  1. It took me a year before I made my choice to have my LB done. I should have not waited. I am HAPPY, HAPPY, HAPPY did I say Happy? With my weight lose with my LB. It is a tool that I can work with. I was banded June 29, 2009, I am now over a year and have maintained 110 pounds of weight loss. I wear a size 10/12 and people call me skinny. I feel great and have had an amazing journey. Best thing I ever did for myself. Best wishes on your journey. imaluckydog

  2. You will feel 16 again. I do!! My daughter is 20 and she gave me her size 8 rain coat and it fit OMG. I am a size 10/12 in most things. Well, I could not button it completely but I could get away and wear it, not buttoned for sure. My daughter is so proud of me and I feel like a new person. No more pain meds or any meds except for a daily vitamin and calcium.

Your journey will be what you choose to make it. You will follow the rules and visit your Dr. and take care of yourself. I had a BMI of 40 when I started my journey and I was so unhappy.

I would do this again if I had too. I have lost 110 pounds and it has NOT come back. I have kept same weight for about 4 months. I love how I feel today. Take one day as it comes and keep healthy. I had a little cold the day of my surgery and I had no problem. Best wishes on your journey sounds like your journeys has had a jump start ;-) imaluckydog

  3. It's Ok to be where you are today!! So glad to hear you are able to let it GO!! Yes, many of us have had to let it Go!!!

It's OK for me to cry now. I just feel so much lighter.

You have come a long way baby and you look amazing, you feel amazing, you are amazing!! Enjoy every minute. Best wishes imaluckydog

  4. Wow you are both doing so well. Congrats! I am a little over a year from my surgery and I find chicken a challenge. I can eat almost anything I want but I still need to chew chew chew to get by the band. Or to beat the band LOL.. I have had to have 3 un-fill and two barium swallows yuk. Be safe and go easy. Plan tiny meals if you are hungry.

I am as happy as a clam now and I am down from over 250 to 147 this morning. It is hard working with the band but it is so much easier to stop eating with its' help. My mind is starting to adapted to this new way of life. Enjoy the journey. Best wishes imaluckydog

  5. Congrats this is the start of your new life and LB journey. No it is NOT a DIET by any means. You will need to re train yourself to eat real food and not too much and chew really well! I did say Really well. You heard me RIGHT? It is a wonderful choice you have made. This is a tool that works well if you work with it, and will be very very rewarding. If you follow all the rules and take the time you need to heal all will be well for you.

  7. Best wishes to you on your journey to a healthier YOU ;-)

I was banded June 29, 2009, and I weighed in at over 250 pounds. I was a mess. I am a size 10 today and people call me skinny. Go figure skinny. I have NEVER been skinny in my life. I have had a wonderful LB journey as I am sure you will too. Make the most of it every day and be happy!

The soreness does go away it took almost two weeks for me to feel better after my surgery as it is MAJOR surgery! Rest up and take time to heal yourself. This is all about you NOW. Remember you are healing from the inside out. The weight will come off don't worry about that. Follow all the Band rules and blogging is one of the BEST things that helped me get to where I am today. I love this site. I never eat at my computer it is a NO FOOD zone. Best wishes and keep blogging Oh and I have lost 110 pounds as of today and have kept it off, I feel great and even went mini bungee jumping with my college age kids two week ends ago. Never thought I would have ever tried that. Hope to hear from you soon. Happiness to you and feel better soon. imaluckydog

  8. Best wishes to you. I went and had my first consult for tummy and breast and I am a "GO" patient due to how short I am and how much I have lost. That makes me happy I have been a year out but I am going to wait until next summer to make it two years. I have lost over 100 pounds How much have you lost? My skin is so jiggly. Are you nervous? I am.....Oh happy Day imaluckydog

  9. Yaaa for you and keep up the excellent work with your band. It does come off slow and sometimes so slow it seems like a crawl. I was also in the 260's over a year ago and I now weigh 147. Yup, lost over 100 pounds and I have never been so happy in my life. ;-) Size 10 in most clothes. I love to shop now and I am poor because I buy everything that I love because everything fits now. Best wishes and enjoy your journey. imaluckydog

  10. Lets face the facts here!!! It's NOT REAL. It is not a real food.

I know what you are experiencing and it stinks, it is so hard, and our minds are so strong. I was banded June 29, 2009. I have NOT had a soda or carbonated drink since that day. Over a year. Yes, I miss it sometimes. It took about 2 weeks maybe a little longer to be free of the cravings. I wanted one just like you do. It was like a drug for me. It is NOT real. The sooner you are free of all the chemicals in the convenience products the BETTER you are going to be.

I have lost 110 pounds and I eat REAL FOOD, not too much, mostly plants with PROTEINS first. You will have Success if you follow the rules. Best wishes on your Journey Just say NO one soda thought at a time. Best wishes imaluckydog

  11. I agree, Crunch and munch can't be that bad!! Don't let a little snack food control how you feel. Do not give it such power. I think it great you can allow yourself a snack. You have work so hard and nothing should have that much negative power. I love chocolate and I make sure I have some when I need it. I just make sure I enjoy every tasty morsel. I hope you will be able to enjoy snacks someday. Everything in moderation. Best wishes imaluckydog

  12. The weight will come off when your body will let it go. Just keep following the band rules. I did not lose much at all the first month. I also gained after surgery your body is adjusting. You are still healing so pamper yourself and try not to focus on the pounds. Focus on living and finding fun things to do with the new you. Before you know it the pounds will disappear. Keep busy and walk. Eat small to be small. Best wishes imaluckydog

  13. Hello everyone, all such great help and all newbies need support. I am hearing what wonderful information your are giving. Yes, you can eat what ever you want within limits. I have been banded over a year now and I am keeping off 110 pounds. I did stop drinking all soda, my choice. Our body just does not need it. It was about 2 weeks and I never thought about it again. I do NOT drink anything with my meals. This is so so so important. I stay fuller longer. I need to be on a schedule because I never get hungry. I need to nourish myself with REAL food, not too much, mostly plants with PROTEINS first. Eat small to be small. If it comes to you thru the window of your car it is NOT real.

So important to practice small chewing. Putting the fork and knife down to rest and eating slowly are all great practices. We will eat less and get more full and more satisfaction from eating and tasting our food.

I miss eating fast. I miss eating Large quantities of food at one time. I miss feeling over stuffed. I do not miss being morbidly Obese and having a BMI of over 40. I love my new clothes and my new figure and all the great comments I get now I am a size 10. I am so grateful to everyone on this site that helped me when I was a Newbie. Best wishes everyone imaluckydog
