Is There a FEELING at the time of the Fill?
The first couple of fills I got I didnt feel anything. Now I have almost 8cc in a 10cc band and I absolutaly feel it when I get a fill. My doctor always pulls all of my fluid out before putting more in to make sure there are no leaks or anything and I feel in as soon as she takes it out and I almost gasp when she puts it back in. It isn't pain but it is a little uncomfortable! I suppose it is different for everyone though.

Smoking before surgery
I quit 3 months before surgery. My doctor takes your blood the morning of surgery and if you have nicotine in it they would not do the surgery. I figured that I had waited and worked so hard to have the surgery that I wasn't going to let a smoke mess it up!

Tomorrow is the day March30th
Tomorrow will come and go so quickly and everything will be great! You can fast forward a week and think about the start of your new life. It was about a week after my surgery and I realized my banding date wasnt just my banding date, it was the day I took control and started living my life. Best of luck to you!

My doctor said that was natural and sometimes it just happens. Its comming back in fine now. No worries it will stop! Oh and no one is gonna be looking at your hair with that skinny new body;)

Wow great article! Congrats to you on your success! Hey is mitchell the place with the corn palace? I think I drove through there once. haha

Gerd!
I also just recently started having acid reflex at night and it was not after a fill or anything. I have actually woke myself up choking on acid in my throat. If you find a fix let me know!
-
I found a valid use for soda pop...for me!
I was also always told NO liquids if you are stuck because the liquids sit on top of the food that is stuck and it becomes more pressure on the band which in turn causes more pain. The Coke however expands your pouch because the carbination will inflate your little belly just enough to let the stuck food go through or bring it back up.

How to get enough protein in?
BODYCHOICE NUTRITION I get their protein shots. 100 calories a piece and 25 grams of protein. I have only had the sunshine orange but its ok and only 3 ounces so it goes down quick. That should fix your protein problem.

Heartburn
My doctor always tells me that if I have heartburn to come in because I am too tight.
-
Sick of protein shakes!
i just bought some protein shots,, they actually arrived today! I will let you know how they are when I open them.

Too tight?
I completely agree, if you can stand it, I would give it atleast a week! I thought I was WAY too tight with my last fill but toughed it out and I think I found my sweet spot:) hang in there!

Stupid band, or stupid me?
YOU DO NOT HAVE RESTRICTION if yoan eat several cups of food. I have restriction and a 4th of a cup is max for me. You need a fill or you need to be checked because your little pouch should NOT be holding several cups of food.

Afraid to eat - Day 7 post-op
Oh don't be scared. Take small bites, eat slowly and you will be fine! I didn't have my first sliming or "stuck" episode until my 4th fill and 4 months after my surgery.
-
my band is slipped, will it ever be ok again
As far as I understand a replacement would be if you had it completely removed and a new one put in. A revision is fixing things like slips. If you have your insurance book it should tell you right in there.

my band is slipped, will it ever be ok again
Vicki most insurance companies won't pay for a "rebanding" persay but yours would be a revision and most insurance companies do cover one revision per lifetime of the member.

frustrated
Wow I am a year out and have 7.5cc in my band. I can't eat more than a 1/4-1/2 cup of food at a time. How much are you able to eat with the 7cc? I am just suprised how fast they filled you.

Coffee???
It is so funny how each doctor has their own ideas on things. My doctor actually encouraged coffee as a great way to get in my daily water intake.

frustrated! Need advice.
Yes, people will tell you to relax. I understand you are anxious but really you need to know this is NOT a magic fix that will suddenly make you skinny. You need to put in the work to see the results and right now your body is healling so you CAN"T put in the work. Once you are able to put in the work I promise you will see results. Until then best of luck to you!

Coach to 5k (who wants to run?)
I started running about a month ago. It was a struggle to go about a 1/4 of a mile. One day I decided to try and push myself to a half of a mile. Anyways, once i got to half a mile I felt like Forrest Gump. I just kept running until I hit 2.5 miles. I had an immediate breakdown and cried when I got off the treadmill. I walked outta the gym and said F$$$ Yeah I can do this! If I can anyone can! Good luck!
