Good morning everyone, I had my first fill on yesterday, I was scared becasue I didn't know what to expect, it really didn't hurt as much as I thought it would, but it was a little un comfortable, to feel pressure. I was filled with 2.5 cc, I beleive that's what the dr said. If it wasn't 2.5 it was defintely 2. Back on liquids for a week, wow...
  2. I was back to work in a week, I have a desk job also, didn't need the whole week, but just took it for precautions.. was a little sore, brought my protein in zip lock bags and put juice in the fridge, purchased a shaker cup and I was good to go..
  3. Hi, I was banded on April 15th and when I went to my 3 weeks post op appt on May 11th I asked the question, could I sleep on my stomach. The dr told me yes, I tried to but I didn't feel comfortable. So I just sleep on my side and my back..
  4. I understand how you feel, that's exactly how I felt when I came out the liquids.. I was so excited and I wanted mash potatoes.. Enjoy.....
  5. Keep calling your dr if youre in that much pain, and if need be go to the er room. Make sure you're drinking a lot of protein, and juices.. I pray everything works out for you.
  6. Hi, there wow that's is soooo great.. I haven't really heard of anyone loosing this much in 3 months I will be 2 months pre op on the 15th and I haven't lost even half of that. I get my first fill on the 15th, maybe I will get a jump start, my goodness what did you do? You got me in suspense and I'm sure everyone else.
  7. Hi, you should be on full liquids now. and having at least 60 grams of protein. And you should be having Strained & thinned cream of white or rice cereal on strianed baby cereals.. you have can any kind of 100% fruit juices or 100% vegetalbe juice.. Dole is the best kind of fruit juice to me... and you can have create low fat soups, like potato soup, and other cambells soup, go in Walmart and look around... and all the other stuff which includes sugar free popsicles, surgar free jello, low fat yogurt (with out the fruit) try the trix ones for kids, there great and no fruit in is them. If you still feel bad after all this, contact your doctor. Hope this helps.
  8. Thank you Dr. Huberman, this was very encouraging. What a good analogy that was used. That really helped me being that I'm 7 weeks post op.

Hi, there I buy 100% Whey protein (EAS), but I purchase mine at Vitamin Shoppe, because they have different flavors, when I went to Walmart I didn't see a variety of different flavors but I have checked recently. I did purchase my baby foods from there, I loved pears, bannans and pears, and a couple of more I can't think of all the others.. but you have to try them first becasue they might be good to me and yucky to you.. My friend suggested sweet potatoes but they were nasty to me and she loved them.. it just depends on your tast buds.. As far as clothing, I didn't need anything but loose clothes, mines was outpatient so I went home the same day, I had a big dress on you can't have anything tight on the stomach... Good Luck on your surgery.
  10. Wow, that's awsome you are doing great. How many fills have you had? I'm 7 weeks post op and I go for my first fill on June 15th. I'm really looking forward to getting it, so I'll be able to loose more weight and eat less. I understand when you said you're getting a little bit more, because I am to.. But not as much as I was before surgery.. Keep up the good work...
  11. This is very informational for me and I'm glad I'm not the only one feeling like this, with no restriction. I was banded on April 15th and I go to get my first fill on June 11th, yeah.. I was beginning to think the same thing you were thinking.. Glad to know I'm not alone.. Restriction left about 4 weeks after surgery... tried to get in to get a fill by dr said no not yet, not healed... so the 11th is the day, kind of scared because I really don't know what to expect, I've heard some good storied on the blogs and then some bad... but everyones different, prayerfully I'll have a good story to tell.. a little nervous because my port is righ below my breast in the middle of my stomach... I'm scared about being poked in the stomach, anywhere else is fine.. but I k now its' going to work out... Thank you for sharing your story...
  12. Hi, when I was banded on April 15th a week later I had some drainage out of the largest incision, but I kept running fluids out, it wasn't hurting or smelling or anything, but I did call the dr and they advised me to come in the next day... if you don't feel comfortable I would just call the dr and see what they have to say. I went in he cleanded it up and expalined that sometimes you have drainage out of the incision because it doens't have anywhere elese to go, something of that sort, can't remember everything, but he said just to be on the safe side he gave me some antiobotics for 7 days to make sure I don't get an infection and all was well. Incision is healing up very well and looks pretty good to be done had surgery. So just call the dr's office if you want to be on the safe side, I'm sure everythign is fine with it.
  13. Hi, I'm 6 weeks post op, and I have lot about 20lbs to 23 lbs since the surgery. It flucates, I guess with water intake and all. I was told to focus on healing and then the additional weight will come off, I go for my first fill on June 11th. I haven't been getting that restriction feeling for about the last 3 weeks, so I;m defintely ready for my first fill.. Can't wait.. But I have been exercising and trying to maintain the weight and I do get hunger pains, I've been able to control them the best that I can, but I have had some slip ups... I was banded on April 15th. I haven't lost any weight either for about 2 weeks now. But I'm not to worried about that right now being that I have no restriction at all.. Don't worry you will be fine.
  14. Hi, yes I was banded on 04/15/09. And my incision is like that when I'm sitting down, or laying down. It's nothing wrong though.. but when I'm standing up it's not there, I know exactly what you're talking about. Like it's sucked in, I think it's just how we healed.. NO biggie... Mines have actually healed good..
  15. I think you need to call your dr to go in, On tomorrow it'll be my 6th week since being banded.. I don't get my first fill until June 11th.. Maybe you were filled to soon, I don't know, but I wouldn't take any chances, If you know you're chewing will and doing everything you suppose to, don't question yourself, call the dr that's what their there for...
  16. Wow, Congrats...I'm really looking forward to loosing this kind of weight that is awsome, keep up the good work... my booklet says to wait 15 minutes to an 30minutes.. Can you give me a sample menu of what you're eating on any given day? I was banded on April 15th 09 and I go for my first fill June 11th.. I'm looking forward to it..
  17. Hi, don't feel bad I weighed myself this morning also and I was up 2lbs... I beleive in my situation, I've been really contispated.. LOL and I've had to take a stool softne, I beleive the powder protein has me like this, I've still been on powder protein becasue I haven't been able to cosume the 60 grams of protein on meats alone... My stomach has been hurting for a couple of days.. I have an appt today with the dietican and I'm going to ask her how can I get more fiber into the diet.. You might be experiencing the same thing, or something similar. I also take a water pill (prescribed) from the dr and I take it every other day, so I didn't take it on yesterday (memorial) day so I must have extra fluid in me... At first I felt really bad also, but I'm fine.. Be encouraged it's ok... Hang in there and keep doing what you;re doing you might need to add a little more food also, becasue sometimes your body holds on to the food when it's so little...
  18. Hi, I was banded on April 15, and I was told by my doctor not to do anything jumping around or to much movement in the port area... until about 6weeks, because I am still healing, when I went to the dr on May 11th I speciafically asked him could I do anything exercises pertaining to the stomach area and he said no... to wait until about another 2 weeks.. Take it easy, you will be able to do anything you want in a couple more weeks... It's good you are able to run though, I haven't been able to run in years and I'm really looking forward to more weight loss so I can run in a 5k one day. when do you all go for your first fill? I go in on June 11th for mines.
  19. That's going to be a great day.... that' my birthday.. Congratulations, I pray eveything works out.. I'm be celebrating with you...
  20. I understand where you're coming from, 3 weeks after I had my surgery, my mom's and the orginazations she's involved in had a Mothers' Day dinner, I tried my best to talk my way out of it, but she wasn't having it, she knew I had, had the surgery but she wasn't giving in.. She through the you're not going to support me tactic in.. I was like OMG... Needless to say I end up going and I had a nice time watching everyone elese eat and enjoy there food. LOL...it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, but I thought, I would fall out when they took out that whole sheet Publix cake, which sweets are my weak spot, but a lot better since the bad.. I didn't fall out and no I didn't eat a piece. It's very important that you stay on the plan, especially the first month.. I brought my protein with me in a zip lock bag, and I asked for a water when it was time. I even brought my 100% Dole juice with me... I'm sorry you're faced with this but you can get through it.. yes use the excuse you don't feel good or you're coming down with the flu virus if you don't want everyone to know.. I'm glad everyone at my table knew I had it, so it wasn't so bad... I hope everything works out.
  21. Congrats on your band, I was banded on April 15th. And I haven't had a fill yet either... It's scary because I've been able to eat a lot more, than when I was first banded, but of course I'm still skeptical and taking it easy.. But what really scared me was, I was able to eat a crossiant sandwhich on yesterday, a whole one, I called the dr's office and asked could I come in sooner to get a fill, which my first fill is scheduled for June 11th. From what I've been reading that's the reasons for the fill, I haven't been as hungry as I was before, but I defintely understand where divaondean mentioned on her comment.. Hang in there we will all get through this together, it's so helpful reading everyone elses comments, that lets me know I'm not in this alone... divaondean hang in there be encouraged, I'm glad you didn't eat that food, it's defintely to early for you, hang in there. everytime I eat I burp for like an hr, it' doesn't hurt though, and I had vomited yet, thank God I'm so scared to, and I pray it never happens, I had a minor eposide the first week into the surgery eating a popscile, it came up a little but other than that, I've been fine. Keep me updated...
  22. Hi, you might have to check with your surgeon on that, because I was banded 5 weeks ago, and I was told I could only do walking. I wouldn't think anything would be wrong with riding a bike, but just don't over do it. But to be on the safe side I with speak with the dr first. Congrats on your band. You are doing great if you're ready to ride on the bikes.

I'm in a wow,, I was able to eat a ham crossiant this morning (a whole one) without any problems, I'm 5 1/2 weeks with the band, and I was told when I went to the dr's on May 11th that I was doing fine, on that day I was still restricted to eating, but since then 2 weeks later I've realized I can eat a little more, the dr told me on that day that I didn't have any filling in my band, and that on June 11th I would get my first fill. I called the dr's office today and told them I think I need to come before June 11th because I was able to eat a whole sandwhich The seceratary told me she would give me a call but I haven't heard back from her yet. Hopefully she will call me back on tomorrow. I'm not sure if anyone band has been empty like mine. But I'm stressing.. Any advice would be helpful.. Thanks in advance.
