  1. I'm looking at clipless soon...speedplays huh? Are they beater style? I need to do some research, because the aerobars, the clipless pedals and the new 21 tires are all going to be added during my bike class next week! Gloria (that's her name) is getting a make over.
  2. TX I share custody of my daughter with my Ex. I have my daughter that weekend. I won't give up my weekends for much of anything. Including a ride. That's what I meant. I'm still a D but by the time I get to my goal weight I'll be lucky to be a B. and I'm not talking cycling speed.
  3. For support on the belly/bottom half you could try Spanxs or cycling shorts. They do give you some squeeze. I've only felt my port when I'm doing the leg press and my stuff is all pushed and rolled up between my hips and my chest. Monica, I'm surprised you're unable to sleep on your stomach. Have you discussed that with your doc? That would make me too sad.
  4. This is of little help to you now, but I want to write that book. It's on my plan for 2009 when I get done with my MBA and lose all this weight! Sorry I can't help you out.
  5. BrandyK- One way to consider these people without losing your temper or your mind is to think about success with the lapband. It is a bell curve. Think back to statistics. The average person is at the top of the curve but it takes 50% to stack the lower half. That's where these people come in. You with your committment will be well above average, one or maybe even two standard deviations from the norm. I plan on being in the very successful end of the curve. And think, better them than you down there in unsuccessful land.
  6. W- When are you coming to Columbus? I'll certainly catch you for a coffee or drink. Or if you bring your bicycle, a ride. Let me know,
  7. C At the end of last season I was a very low B. I'm a solid C, and the goal is to be a solid B this year. I want to average 17mph.
  8. RAIN Nevermind, it's a kiddie weekend.
  9. TX Come on up to Ohio for TOSRV which is some Tour of the Scioto River Valley on Mother's Day weekend, and it's two centuries back to back. It could rain and 25 miles of it is HILLY. I'm shooting for the whole 200. HP- Are you going to look into doing RAIN? Ride across Indiana? I want to find that date. It's 160 in a day. BG, we should see if we can do it.
  10. Oh, is that all??? W, That's FREAKING FANTASTIC!!!!! i
  11. It occurs to me as I just went to look at my blog, that I started it two years ago. I started this entire journey two years ago. Wow wee. I've had other blogs, I know they are so like, 2001, and that's about when I started writing. Just an intersting note.
  12. I got to meet C today! Hi-C! Like the drink! LOL! The LBTers in central Ohio got together and C drove the 1.5 hours to join us. Well that and her DD wanted to shop at the fancy mall that met at. It was a great meeting and C is very bike-eee. BG, HP, B if you are back in the midwest, we all have to do the Labor Day ride in C's neck of the woods. It was really nice to meet up with a bunch of folks who have the band or are about to be banded. I've not known anyone local, so it's a real pleasure. Happy happy.
  13. Hey everyone, It was so good to meet you all. Next time I want to talk more with you gals at the other end of the table. See you in a month! Juli
  14. Yo J-Baby. It's been a minute since I stopped in and checked your progress. Glad to see your sernomas are resloving. I'm sure not being able to run has got to have you down. Do you have some running objectives for the spring/summer? Is work going well? Are you buying some new fantastic clothes? Catch us up! Juli in Ohio
  15. I like the laughing cow and the mini babybells. I also have taken to eating fancy cheeses. Since being banded I've taken to learning about cheeses and wine. Little bits of strong flavored foods seem to be my new thing. cheese can pack a flavorful punch.
  16. I've not had problems flying. I don't think you need to worry. As for foods it's easy to find Soups and eggs in most places. As for your son, just tell him you're being careful about calories and avoiding carbs. I'd not get unfilled. I'd just be very mindful. HTH
  17. Oh wow, those are some great or horrifying depending on your pov, stories. LOL I needed a few weeks before I could write about mine, Pamela you get props for posting on the same day! I know there have to be more, come on people.
  18. I belly danced at my highest weight. Too much moved independantly and I just couldn't handle it. I think it might be fun now.
  19. Yo, Jess. Where in Ohio are you? I'm in Columbus...
  20. BG, Isn't funny how you don't always get want you want? How was the cycle shopping?
  21. The only thing that a reasonable friend might feel badly about is the fact you couldn't trust her to tell her your plans. Friendships shouldn't hurt or induce gulit. I'm sorry there's something in the way of fully expressing yourself with your pal.
  22. PB stands for productive burping. Which is bringing up what can't go through. HTH
  23. C It's is so hard to wait, but girl you'll be a hottie by summer. You'll be a bicyling babe along side the rest of us. There's enough stuff to worry about that you can influence, there's no need to stress yourself over something you can't. April will come. Trust me, I'm counting every day with dread. My thirties end in April.
  24. Who wants to play, “Worse place I’ve ever PBed” game with me? I know it will freak out the newbies, but I see the humor in the hard or embarrassing lesson learned. I’m not advocating weight loss by way of PBing, holy cow though do we have some crazy stories out there. Any takers? Here’s mine: A few weeks back I had an early flight. In the rush to get to the airport we passed on breakfast and coffee. Once we were situated in the concourse area of the airport I stood in a long line to get coffees, a muffin and a pecan roll. I thought I’d get the muffin, but my friend opted for it. So I was left with a pecan roll. What the heck I thought, I was HUNGRY, but then they started boarding the plane! I gobbled my food. They took my boarding pass let me walk down the thingy to get on the plane and I knew I was gonna hurl. There were people in front of me, and behind me. You know it is waiting to get your seat on a plane. I rooted around in my bag and found souvenir bag, emptied as fast as I could and urped right there. Whew. Got to my seat did it again with this poor stranger shoulder to shoulder with me. I tried to be dainty and discreet…but ugh. I feel pretty fortunate that I’m quick to PB when I error. There are some who agonize for hours before they get rid of the stuck food. So do tell. Give us your story.
  25. oh, oh, I'm an 18 Now....I can't wait to rummage in your bag of stuff! Sa-weet!
