Today is my month (a little past) checkup. I am in "Bandster Hell." My first fill is next Wednesday, the 13th. I have lost about 20 lbs., but its a struggle now because I am hungry. AND I can eat just about anything. I have read some of your blogs about fills, and I am concerned that the first fill won't curb the appetite. I don't dread the fill, but I am concerned that I won't fill a difference with the first fill. Any thoughts??
  2. Best wishes to you! I will remember you in my prayers tonight and tomorrow. It's an exciting journey. Concentrate on rest and doing exactly what they say. I am 4 weeks post-op, and I feel wonderful.

I was banded on 3/30/09. I was allowed broth, SF popsicles, jello... The "free air" hurts! If you have a rocking chair, rock, rock, rock. Lay in your bed and "gently" roll a little from side to side. Walk, walk, walk... It does get better.

Congratulations! I know the feeling. It's amazing to stop and think how your future will be. I was banded on 3/30/09, and it's amazing!
  5. I was banded on 3/30, and I beginning to feel the same thing as you. I am hungry, and I am finding myself cheating. It's frustrating to say the least. My fill isn't until 5/13, and I am worried I will gain weight. I am keeping a food journal, and that helps. I am writing two daily goals that I try to focus on; i.e., no sweets or bread today. It's hard, but the process works. We just have to work the process. Hang in there. We'll make it together.

I was banded on 3/30. The emotions that you go through before the surgery are overwhelming at times. I was so excited one minute and scared to death the next. Something that you have to decide on is "Am I doing this for myself for for someone else?" Once I decided this was for me, I began to get my emotions under control. I also had to do some soul searching. I was totally addicted to food. It had become by idol. You know, it's a love/hate relationship. I am still struggling with the "head hunger" and thoughts of going out with friends on Saturday night. But I know in the long run, the lapband is the best solution for "ME." You will do fine. Keep reassuring yourself of your future. Best of luck to you! God Bless!
  7. I was banded on 3/30 so this is my 3rd week. My first fill is scheduled for 5/13 (which seems like a long time off). I am beginning to get worried. The feeling of being full is just about gone. I can eat more and I am worried that I'll over eat. I've hit my first plateau also. I know it's a process, but it's hard to get my mind to slow down. I want the weight to fall off yesterday. HA! Knowing how I ate in the past, it worries me that I won't be strong enough to make this lapband surgery a success. Signed...worried...

  9. Good Morning All, This is my first post to this website. It's a wonderful site, and I've enjoyed the information. I was banded 7 days ago (3/30). Yeah! I am having problems getting the protein drinks down. I was prepared before hand, and founds the one's I liked. Now, the taste is terrible, and they make me gag. Any suggestions? My energy level is zero right now, but I am sure that's to be expected. Signed, East TN Girl :smile2:
