  3. GOOD THURSDAY MORNING!!! I have been very good on my pre-op diet all week and this morning I awoke with a MAJOR carb withdrawl headache.... I took my normal meds (thyroid) and then I took a couple advil and currently on my second cup of coffee........ The scale DID however drop again! Yeah.. it's still water weight, but again I DON'T CARE! LOL from monday I am down 8.4 lbs. 3 weeks from today I will already be at the hospital and possibly banded by now... (I'm the first for the day) I would really like to go into surgery weighing in the 240's... but I will most likely not make that lofy goal, but I can hope..... I am very proud of myself for sticking to my pre-op! All of our newly banded buds.. are keeping me excited and motivated! ITS FINALLY HERE!!!!!!!!

  9. That sounds so good!!!! and you inspired me to shake up my protein shake tonight at home....... I added about a 1 T of SF bananna pudding mix to my LC slimfast (Vanilla) in the blender with ice........ it was aCTUALLY DELISH!!!!!!!!
  10. :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU ARE IN BANDLAND BABY!!! Let the farting begin!!!!!!!!
  11. FOR ME....... and I stress...... FOR ME... I have to eat a Low Carb diet.. when I don't I INSTANTLY BLOW UP (Like I am now) I have PCOS and also a nonexistant Thyroid, a double whammy working against my metabolism. If one delves deeply into the Low Carb world, you would find that there is no such thing as a NO CARB diet. 1 egg has .6 carbs, as does our veggies. If a label says 0 carbs per serving you need to count it as 1 because they can legally say 0 even if it is .999 I have lost 80 lbs 3 times in my life following an Atkins type diet, I have gotten pregnant by eating a Low Carb diet (Lowering my carbs keeps the cysts on my ovaries at bay and allows my body to ovulate) I could go on and on about this but I wont.... Again, not everyone processes carbohydrates efficiently and I am one of those people. Since I am here you might say.. well she's proof it doesn't work.... and I would disagree........... I got here AGAIN because of my obsessive love of Pasta, and Bread and everything CARBY... (simple carbs) and those type things are triggers for me.. along with doses of self sabotage.. oh and my MONSTER appetite once I get going in the viscious carb hell cycle.... (one bite of a doughnut and I would wake up days later with dried ice cream on my face and empty boxes of twinkies scattered around me!) LOL I'm kidding .................. kinda.. I do believe that whole grains, and more complex carbs can be tolerated better.... everyone is different, and everyone has their own path to choose. I view the band as my tool as a FORCED committment to a low carb lifestyle... and yes, for me it WILL be Protein first, veggies second and lastly carbs... but never again will I be physically able to eat an ENTIRE pizza by myself... and right now I could.
  12. CONGRATS! My surgery is scheduled for a Thursday and I'm going back to work on Monday. My boss has no clue, I just took it off as regular PTO.
  13. Ensure, Boost, Glucerna have WAY tooooo much sugar in them.. check the carb counts. I like the EAS Carbvantage shakes (chocolate is the best for me, followed by strawberry) the Slim Fast LOW CARB shakes are ok... but like someone else that posted they must be over ice or blended with ice.
  14. I am also on day 3 of my pre-op diet, and for some reason today the hunger pains hit HARD!!!!!!!! Go get a SF popsicle, drink another Protein shake, get up and walk the hall or stairs and you should be pumped up a bit.
  15. SOOOOOOOOOO glad to hear that gr8ful gal!!!! Bandland HERE YOU COME!!!!!!!! Dave: Be sure to post when you can!!!!
  16. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoo!!!!!!!
  17. yeah that is a true testiment of how much insurance companies get billed! I know that will be what my total tab is, (if not more) and that is exactly why I put my annual OUT OF POCKET MAX in an FSA account this year. and my docs CASH price is: 15.5K
  18. CONGRATS Airwayman!!!!!!!!!!:clap2:
  19. I've even heard of people with insurance issues going in for the HERNIA fix and get the band as a bonus!!!!!!!!!!
  20. Hello APRIL bandits!!!! The weather has suddenly gotten cold again with even a chance for snow, so I did my walking indoors today... it just doesn't feel like a work out walking the ol hollowed halls of this convent! LOL (YES, I work in an actual convent complete with Catholic NUNS) ohhh the stories I could tell... LOL You guys are a hoot! Betty you crack me up daily! the "67 and a slut" comment still makes me giggle. Julie: I am so happy for you in skipping the 190's!!!! and yes, I bet you'll be well in the middle 170's when the swelling goes down. BOO: I am so thankful you've started all these really cool threads! KAT: Whether your riding quarter horse or a steel stead that makes potatoe sounds......... you ARE our resident Annie Oakely! LOL (and I can't wait to see what you send me out of your summer cast offs!) Eficka: I love reading your upbeat posts and your pics over on b4 and after thread are AWESOME! I'm horrible at personals.. so I don't mean to miss anyone.. I am forever grateful for all the imput on these boards.... it really makes me feel better when I'm dealing with knawing hunger pains and a not so supportive partner. I will say this for our youngster......... I have never been considered THIN, in my adult life I've lost 80 lbs 3 times and 20-30 lbs more times than I can count....... If I could of had this surgery back in my 20's I would have. Instead I lost, and then regained...... each time making it a little bit harder than the time before....... Depending on which YEAR you saw me in the store I would be in a size 12 or 24...... its the disgusted/disappointed looks of people who are clicking their tongue at the regain.... (they don't get it) Its the maintaining I desparately need to master...... Your mom loves you, but she doesn't understand... you will just have to prove her wrong. My own mother needs this surgery, but she doesn't even talk to me about it because ME going through with it is somehow making her feel like a failure because she is chicken or what ever. I am very close with my mom..... I talk to her daily, and also email daily... so for her to be so distant on this subject is hurtful, but THIS IS MY JOURNEY to take... as it is YOURS........ get your support somewhere else and I'm betting she will come around in time.
  21. I heard this one. and I used it on my boss!!!!!!!!!!!!! (can you say deer in the headlights)
  22. Today I have major hunger pains, so I ate a HB egg...... (the BANDSTER way) Nothing to drink Small Bites Chew, Chew, Chew (aiming for 30 times) IT IS HARD!!!!!!!!! Swallowing the egg (paste) was an exercise all on its own LOL It really made me realize how FAST and Urgently I eat.....
  23. Mine will be the price of a co-pay
  24. LauraJ: yes you will definately have to take them out.. ALL jewelry must come off.
  25. TammyJ: I just found out that my doc started using one in March! His nurse emailed it to me......... I started 1 week early on my own though!
