  1. WHOA! This thing wants me to weigh 166! WOW! However, I'm comforted that the average woman my height weighs 192. That's more like it. HA! Thanks for my new obsession!!!
  2. A friend of mine swears she got pregnant by taking her temperature daily? I think that's what she told me. This was a couple of years ago. My husband thinks that when I'm off the pill I'll want to do it all the time. HAHA, we'll see. I'm sorry pregnant women are torturing you. It isn't a torture for me yet, but Josh's cousin is having a baby next week, then our sister in law in may, and two more of his cousin's wives in June and July. It's ridiculous. His grandparents have something like 30 great-grandchildren and they just keep coming. The number of kids under 5 at Sunday lunch is like 10 kids or something crazy. BABIES EVERYWHERE. And we attend a Sunday School class for new parents, so that's fun. Last year at work, we had about 5 baby showers if I am remembering right. I don't think anyone at work is pregnant right now, which I'm sure my principal is loving. I just hope I'm as fertile as the rest of my husband's family seems to be.
  3. Well, when i got home yesterday, I just decided to tell my husband my plan. He had the day off and seemed to be in a good mood, so I just said, "Babe, when I lose 150 pounds, I want to get off the pill. I can still lose the rest of the weight while we are trying." He was like, "Ok, that's fine." YAY! He wants his brother's kids and our kids to be close in age like he was with his cousins, so he's all good with it!
  4. Ladies, I'm so SO glad I'm not alone here with this issue! I just keep telling myself that it might be as early as this summer that we can start trying. :crying: Best of luck to you all, and I will send baby vibes to those of you who want them!
  5. No, I'm terrified of jogging on the treadmill! I usually just throw a little jogging in when I'm walking my puppy, but I mostly do Jillian Michael's workouts and Zumba dvd at home.
  6. I'm going to upload a photo that I just took from the Dillard's dressing room in a dress I TOTALLY cannot afford. I went in the room with a size 16, completely expecting it to NOT FIT, but it fit. And it fit well. I just couldn't bring myself to spend $100 on a dress that might not fit in a few months. That, I and just don't need to spend the money. HA! But, coming from wearing a size 26/28 and fitting in a 16 feels soooo good!
  7. Hello there and congratulations on your surgery date!! I will also be in Texas visiting my family during your surgery! I wish you the best.
  8. I just need to say this to someone, and since none of you really know me, I figured it's safer to say it here than my blog! I'm ready to be a mom. I want to be pregnant so bad. I had this surgery so I could be pregnant at a "healthy" weight. When I got married I was 31 years old and weighed about 330. A year later I was facing my 32nd birthday and weighed 351. So, along came the VSG and has really changed my life. My husband's brother got married 2 weeks before my surgery last summer and they are expecting their first child in May. I'm so jealous. I really want to lose another 65 pounds or so before I get pregnant, but now my thought is, I'm going to be 33 in June and what if it takes us a year to get pregnant? That age (33) damn near OLD in the maternity world!!! So now I'm thinking that as soon as I lose another 50 pounds I'm going to talk to my husband about starting to try. I can still lose weight while we are trying! I hope he goes for it. And I hope this gives me the motivation to lose that next 50 pounds! Thanks for letting me get that off my chest!
  9. Thanks for the suggestions, Tracy! Laura, I don't have kids yet (hoping to get pregnant after I reach goal), but I'm a kindergarten teacher. The kids bring a snack every day for after nap time and that's my BIGGEST weakness. We eat lunch at 11 a.m., so by 3 p.m. when they snack, I am ready to snack too!!! I will have to start packing my own snack with my lunch. BUT, spring break is coming up and then only 6 more weeks until summer. I want to be under 200 by my birthday, but I'm going to have to kick some major booty to get there!!! (June 27)
  10. I know my problem is snacking between meals. I don't do it too much, but that's how I'm getting to 1000 so quick... I do great when I'm at home because I don't keep snack-type food around, but it's at work that I have the problem. That crap is all over the place!! I just need to use more will power.
  11. Just curious how many calories those of you who are six months out or more are eating a day. Honestly. I find that I can hit 1000 calories in no time. I have upped my exercise to burn between 500-800 calories a day about 4-5 times a week because I'm just finding that I can totally eat up to 1200 calories in a day. And my portions are not big. 4 oz - 4 1/2 oz only.
  12. I worked not far from there...Barrington Place Elem. I grew up near Wharton. My family is still near Wharton, so I visit about once a month. It really is growing so fast!

Okay, I was short on time yesterday (I have about an hour between work and church on Wednesdays), so I decided to do the first day of this program, and I was amazed! It's still hard on my knees, but I burned 400 calories in 30 minutes! I did a little extra walking at the end, but I am going to make an effort to do this 3 times a week for sure. I need to print out the program again because I can't remember what comes next!
  14. Thanks! And again, I have changed my ticker! After looking at those pictures, I know I need to lose more than 40 pounds! :001_unsure:
  15. Thank you everyone! Today was my official weigh-in day and I'm happy to say the scale didn't move up even though I did have a small piece of my husband's birthday cake yesterday! Lynda, I see you are from Sugar Land! I taught elementary school in Sugar Land 6 years before getting married and moving to Louisiana. I miss it so much!
  16. I have finally lost 100 pounds! I got my husband to take some pictures. We were in a hurry and they aren't too great, but whatever! I'm glad to be here after 8 months...I think 100 pounds in 8 months is pretty incredible! It's a beautiful day out, so I'm off the computer and back outdoors with the puppy!
  17. Awesome job! You can totally make it to 210! I just got to 250 myself Congrats on your success!
  18. I finally made it to 100 today! My official weigh-in is on Mondays, but I have weighed every day since my surgery. It keeps me honest. I'm 100% positive I'll change my goal once I get to my surgeon's goal, but my surgeon's goal seems a whole lot closer than the chart! So, I'm sticking with that for now. Will post pics Monday if I get a chance.
  19. I have some beneprotein in my cabinet. I bought it hoping it would dissolve like benefiber, but it doesn't. It smelled/tasted just like regular protein powders, which I don't use anymore, but I wouldn't buy it if I were you. Find a flavored powder that you like.

Congrats girl! I am kind of doing the Couch to 5k too, but not consistently. I usually work out for about 45 minutes indoors (with my Jillian Michaels or Zumba DVDs) then take my dog out for a walk/jog. I have printed out the Couch to 5K program and kind of follow it with my jogs, but for a shorter time period...like 15 minutes. I'm so glad you were able to get through it! I couldn't jog more than 45 seconds at a time when I first started. :thumbup1: Great job girl!
  21. Thanks y'all! I've only had that one pity party a few weeks ago, and once I got off my butt and started working out, I was over it!
  22. Hello Sleeve Friends! I have been thinking a lot about my final goal weight lately as it gets a little closer every day. When I went in for all my pre-op stuff (that seems a lifetime ago), my surgeon came up with 209 for my goal weight. I'm 6'2" and have always been overweight, but I know the charts say I should be around 175. I don't want to get preoccupied with that number, so I changed my ticker goal back to my surgeon's goal today. Now, when I look at myself in the mirror, I feel like I have way more than 40something pounds to lose, but I can't say that for sure. I am going to stick with my surgeon's goal of 209, and when I make it to that number, I will just see how I look and feel and go from there with a new goal if I still feel like I need to lose more. That being said, I'm SO close to having 100 pounds off, I can taste it. Sunday will mark 8 months out for me and I'm hoping I can post some updated pics of me 100 pounds less than I was 8 months ago. I've been exercising enthusiastically (HA! I really am!) and as long as I exercise, I don't find I have to be so picky about how many carbs I have. That, to me, is worth it, so if exercise is what it takes for me to have a cracker or two, I'll keep doing it. Maybe this is in the wrong forum, but today is one of those days when I feel like I'm a success...even with ???? more pounds to lose!
  23. I remember feeling "weird" about a month after my surgery...it was right around the time I went back to teaching in August. I realized the feeling was because I was on the brink of dehydration. I really started concentrating on getting in the water and I felt a lot better after that. I'd say by 2 months out I was feeling great.
  24. Haha, you crack me up with the "yes, I know I need to tan." You look AMAZING. Congrats on your success. :confused1:
