I have Tufts, so can't help you there, but I did hear that Blue Cross is just as "easy" to get approved as Tufts is. Keep in touch with your progress! Everyone at BIDMC has been great, except the psychologist. But that is another story. lol

Pebbles I'm so glad you posted!! I think we can really learn a lot from each other, especially considering that we all understand what each other is going through. In my opinion you should tell him about the band. I know for me it would be a bit embarassing to discuss, but if you don't tell him now I think it will only snowball. If he wonders why you didn't tell him right away, just explain that this is your first relationship after the band and since it's so new, you weren't quite sure on how to bring it up. You want to be completely honest with him, which is why you're telling him now. My guess is that he will be completely cool with it. Let us know how it goes!

Good for you flabuless for not taking him back!! Anyone who is going to cheat on you like that does not deserve a second chance. And you are right that you deserve someone who truly accepts you as you are! You are FABULOUS and if this guy can't see it - good riddins! :clap2:

Since the holiday season is upon us, what about planning on meeting up at some point during the first half of January? Enough time for the hussle-bussle to go away, but not too long because I'd really love to meet everyone. Deb (rainbow) will be able to give us some dates that work for her shortly, and then we'll see what we can coordinate from there. Oh, and by the way -- Sherry is only 5 pounds from Onderland. Terrilen, I think you should meet him! Maybe just for coffee or something quick. You know'll that you'll have no problem chatting with him, and being attracted to someone in person is very different than over the phone. I've been attracted to many a man over the phone, but in person - nope. If you go, and there is still no spark, maybe you can remain friends as it is apparent that you enjoy talking with each other. It's worth a shot - I think you should go for it!

Hi Dez! Good to see you! Sorry to hear you've been having some trouble lately. I'm only 8 weeks in and I know already that this is no easy journey. Talk to Dr Jones like you said, and he'll be able to give you some guidance. Just keep plugging along - you can do it! I have soup pretty much every day for lunch. Mostly it's because it's easy, quick, and no one at work knows I've had this operation. Everyone just thinks I'm on a diet. lol. So Deb, do you know what days in January you'll be off from work? Since you live the farthest and work crazy overnight shifts, I think we should get your available dates first. Then we can try and plan something from there. It was so great to meet Deb, I can't wait to meet everyone else as well! Speaking of which, Nana how ya doing? I have seen you in a while. Kay - only 18 days left until surgery!!! Hi everyone! Just one more day left of the work-week. Thank GOD! lol Bean - yes the naseau is gone now, thanks for asking. I've had a good day. I can definitely feel restriction and have had no problem getting food down. Granted I'm on liquids. lol. I'm jealous of your short day, but not the snow and ice! I am NOT looking forward to it. It was 65 degrees here in MA today. We've been very lucky so far this year. Watch, I've just jinxed myself. lmao Kat - I have to agree that I think it's so weird how all the doctors recommend something different. I'm on liquids for 3-4 days, then mushies for another 3-4 days. Here's my thought on why the April group are all finding themselves slipping lately. I'm sure you've all lost a good amount of weight and are thrilled with how you look. You're not at goal or anything, but you're feeling so much better about yourselves and you're liking how you look more, so eating right has become less of a priority. You guys will get back on track. I know it! Well I gotta run and cat-sit for my parents. Ugh! Catch you all later!

Yep Sherry - one poke was all it took. It wasn't that bad, and you know I hate needles. The area around my port is a little numb since surgery, so I think that worked it my favor. lol. It was a weird sensation though. My stomach felt very uncomfortable while he was putting it in, then I was a bit naseous after. Granted I had only had 2 hard boiled eggs all day so that might have contributed to it. But I am so happy to have my fill and feel like I'm now "officially" going to be living the banded life!

Hi everyone! Just wanted to check in and say hi. I just came back from the doctors and got my first fill! Yeah!!! Looks like Anne and I had fills on the same day. He gave me 1.5cc. Oh my! I just assumed he'd start with 1cc. He said he will not even consider giving me another fill for another 4 months, so I don't see him until March. He had me chug a glass of Water to make sure I could keep water down. I just had some Soup, and then went down fine but I can definitely, definitely feel restriction. That's what I signed up for, so I'm ready!! I can't wait to lose some more weight! lol Hope everyone is doing well!!

Oh wait a minute! Deb I just noticed that you have lost almost 50lbs since you started this journey in May. And with no fill! That is AWESOME!!!! You go girl!

So as you guys can see - rainbow and I were able to meet! Yeah! It was soooo great to meet you in person Deb! We were talking about planning a get together maybe in January. Also, BIDMC is having a reunion in March for weight loss patients from the past two years. We should all definitely make plans to meet while we're there! So I had my first fill today. 1.5cc's. I was surpised at the amount, because I really thought he would start with 1cc. lol. When I asked him why he was so aggressive with the first fill he smiled and said that he just had a good feeling about that amount. Then he made me chug, yes chug, a glass of Water. lol. But so far so good! I just had some Soup and it definitely went down much, much slower. I'm ready to start losing some more weight, so I'm excited to have my fill!

I bet you could have had those dates, but I understand that is very hard to put yourself out there and ask someone out. I've done it a couple times, and it's hard! lol. Wootsie - I think it's wonderful that you are telling these guys that you're intersted! You deserve to have a wonderful, loving man in your life and if these guys aren't interested - it's their loss! Even just to cuddle. It's tough to not have that, but making it through these times does help you have a better sense of self and make you stronger. And don't ever settle. You deserve to find the guy that is totally into you - and you'll find him! Road Queen - I think it's awesome that you had the guts to move to a foreign country. What a great experience it must be! I don't think I'd be too thrilled with passing around the same guys either. Don't blame you there. But how nice to have the 20 year olds hitting on you. What a boost for the ego!

Hi everyone! Sorry I haven't been around much. Things have been very busy around my way these days. Work is crazy crazy crazy. Ugh! Why can't we be independently wealthy?! lol Oh Kat - who shall I be kissing under the mistletoe? I can only hope it will be some hottie, but not the way things have been going with me lately. lol. Although this weekend I did hear from a couple of guys I used to date. One professed his undying love for me (all set thank you) and the other made me an interesting "offer" for companionship if you catch my drift. And THIS is why I am still single. lol Hope everyone is doing well!

So this weekend I went out with a couple friends to a bar, and engaged in the most searing eye contact with a major hottie. I couldn't believe he was looking back! lol. Totally out of my league but I got such a rush from the eye contact. Alas my friends wanted to leave early, so we did. Maybe next time I'll bring new friends! lol

I have had the most bizzare couple of days men-wise. I thought this was the perfect place to share. lol So last January I joined Match for a few months and had met some guys. The first guy I went out with had his mother die shortly after our first date. It was unexpected and horrible! We've kept in touch over email and have met up a couple times more, but all just as friends. I haven't seen him in maybe 4 months. So Wed night I was on AIM, and ran into this guy. We chatted for a bit, ended up talking about Christmas and how I always wait until the last minute to wrap. He said I could come over and he'd wrap for me, then made a joke about me wearing a Mrs. Claus outfit. lol. Well within a matter of minutes the conversation completely turned and out of nowhere he just kind of throws out that if I'd like to come over and get some action, he'd be game. I was so caught off guard that I asked him if he was joking. And he wasn't. lol What's so weird is that he and I have never even kissed. I was just so shocked I didn't know what to say. lol. He just did not seem like that kind of guy. I think he felt bad after and kept apologizing. I told him it was ok, but that it was not really my style. It was just so bizzare! So the next night I was back on AIM, and ran into another guy that I dated for little bit over the summer. This guy called me every day, and pursued me hardcore. A little over a month into it he started acting weird and a bit shady, and we decided to stop seeing each other but remain friends. We'll chat every once in a while, but that's about it. So Thursday night we're chatting and he basically professes his undying love for me. How he thinks about me every day, regrets that we stopped seeing each other, and that he was scared and ran away. He'd like to take me out on a date again, etc, etc. I still think he's shady and just a smooth talker, so I politely told him no. Again, just so random and bizzare. My friends always joke with me that I am a "weird-magnet", and it's so true! lol. They don't seem weird at first, but give them a little time and weirdness always comes out. lol. Anyway, I thought these stories were funny and that you guys might enjoy. Hope everyone is doing well!
