So Babygrl1234 and I met on the bycyling thread here on LBT. She was banded a month before me. We've become friends and have gotten together a few times in the last year. Our little girls like each other. Well between her house in Michigan and my house in Ohio is Cedar Point amusement park. We met there yesterday, just the two of us and spend the day riding ROLLER COASTERS because, well, we could. And drumroll please...................WE FIT!!! The inital panic, "I think I'm too big." "No, you're fine, but I'm scare I might be." "We both weigh less than 200 pounds, it said on-line, 200 was the max weight for females." "I know but my image of myself is distorted." You see I didn't put who said what because it could have been either of us at one point because we had the conversation a few times before it really sank in. But every ride, every seat worked! We walked around for 10 hours too. Good times. And how about two thumbs up to turning virtual friends into genuine friends. Thanks LBT.

I go with the second opinion suggestion. Some folks do well on super low calories. Some folks do not. I'd ask many why kinds of questions from your doctor and don't stop until you feel certain of his logic. Good luck

I get your point. And it's EXACTLY that kind of thing you refer to with the valley girl "language". I could be really wrong here, I'm not a linguist nor a sociologist, nor am I really the appropriate person to speak for a culture I only overlap with, but am not a part of. However, when you look at young adult black men and the forces on their lives in America, a powerful way to band themselves together and keep others out is via language. Just like 15 year old girls did with valley girl speak. Yes it's bigger and reaches further in scope than what we did in our homes in the 80's...You touched on the language of their parents, you touched on a couple of things. We all use differnt language depending on whom we are speaking with. I drop the F bomb with my friends but not with my boss and certainly not around my child, we edit depending on our audience. Those young players may be very actively choosing their audience, their peers to speak to, and not really give two cents if you get them or not. Or, they may not yet grasp the scope of the audience and haven't tailored thier messages. It's an interesting conversation to be sure. You are NOT digging a whole, but I dare say there might be other perspectives from which to look at the situation you've not considered. I'm sure I'm missing some too. Over and out.

!!!WE FIT!!! Cedar Point = Giant roller coasters, too much sugar, sightings of bra abuse, and lots of walking! And we didn't get pooped on thanks to my keen eye. Our biggest tragedy were BG's sunsglasses getting broken on the very fast upside down roller coaster. Good times, good times indeed.

I see that you aren't going to say something, but if you do get that point where something needs to be said, an easy conversation starter is, "Why would you say that?" and then sit back and let your co-worker answer you. She will reveal more about herself than she will about you or your easy way out. And a way to end the conversation is to say we all chose different paths in life. I'm happy for the opportunities my choice has afforded me. I wish you the same joy. I can tell you, she'll think about that conversation afterward, promise.

That just goes back to the idea that money can not buy you everything, well not at least immediately. You've got to be trained to speak publically. And in the players defense, if you notice often as their career evolves their deportment evolves as well. So take someone not trained to speak publically stick a microphone in front of him and let the words roll out...I don't care who it is they are going to sound like an idiot. And true some people don't want to change how they come across...

Yo Ready. I'm here but not much to talk about. I'm busy inundating the straight people with my gayness on the regular boards. I actually left that alone on the Rachael Ray board because it wasn't worth the fight, but you know let me rant here for a minute. I certainly talk about being gay openly on here. I talk about my life in general all the time. If I have to hear about heterosexuals talk about spouses, boy friends, girl friends etc they are obligated to hear me talk about my personal life. I mean if I were on a board where no mentions of personal relationships were required then by all means I'd not talk about that piece of my life, but damn.... It just kills me that since I refer to being gay once in about every 200 posts then I'm overly gay. Ugh.

I say we talk Dan and Alison into partnering. She'd make the man cry like a baby.

Thanks, It has everything to do with having my fill way too tight. I have an appointment in 2 hours to get some taken out. But yeah, I hate to admit I was pleased to see that on the scale this morning. I expect when I rehydrate it will go back up. But I'm claiming it!!!

All things being equal if you don't want to go to his area then he is not the right doctor for you. Not get preachy, but this might be a time to give a note of thanks to everyone who has made your life such that you never have to drive through an economically depressed area, let alone live in it. But yeah it'd be a different story if there was only one surgeon and that was where he was located. I'd tell you to see him anyway. :thumbup:

You kill me with that. I'm a huge lesbian and she's never struck me as gay. I swear I thought you were going to say you thought she was a man posing as a woman or something.:thumbup: But dude, she might be a tom-boy but she never tripped my gay-dar. And watch out it's the super girlly ones who are going to surprise you for liking the other girls.

For the most part, do as you were taught when someone says something nice to you. Say, "Thank you." and then if you want to keep talking but not about yourself, say, "Did you get your hair cut? is that a new blouse? I love that color on you...." turn the conversation around to the complimenter. Or I've been known to say, "Thanks, I've got a bit to go still." or "awe shucks, it's nice of you to say something" But move on to the weather or something quickly if you uncomfortable. As for the, "You can tell?" I think that opens people up to many possible horrible things I'd never want to hear. "Like hell yeah I can tell you were HUGE!" or "I wouldn't have said something if I couldn't tell, I noticed, I said something, it's obvious I can tell." Now I'm projecting mean onto the very nice people. Don't let this get to you, it's only going to happen more.

I don't dare say out loud that I'll be there because always, ALWAYS something comes up. But it's my intent to make it. Amy, yes please do come and bring your little one.
