I had/have some unresolved issues with my exhusband. Things (my fault) came to a head 2 days ago and I have been eating such garbage. I love my boyfriend. He is such a good, handsome man. So why do I keep fighting with my ex? I had such fire, passion with him. What I have with my new man is wonderful, comforting, LOVE. Why can't I just let go of someone who has hurt me more than I have ever allowed anyone to hurt me?:frown:

So you cheated on your pre-op diet and the doctor refused to do the surgery? It isnt clear why he decided to not do your surgery.
  3. Me too. I started moving the day after surgery and havent stopped yet.

LOL, you must has experienced some high stress over qualifying for the band.
  5. My boyfriend lost almost 200lbs an has no sagging skin. I am gonna go by what he tells me to do and that way I know I did everything in my power. Did you really not read my post or did you just want to act like I said it was a sure thing?
  6. You are in your weight loss phase and I personally feel focusing on aerobic exercise is better. If you can lift weights now, great. But right now you need the aerobics more. I am doing free weights 3x a week. I really, really, reallyreallyreally dont want anymore surgery and if I can do anything/everything I can to keep from having to have cosmetic surgery after I reach goal I am going to do it.
  7. I am 45, never been able to loose even 20 lbs and the weight is falling off me like crazy. I am very strict with the portion size, but I eat 5-6 meals a day instead of 3 like the doc wants. My boyfriend is a physical trainer and lost a lot of weight by himself and he is the one who recommended never going more than 3 hours between meals.
  8. I tried to get them thru security in December and they tossed $40 worth of suppliments in the garbage. Even though there are supposed to be uniform rules, it is a hit or miss. If you want to be sure you make it thru with your suppliments, you are going to have to check the bag.
  9. There was something else that advertised as zero calories, but a serving size was 1/10 of a seconds spray. Like someone can actually spray like that. LOL
  10. I try to eat around 20% of my calories from good carbs (veggies, fruit). Since I am eating 1500 cal per day, that would be about 75 g per day. But I also never eat fruit or veggies by themselves as they will affect my blood sugar. Instead of an apple or a pear, I will eat half an apple or pear, along with some cheese, cottage cheese, Peanut Butter, a hard boiled egg, or another source of fat or Protein.
  11. I have been waiting for an app specifically for the lapband. One with recipes would be cool. And lapband friendly resturaunt.
  12. Sounds good, but I dont eat swine. I can try it with beef or chicken though. Here is a similar recipe I have made with chicken sausages... Rachael Ray Show - food - Braised Sausages With Apple, Onion, and Hard Cider Sauce
  13. I dont eat them often because they are all high in carbohydates. But I have to admit that I love the Eating Right brand Butternut Squash Ravioli. Yum!
  14. I am having issue with clothing also. My old clothes are way too big, but I dont want to buy any new ones because I wont be in them long enough to justify the expense. So for now, I am using safety pins on my tops and draw strings on my pants.
  15. My alcohol habits really havent changed, with the exception of not drinking them with my meals now. I will have 1-2 glasses of wine, or martinis, or mojitos, or whatever about once a week, maybe twice a week. I understand it is high calorie, but right now I can afford the extra calories. I can afford the extra calories because I am making really good food choice right now. If my weight loss starts to stall or plateau, I will reevaluate. Until then, bottoms up! :rolleyes2:

Sweetie, you just got to make those lifestyle changes. None of us want to, we were comfortable in our eating habits. I think one of the things that helped me was my surgery was very, very painful for me. Whenever I start to pick up a candy bar or a bag of chips, I remember what it felt like and there is no way in HELL I am gonna do anything to cause me to have to go back into surgery.
  17. I was about 4 months out before I tried eating a steak. It went ok, no problems. chicken cooked fresh was introduced maybe 2 months into it, if memory serves. I have never had any problems with fish. But just be careful if you just had a fill. I had some issues with things that had never given me issues for 2 weeks after my first and only fill.
  18. I have some small bento boxes I use to pack a lunch. They are Japanese school children lunch boxes and are very small containers. Ramekins are nice too. You can get them pretty much anywhere, even Walmart. They are typically 6 oz or 1/2 cup. I use them when I am going to make chicken/black bean salad. I use one for the black Beans, one for the chicken, and heat them up in the ramekin. Then dump the beans on a plate, top with chicken, add grated cheese and 1 table spoon of mango salsa, 1 tablespoon of guacamole, and 1 tsp of sour cream. Yummy!
  19. I didnt get a fill my first visit, so it was 10 weeks before I had a fill. Like others said, you need this time to heal. You want your band to set correctly so you do not have problems later with slips and stuff.
  20. When I sit down to eat, I make sure no drinks are close. If I go out to eat, I tell them no water, no drinks. When I am at home, I dont put them on the table while eating. It helps. Too easy to just reach over and take a sip if it is there.
  21. Panda Express has a kids meal and you can get veggies instead of rice/noodles. I am just worried about the MSG content, havent had confirmation that they use it but I suspect. Starbucks Vivanno Protein drinks. I like the banana chocolate. Pollo Campero has a grilled chicken with a side of Beans and fresh lime wedges I do sometimes, carefully. I read on here where people were eating refried beans and was eating them daily for a week and my weight loss stalled. So I dont eat them anymore.
  22. I dont like the gummy Vitamins, bought a tub and am stuck with it. I just really dont care for suppliments that mimic kiddie candy. I am currently using Bariatric Advantage chewable multi and calcium. As soon as those are used up, I am going to switch to Bloomin Nutritions chewable prenatal vitamins. I ordered a tub of those and they are great. They are a soft chewable cube like a chewable calcium, but they dont try to mimic kiddie candy. They have a very sophisticated taste (citrus ginger), which I prefer.
  23. You are doing wonderful, congratulations!
  24. With it being so small and a family run business, chances are they are going to find out when they get their insurance review. So, if it were me I would not lie. I would simply tell them you need time off for health issues and leave it at that. If they push, tell them you are having surgery but try to avoid giving them the opening to ask too many questions. Also, with it being so small they are exempt from a lot of the federal regulations regarding disabilities, discrimination and such. (before anyone jumps on me, notice I said federal and look it up yourself. FMLA cover businesses with over 50 employees).

I have heard others say surgery can cause water retention weight gain. So give it a week or so and see how it all works its way out of your body. I didn't own a scale immediately after surgery so I don't know what my weight was doing then.
