Hello All!

My surgery is scheduled for April 13th ! I am so nervous :huh2:. I have heard very little about any actual pain duing recovery. I have heard a lot about others being uncomfortable. I am a huge chicken :mad2:! Any other self proclaimed chickens out there? Any words of wisdom?

LAP-BAND Patients

Hi Christi, I will have been banded 3 years ago in June. For me the hardest part of all of it was the restricted diet for the month following surgery. The surgery was uncomfortable, but not too painful. In fact, I found I never had to use the pain medicine the Doctor had prescribed for me. Lots of newly banded folks actually have the band put in late in the week and go back to work the following Monday. Let the Doctor know you are nervous, maybe he can prescribe something for your nerves. You will be just fine, believe me, and it is all sooooooooooo worth it.

Size 22/24 before, now 16/14. AMAZING!!

LAP-BAND Patients

Hi,

I am a newbie too. I am scheduled for surgery this Monday and I am both excited and nervous too, but looking forward to feeling better and looking better. I am on the third day of my pre-op diet and feeling a little hungry.

I had the lb about 6 months ago. I came home feeling ok then started feeling terrible pain in my chest. I went back in they put me on an IV with antibiotics, fluids and pain meds. I wonder if I got an infection in the hospital. They did an xray and my band was fine. They never quite figured it out. I am glad I called right away I was home 4 hours when I started feeling bad. If you don't feel right afterward follow your gut. I stayed in the hospital another night and that really helped I was fine and doing great a few days later. I am down 45 pounds now. Good Luck
