  1. Welcome to the forum and congrats. on your new sleeve. You will feel a little tired for a few days. Nothing to worry about. Enjoy your naps.
  2. Way to go Stoongal!
  3. I'm sorry JoAnne. I know how you feel. My insurance also denied my claim for sleeve surgery. They would pay for by-pass or band only. I decided to self pay and get on with my life. Good luck in whatever decision you make.
  4. Congrats. on your new journey. The pre-op is really not that bad. You will do great.
  5. Congrats. on your surgery date Carol. It's almost your turn. Keep us posted on your progress.
  6. Good luck tomorrow Kym and Ruby. You will be in my thoughts.
  7. Congrats. on your surgery. Things will get easier everyday, so just hang in there. Keep us posted on your progress.
  8. Lan, I'm sorry that you are going through such a rough spot in your life. You need to get out and get involved in something. Maybe volunteer work. I know that is easier said than done, but you will be ok. You are far enough out from surgery that you shouldn't worry about a leak. Hold your head up and be proud of yourself for having the courage to get through all the changes so fast. Also remember that you will have a few hormone changes to deal with after surgery (from what I hear anyway). I had a few up and down moments but doing ok now. Hang in there and keep us posted.
  9. Please don't eat those foods. Your stomach is not healed and you could cause a leak. Try drinking the protien shakes. They will fill you up quickly. I really like the chocolate ones from Wal-Mart called Eas. I get the pre-made ones. I hope things get better for you soon. Keep us posted.
  10. Norma, It is good to hear from you. I'm so glad that you are doing ok. Everyday past surgery only gets better. Have a safe trip home and keep us posted.
  11. No, All you need is your passport. Have a safe trip.
  12. Happy Birthday! Today is your day. Have a good one.
  13. Have a good day and watch out for that bad sugary stuff. :confused1: LOL
  14. Hello Kelly and welcome to the forum. You will find all the answers you need on this board. Just keep reading and you will learn a lot from other peoples experiences. You will also find a post-op diet posted by Vega Angel that is very helpful. Congrats. on your date and good luck on your new journey.
  15. Hello rycurtis and welcome to the VST forum. You are right the liquid stage is tough. I am 30 days out and starting to eat reg. foods in small amounts. I am learning as I go about the amounts I can eat. I know that a chicken wing, one bite of potatoes, and one bite of slaw is too much for me right now. I'm learning as I go what my new tummy likes and don't like. Everyone is different. I can eat eggs with no problems, but a lot of people on here have trouble with them. Everyday gets better. Just hang in there and you will be fine. My energy levels are up, no more BP meds. and I'm sleeping so much better now. Just ask any questions you want to know and someone will jump in to help. This is a very friendly and helpful board. Good luck in your new journey.
  16. Great job on the weight loss. Good luck on your journey. I'm looking forward to hearing your story.

  20. Welcome to the forum Mike. So glad that you decided to join us. Thank you for posting your story. You are doing a great job. Please keep us updated on your progress and jump in and talk to us whenever you feel like it.
  21. Kelsie, that is a decision that you will have to make for yourself. You need to do a lot of research and talk to your surgeon to see which would work better for you. Everyone is different. We will be here to support you no matter which surgery you choose. I personally thought the sleeve would be better for me even though I had to be selfpay. My insurance would cover bypass or band, but after much research I knew the sleeve would be my choice. Good luck and I hope things work out for you soon. Keep us posted.
  22. Hello Nanya and welcome to vst. I don't know about Chrons but hopefully someone will be able to help answer your question soon. Good luck with your journey.
  23. Barefoot, I'm so sorry about your set back. I hope that you feel better soon and make a quick recovery.
  24. Good luck in your new journey. You are gonna love your sleeve. I had no pain from the surgery at all. I felt a little sick at my stomach the second day, but they gave me meds for that and it was gone by the next day. Walking really helped me feel better quickly. I took my own pillow from home and was really glad that I did. I did not like the hospital pillows. Looking forward to hearing your sleeve story.
