October 10, 200619 yr I have been reading that lots of people have experienced hairloss. How can you prevent this ? Is it a loss of nutrients from your diet ? My hais is pretty fine to begin with, I would have none left ! October 10, 200619 yr There are lots of threads on hair loss - we just had one yesterday where people voted on the amount of loss they have had. If you go to the top of the page and search, you will find a lot of information.
October 10, 200619 yr Yasmina, I have experienced quite alot of hairloss. I was starting to panic about 2-3 weeks ago, it is still falling out alot but I noticed some baby hairs starting to come back. You hear alot about hairloss, I don't think you can prevent it, if it happens to you. Many say eat protein, but I don't think that helps, personally. I do know though, if you are one who experiences it, it always comes back eventually. (within the year).
October 10, 200619 yr Author Well that was not wanted to hear I study Middle Eastern Dance and long hair is a big part in some dances. My hair is long but not thick. I really don't have exyra hair to lose ! I guess it is best to know all this stuff before I am bandae as it will not be such a shock !!!
October 10, 200619 yr Yasmina, it is good to know and be prepared for. But, it also doesn't happen to everyone.....luck of the draw, I think!! So, don't despair! You might be in the lucky group and not lose any....or so little that you won't notice!
October 10, 200619 yr I've got long but not thick hair also. I really havent lost any. Of course its likely that I"m just lucky but nevertheless here's how I've done it. I eat a "normal" diet. No high Protein diet, no low carb, no shakes ever - wholegrain carbs contain important nutrients for skin and hair health. I eat a relatively high number of calories - 1500 per day or so, I rely on running regularly to up my calorie burn and keep the weight coming off. Apart from the initial fast loss, I've settled in to 4lb per month or so, sometimes a bit less. Perhaps I'm lucky that I can eat that much, and that way and still lose but I really do work hard at my running and can easily burn 800 to 1000 calories in a session.
