  1. I do not know about Dr. Perez. But there are two Dr.'s at Cleveland Clinic in Weston who do the procedure, Dr. Rostenthal and Dr. Szomstein. They come highly recommended. I am having my procedure done by Dr. Szomstein. They require you to attend one of the seminars before meeting with the surgeon. You can call over there and ask one of the nurses, the number is 954-659-5239. Good luck!
  2. I bought Centrum chewable in Orange Flavor. I compared the ingredients to the Flintstones Chewable and it had more vitamin, including Folate, which Flintstone, I believe did not.
  3. (((((TRISH)))))))) Wishing you a speedy recovery! Stay strong.
  4. I just got back from Publix. I am loaded up with liquids, so you should see me floating down the road soon. I can do this, I can do this, I can do this.......
  5. Thanks for all the great support and advice everyone! Day one of the liquid pre-op diet has officially ended! I was starving, head pounding (TOM is coming too) and I really wanted to eat something, but didn't. Let me tell you, sugar-free jello and chicken broth never tasted so damn good! Tomorrow I will buy boxes of sugar-free ice pops and some diet peach snapple. I can only have clear liquids, not full liquids. I really wanted to eat a peach today, really really bad, and I never crave fruit, so you now how hungry I was. I also wanted to eat the steamed broccoli I made for my daughter, but refrained from that also, although I know it wouldn't have hurt me too much. I hope I can do this for 13 more days. I am keeping my goal in mind and trying to stay focused. If I didn't have this pounding headache, I could deal with the hunger. Oh, well. At least when banding day comes, I will be begging them to get it on me, instead of being scared, just to end this suffering. I just can't believe I will be on clear liquids for the next month. Hey, if it's the worst thing I ever have to endure, I shall consider myself extremely fortunate! I am so curious to see how much weight I drop during this phase. Imagine if I don't lose any??? I'm guessing 10lbs, anything more would be gravy.
  6. I'm so sorry you are feeling so sick. This is the one thing that I am frightened of. I was nauseas for a week after just having an upper endoscopy done, I can only imagine what will happen when I get the band. I also have no prescription insurance, so am hoping and praying I won't need additional medication. I hope you are feeling better soon. Please keep us posted.
  7. I am starting my full 2-week liquid only pre-op diet tomorrow. I, too, feel very ill when I am hungry, get terrible migraines and stomach gets sick feeling too. This should be an interesting two weeks. My poor poor family, and I have PMS on top of that :faint: .
  8. Thanks, Diva! It's also the week before TOM, so I should be a collossal grouch! I think I am in shock right now that this is really happening!
  9. Thanks Belle. So, you were allowed 1 meal per day in addition to the protein shakes? I am not, just liquid.
  10. I start tomorrow, 2 weeks of liquid pre-op. It's such a loooooong time. How did you all do it?? Any advice would be great!:help:
  11. Oh my gosh, Julie, you have lost 76lbs since April??? That is absolutely amazing! Congratulations!
  12. You look great. Congratulations! I know a TT is in my future too! Probably a breast lift or augmentation as well. But will take one day at a time, I'm not even banded yet. Thanks for sharing!
  13. Wow, Elisabeth. I am so happy you made it through that nightmare. That is my biggest fear of this surgery, the possiblity of a PE afterwards, but I try not to dwell on it. I, too, learned not to sweat the small stuff after a life-changing event when Lung Cancer came into my life. Not me, my Dad. It consumed my life for 2-1/2 years while he suffered with it, and now 2-1/2 years since he has past. I am finally ready to go foward with my life and get myself together, emotionally and physically. Some people never learn not to sweat the small stuff. We are fortunate to have learned that lesson, although the circumstances in which we did were terrifying. I wish you all the best.
  14. Do you have medical insurance? If so, if it were me, I would go to the ER and get some fluids in me via IV so as not to dehydrate. Let us know how you are doing.
  15. Thanks. I am definitely going to let them know. I don't think I take Vicodin too well either, along with percocet. I wish I could remember the name of the pain-killer they gave me in the hospital after my c-section. It worked great, but the dr. would write a prescription for it for me to take home, he said I could only get it in the hospital. He told me the name, but of course I don't remember.
  16. Well, I am so happy to hear this. I was under the impression no caffeine, forevah! What was I thinking????
  17. I cannot take codeine in any type of pain medication. It gives me horrible stomach pain. Does anyone else have this problem, and if so, what type of post-op pain medication were you given? What should I ask for? :help:
  18. UGH! I expect all this to happen to me as well. I hope you are feeling better soon!
  19. I really really enjoy my 1 cup of tea or 1 cup of coffee in the a.m. with caffeine. I usually don't eat breakfast, just the tea or coffee. Is anyone else still drinking 1 cup of caffeine in the a.m. I know they say no caffeine, so I was wondering. Thanks!
  20. My surgeon requires a 2 week liquid protein diet before surgery. He provides the liquid, so I'm waiting to see what type it is. I have one that I prefer myself. I am meeting with him on August 30, and probably start the liquid on the 31st! Yikes!
  21. I just received my surgery date! I will be banded on September 12, 2006. I had a choice of any Tuesday or Friday from 9/12 through the end of September, of course I chose the earliest date! Whoohoooo. I'm so excited!
  22. I am going to be banded on September 12, 2006. Cannot wait!! Less than 2 months since attending the seminar. I look forward to sharing and receiving information with all of you!:clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2:
  23. You look beautiful Alexandra! Congratulations!!
  24. I can't even believe I have this problem. I never had any symptoms, except for maybe a vitamin hurting once and a while while going down. I don't understand. I'm so upset. I know if my surgeon says no, then it just wasn't meant to be, but this really sucks!
