  1. I have gone through all the hoops and now my insurance company is denying me because the hospital I chose is not a center for excellence??? :smile2: I just want to cry. Any ideas on whether I can appeal this or do I just have to start over at another hospital that is a center of excellence. I will not let this stop me but I need some advice.

I have 5 more days to go before my psych evaluation - and who knows how long for insurance to either approve or deny me. I was doing really well on my presurgery diet - had lost 20lbs. Somehow I have gained back 6 lbs just this week alone. I read about all these people being banded and just feel bummed because nothing is happening the way I want. I know quit complaining and practice patience.

  4. I am so happy for you!!! Way to hang in there.
  5. Wow! For some reason I thought I was alone in the embarrassing moments department. I have experienced all these and have one more: Playing softball for the company team but hating the thought of having to bat because that would mean I had to run to first base... I hadn't run in years. The pitcher walked me, thank God for small miracles, but then the batter behine me hit the ball and I had to run the bases. -OMG - I made it to second base but was running so slow I had to slide into third base, just like the old days when I played sports, right? NO, I forgot I was fat and slide but ended up about 4 feet short of the base. UGHHH! I have not played sports since. But I plan to play again and soon.
  6. Cool. I wish mine would move faster, but it seems as though I am the only one in a hurry to get it done. I see you have already lost almost 40lbs. That is so great. Thanks for the words of encouragment. I am loving this site already.
  7. How long did it take for you to receive insurance approval. I have been at this for 5 months and am just now getting my psych evaluation in a week and a half. As far as I can tell then I have to wait for my insurance to approve, is that right? How much longer do you think I will have to wait? I am so ready to get a surgery date scheduled I am going crazy!
  8. Hi, I am new to this site and becoming discouraged about how long this process is taking. I started in Oct. and and just now scheduled for my psych evaluation next week. I have changed my diet and started excersising and down 20 lbs, but I am anxious to have the banding done and start this thing for real. Any advice on how to get through the waiting period and the psych evaluation. I admit the evaluation has me a little nervous, I have talked to people who didn't pass and were denied the surgery.
  9. Well this is my first blog and I am only partially through with the pre-surgery gook. I am now up to my psych evaluation - about a week and a half to go for that. And I am terrified they will say I am not mentally equipped to have the surgery. Not sure why, I am pretty sure I am sane, but still nervous. For those of you who have been through all this, what type of time frame am I looking at until the actually surgery date. I know you can't give exact times, but ballpark would be nice. This is moving alot slower than I thought it would and I am just impatient. Anxiously waiting - Sweatiepie
