Oh, thank you, It was chocolate (mix, not from scratch) with canned vanilla frosting...not homemade. Does that help??? I'm used to whipping everything up from scratch, so I don't know much about canned frosting lol

Anyone know how many calories in a plain-jane (regular size) cupcake? One of my students had a b-day today and his mom brought me a cupcake. The boy's eyes were on me waiting to see me eat the dern thing. Luckily I burned over 600 calories during my workout today!
  3. Well, here's what I had: Breakfast was one homemade biscuit ( my hubby wanted pancakes and I refused, so he mixed up the biscuits and baked them on his new Pampered Chef stone), with a little butter and mayhaw jelly. A treat for sure! lunch was about 2 oz of roast beef, 1 tablespoon of white rice with some gravy, a bite or two of a roll, about a tablespoon of broccoli casserole, and a bite or two of salad. I ate three oreo truffles between lunch and dinner. Dinner was 2 oz of ham, 2-3 tablespoons of broccoli casserole and 2 tablespoons of homemade mac and cheese. I was WAY too full. It was a great Christmas!
  4. Well, a month after I posted this, those numbers have changed again and I'm just thrilled! My previous post was 77 pounds down, 85 to go, and now it's 85 down and 77 to go! I'm over the hump there! I weigh on Mondays and I was really surprised with the numbers today because I haven't been exercising much at all.
  5. I have really thin hair to begin with, and my hair falls out all the time anyway, but now its really, really bad. I'm starting to get a bald spot on top of my head. I'm going to my stylist Saturday and will discuss a new style, but I love my style now so much. My hair is in awful shape from straightening and coloring, and now I'm losing it. Maybe I'll ask for a wig for Christmas. I talked to a bariatric surgeon that just started going to my church and he recommended Biotin, but I haven't seen a change.
  6. Congratulations Susan! Wonderful news...I know you are so thrilled.
  7. Congratulations! Hope you will continue to love your sleeve
  8. Congratulations!!! That's an awesome success!
  9. I went to visit my mom this past weekend for an early Thanksgiving, and I found my senior prom dress (from 1995). I tried it on and not only did it fit, it was a bit loose! That was kind of cool for me. I'm down 77 pounds and still have 85 to go, but I am so THANKFUL for this surgery. What a wonderful change it has brought to my life. :001_rolleyes:
  10. Wow! That's great, you two!!! :laugh0:
  11. I don't particuarly HATE to exercise, but I hate finding the time and then when it comes time to do it, I hate getting dressed for it, etc. But, once I'm doing it, I like it. I use the Zumba dvds and they are more fun than work. That's just my opinion, though. I will say that exercising is so much easier lately than it was even a month ago. The more I lose, the more I'm able to move and it feels awesome. My knees still hurt some, but not nearly as much as they used to. When I first started exercising after surgery, I would hobble around afterward because my knees bothered me so much. Now, they hurt a little while exercising, but after, I feel great. I just did an hour of Zumba and my heart rate monitor told me I burned almost 800 calories. That should be motivation for me, but I'm still only getting in a workout about 2 times a week. Three if I feel guilty for eating a snack in the afternoon with my kindergarteners! :001_tongue:
  12. Well, all I know is that I am STILL battling the dry, cracked mouth...the tongue is the worst. I get at least 60 oz of Water most days (maybe 1-2 days I only get 40-50), and unless I sleep with my mouth closed, I get crackly mouth. It's awful and I don't know how to stop it. My husband had a kidney stone for 28 days (yes, 28) and had 2 surgeries to fix it. He's 31 and fairly healthy but got the blood clot from being laid up for a month. He's still on coumadin (sp??) but his levels are better and will hopefully be off of it by the end of the year. The worst part was the shots he had to have, that I had to give, that cost way too much money. Our insurance was not pleased, lol! Hope your dry mouth gets better!!!
  13. I had one that was leaking before I ever left the hospital. It took the longest to heal, and for a while it was quite gross (yellow goo). I called the doc and they said not to worry unless it became hot and produced more stuff. It eventually healed, but man it was a pain in the arse! Speaking of incisions...mine are all still very reddish looking. Will that eventually fade? I hate looking at them, and I doubt I'll ever wear a bikini or anything, but they are so distracting when I look in the mirror.
  14. I can't believe it's taken me so long to find this thread!!! I have a huge bag full of size 24, 26, and some 28 clothes that I am planning to donate to Good Will, but would love to pass on if anyone need them. A lot of it is from Lane Bryant, Avenue, and a couple of things from Kohl's. Message me if you'd like them!
  15. Ok, Tiff...I just ordered the sample pack! I'm pretty picky myself (haven't had a protein drink in a loooooooong time), so I'm hoping this will be great! Thanks for the suggestion.
  16. I'm 6'2" and I'm supposed to be getting between 80-100 grams of protein a day. I have never made it to 80 grams in a day yet.
  17. Does anyone actually have a food scale and weighs their food before eating? I just eyeball my portion then eat what I can, which is usually not all of what I put on my plate.
  18. I need to start tracking, but I really don't have the time to do it at work, then when i get home, I forget about it!
  19. I have NIGHTMARES about drinking diet dr pepper...and that my stomach explodes. HAHA! I wake up all scared. Haven't tried a soda since surgery, but my Dr. said it would probably just be uncomfortable. I was talking to him specifically about beer, but I'm assuming that would apply to sodas too.
  20. Love my sleeve! go for it. :001_huh: Everything you wrote sounds about right to me!
  21. Same thing happens with me. Sometimes the cafeteria food smells good at school! My husband's family always does a huge Sunday lunch, and I want to eat everything, but I go for the meat first and after I'm done with that I don't want anything else!
  22. I broke all the rules and practically survived off of grape juice for several days after my surgery.

That's so great for you! :001_huh: I hope you love it as much as I do.

Ok, so I got through about 7 minutes of the total 20 minute Jillian Michaels work out. And I was MISERABLE for the next 2 days. I hurt so bad. Every time I got out of the chair, I'd moan and say, "EFF YOU JILLIAN MICHAELS!" My husband was sick of me! Anyway, I'm going to have to work up to being able to do that. HOWEVER, I LOVE my Zumba dvd's. I ordered them and have been loving the workout. I love it so much that I have been thinking about getting certified to teach a class sometime. Not now, of course, but in the far away future. But by then, there might be someone around here who will offer the class! I'd settle for that too.
