spend the rest of my life with (I am only 24). Ironically, I just met a wonderful man last week. I would love to send her an email and say, "Grandma, I met the love of my life. By the way, he is black." - but that would probably give her a heart attach

There are lots of threads on hair loss - we just had one yesterday where people voted on the amount of loss they have had. If you go to the top of the page and search, you will find a lot of information.

My favorite by far is Muscle Milk. It tastes like whole chocolate milk, but not as sweet - it's just right. you can find it at Target, but it is about half that price at Sam's. Get the pre-mixed liquid instead of the powder - it's much better!

I am just over a month post op - but my diet is not really restricted at all. The only things that are tough are thick, doughy white bread. Also, if she drinks alcohol - I'll let you know that after one drink I am drunk - so make sure you are there to drive her. I wouldn't worry about the vacation or cooking - just try to make healthy meals and support her new eating habits. We bandsters can eat about anything in moderation. The best thing you can do for her is to be supportive, and try not to tempt her with delicious, high fat foods.

I was banded just over a month ago -9/7 - and I've only lost about 7 pounds. I don't know what the problem is - but my doctor told me to expect little to no weight loss before my first fill. I have my fill next Monday, so hopefully I can start losing 2 lbs. or more a week.

What do you mix unjury with - milk, Water, etc??

What is everyone's favorite liquid meal?? Boost, Ensure, Slim Fast, Muscle Milk, etc, etc, etc. What are your favorite flavors?

Can anyone tell me what muscle milk tastes like, and suggestions for flavors?

Hi everyone, I was just wondering if everyone can help me - I am going to do some research on hair loss and the band, as well as Protein intake, Vitamin issues and the speed of weight loss. I was just banded 2 weeks ago, but am already trying to find ways to reduce hair loss in the near future. Will as many people as possible respond with: How much hair have you lost / percentage? How long since your surgery? Do you take a Multivitamin EVERY day? Do you take Calcium EVERY day? How many pounds do you lose a week? I'll let you know the correlations I find!

How long is it before you can consume alcohol with the lapband? I'm not talking about getting drunk - just a mixed drink or two. Does the carbonation make a difference? Thanks.

I adopted a lab/collie mix and think I am going to name her Hailey. I know it'll be tough to get her just 3 days after surgery - but there's no way I could leave her and not know what kind of family she would get. She gave me a kiss and my heart was hers!!!

Yes, I think I am familiar with most of the terms. Someone was kind enough to type all of the abbreviations, so it's easy to use that. Thanks for your advice - you post on the site a lot, and really seem to help a lot of people. Us newbies really appreciate your experience!

Can anyone tell me how much energy you have after surgery? I live in a townhouse with three levels, and wonder how I am going to do with the stairs. I also adopted a puppy today and I get to pick her up 3 days after my surgery (I can't help it - she stole my heart) Please give me realistic expectations of what I'll be doing 3 days afterward, and how many stairs I can do - I'll have to go up and down to take the puppy to the yard. There's a catheter involved - for both men and women? yikes!!! how much does it hurt? Do they put it in after you are asleep?
