Turns out I have an erosion of my band:(

The questions as to why I can't feel any restriction has been answered:confused:. Not the answer I wanted, but sometimes life hands you problems that you just have to deal with. Anyway after being filled to 8cc in a 10cc band with zero restriction my doctor took a closer look. Its seems that somehow my band has eroded:scared2:. Why no ones sure, but he removed all the fill liquid until further tests are performed. There is a strong possibility that my band will have to be removed. Since I never had any restriction I won't miss the band, but after all the money I paid I just feel like I've been cheated (I financed it through a medical loan). I'm not sure just what happens next but I wanted to share this with you guys. Apparently erosion happens to only a small % of banders, but what do u know I'm in that percentage. The band somehow becomes infected and attaches itself to the stomach instead of surround it. That's why I never felt it. Pray for me and I'll keep u posted.

My doctor put me on an appetite suppressant, LMAO!!!

So it's been about 3 months since my surgery. I have barely lost any weight & I am due my second fill tomorrow. I have zero restriction even after my first fill. Whats funny is my doctor put me on an appetite suppressant:rolleyes:. I've been working out and eating better since then, but it leads me to wonder couldn't I have done this without the band & $10000 debt, lol.   I'm not complaining, I just pray that I feel something, anything after this next fill. I have kind of forgotten that I'm banded & just try to be healthier. My total weight loss in 3 months 10lbs.:crying: I'll let u know how it goes...

First fill this week!!!

I have a question for everyone. When did you start feeling a restriction in your band? I have had my band for almost 2 months. I've 0 restriction & I've gained 15lbs sine I've had it:unsure:. I get my first fill this coming week, but after all the money I spent I'm just so disappointed I don't know what to do. My expectations r very low almost as low as my willpower with eating:frown:...

HELP!!!! I'm eating & gaining:(

Ok so it's week two. I moved on to soft foods and I have started cheating:crying:. I have zero resistance in my band and so I take a bite here and there and the result I've gain 5lbs. I had lost 9lbs after being on the liquid diet. Then I strated eating and I'm in trouble. I still have 4 weeks before I can get a fill, but by then I don't know how much I will have gained. I know I can't work out now so maybe once I heal and can work out things may be a little better. I feel like such a loooser!!! This is why I got the band in the first place. What am I going to do?

Not feeling so great:(

This is my day 7 and I'm still sore. My stitches r so itchy and I'm starving. I have moved on to soft foods(couldn't wait), but I have zero resistance so I'm always hungry. I'm also so gas-sy although that helps me not want to eat. I'm not usually the complainer, but I read others who r doing so well and I'm beginning to wonder if somthing is wrong with me.:thumbup:

I've been banded first day of the rest of my life...

So I got banded on wednesday in the DR. The surgery was fine and my doc sang praises, but I feel like I was run over by a bus. I've never had any sugery before so I didn't know what to expect, but my pre-op tests came back excellent and so my doc said lets do this. I caught a cold so it was double trouble. I thought I was dying I was hurting (still am) all over. Today, day 1 post surgery: I finally got to sip on water and apple juice and I'm starving I would do anything for just a bite of anything. Anyway we'll see how things go. I didnt think it would be this hard:frown:

Getting banded on Tuesday.

Hi everyone! I'm not a blogger but I need to share so here goes. I am going on monday April 13th,2009 to the DR to get banded. I'm doing this in secret and everyone thinks I'm going on vacation( I've only my sisters ). Anyway I'm so nervous & so ready. I didn't get approved in the US because they didn't think I was heavy enough, but after 32 yrs of yoyoing and having an unhealthy relationship with food, I need this help. I've been a size 2-18 and everything in between. I've done every diet, taken every pill, lived at the gym, but it always comes back:sad:. This is my last straw. WISH ME LUCK!!!:w00t:
