Well, the big day is tomorrow! Is there anything you can think of you really would suggest I take to the hospital other then the normal things?
  4. Hi March Banders, My surgery date is tomorrow March 16, 2009. I would love to me part of the group. Have you got an official name yet?

Great. I have my choice and I am waiting to see how things go. Do you have someone to stay with you at home? My husband just retired this past fall so he will be with me.

I am having my surgery on Monday. Good luck to you on your weight loss. I had a very slow start on Weight Watchers and then switched to Atkins. I had lost 24 on Atkins and have lost another 4 doing my preop five day thing. This is my 4th day on the shakes and diet jello.

Thanks Kylie for your encouragement. I am looking forward to it all on one hand and on the other I am nervous.

I am having trouble understanding how to eat afterwards down the line. My book says I can only eat 1/4 cup a time, yet it also tells me how many servings a day of each food group I need and that would equal around a cup of food three times a day. What am I missing here?

Hi, I am a newbie too. I am scheduled for surgery this Monday and I am both excited and nervous too, but looking forward to feeling better and looking better. I am on the third day of my pre-op diet and feeling a little hungry.
  14. Hi, I am so jealous of you too. I started my preop diet three days ago and have two more to go. I can only have low carb shakes, diet Jello, Water and tea. I am also starving and then to think after the surgery on Monday it won't be much better for awhile, but I know I can do it. I just keep looking at the whole picture and this is what I really want. Good luck to you.

Hi, This is my first blog also. I am scheduled for surgery on Monday and I started my whole process in January of 2008. So it took me a yr. and two months. It would have been sooner, but at first I had trouble losing the weight I needed to lose on WW and then I tried Adkins and did fine and got more then the percentage I needed before surgery. All the rest of itSeminar, PMD visits, Surgeon visit and nurtitionist, psych visit, were done in a matter of like 6 mos. After I lost the weight; then I just had to do all my preop testing and physical exams and meet with the clinical nurse, and my PMD and then the NP.
  16. Hi, Just looking for some do's and don'ts from people who have already had their surgery. Mine is on Monday and I am in the middle of my preop. Doing pretty good; but it is sometimes hard. I am looking forward to my surgery, but I am a little nervous.
