  1. Congrats!! I am so close to that mark that I can taste it. But, like you, I have been dealing with a couple pounds that just don't want to move.
  2. The c/s was worse. My first c/s was horrible, but my second was pretty easy. Being banded was a breeze!
  3. Best of luck to you with the breastfeeding when that time comes. I successfully breastfed both my boys, although I was not banded when I had them. My first son was bf till he was 12months and the second was bf till he was 16months. It was the greatest experience.
  4. I lost 0 pounds, but I didn't gain any either. I'll admit it, I didn't really diet. I did exercise like my ins required, but I didn't really watch what I ate.
  5. WOW, You look like a completely different and new woman. Congrats!!
  6. I'm curious about the drinking too. My 30th is next month and I don't plan on getting drunk, but I would like to be able to have a few.
  7. I was banded the same day as you and I have the same issue. Two of my sites that have scabs, I also have a stitch coming out. I just snipped it a little and have left it alone. My sites seem to be healing well, so I figure the stitches will go away on their own.
  8. I mourned food. The night before I started my liquid diet I actually broke down crying and tried to eat as much of my favorite food as possible. It did get better, but those first 3 days are the worst. Best of luck to you.
  9. I had my wisdom teeth surgically removed on Wednesday and I am still feeling like crap. I maybe get a protein shake and a bowl of soup down a day. I have lost nearly 7 pounds in 4 days. This was not what I had in mind when I wanted to lose weight. My band surgery was a piece of cake, this is killing me.
  10. I dropped 26 pounds on mine and most of that was in the first week. My surgion never told me of a specific weight to lose. It is mainly about shrinking your fatty liver. Good luck.
  11. I understand why they call it bandster hell now. I hate that I can eat ANYTHING right now. I am trying my best to limit my intake, but it is so hard. I had a good restriction up until about a week after surgery. Now everything goes down with ease. I haven't lost anything for a week and it is very frustrating. I still have 3 more weeks till a fill and I can't wait. I havent really had too many food restrictions because I could start mushy foods 2 days after surgery. And now I can get anything down as long as I chew really good. Please tell me others are going through this! Bamablondie1 - I didn't have that, but I have heard a lot of people talk about how they did. It actually seems kind of common.
  12. I am sharing all of your excitement with the 299! I stepped on the scale today and that is what it read. I have been lingering at 300 since Monday.
  13. I was told as long as you were not taking any pain meds. I had my surgery the same day as you. By Monday I felt fine enough to drive.
  14. Sorry to hear those of you who are having a tough time getting back to normal. I generally bounce back pretty quick after surgery. I feel really lucky to be one of the ones who went right back to work. Surgery on Thursday and back to work on Monday. I must be crazy, but I go in for surgery again a week from today to have my wisdom teeth taken out. EEK. I'm more scared for that than I was the band. For those of you who are back to eating a half way normal diet: How do you make it through the day without getting hungry all the time. I am on soft foods and it seems like I am starving. I am trying to limit my intake and not have many snacks through the day.
  15. Merry Christmas early everyone. I am a week out from surgery and feeling fantastic! I still have some soreness in my port area, but other than that I feel great. I have been able to start eating soft foods and that feels good. It is hard to limit yourself once you are finally able to eat. I took my kids to Burger King for lunch today and I made sure I had a protein shake before we left. I nibbled on just a few fries, so I think I did pretty good. I hope everyone is doing well with their bands!
  16. I already have a food confession. I broke down and had a piece of pizza. Let me say is was yummy, but I feel guilty. I know we are going to have weak moments, but I wasn't expecting it so soon. I guess because I'm finally getting back into eating I couldn't help myself. I can't wait for my first fill and maybe then I wont feel so bad when I wont be able to eat as much.
  17. I was able to have mushy foods 2 days after being banded. I don't know how some of you do it for so long after. I would be absolutely starving.
  18. Good luck everyone who is being banded this week. I am 4 days out and I am finally starrting to feel like myself. I am I am so excited that I have lost 30 pounds since the beginning of all this!
  19. I was told to wait 2 weeks.
  20. I pureed some chilli for lunch and it was actually really good. I had some lasagna for dinner. I just made sure to chew really well.
  21. lpglarry - I was on just water the day of surgery. The next day i could have some jello. I am now 2 days out and I am allowed mushy foods. For lunch I blended up some chilli. It was actually pretty good. My biggest problem is not drinking while I am eating. And it is hard remembering to not gulp what I am drinking. I mainly over did it yesterday by just moving around too much. Tonight should be interesting. It is the first of many Christmas parties we have to go to. My grandma is making me mashed potatoes since I wont be able to have much of what they are eating.
  22. Well I think I over did it yesterday. My port site is pretty sore today. But I can't get over how yummy applesauce tastes. It is a weird feeling to have my tummy growling, but I don't feel hungry. I am actually having to force myself to eat and drink. And taking sips of water is difficult too. I'm not use to that.
  23. My insurance didn't cover mine and it was $400.
  24. I do believe I got so hungry that I was no longer hungry. It is like I ignored the pain for so long, it finally just went away. I lost 26 pounds during my pre-op diet, but it seems like I lost the majority of it in the first week and then it went slower the second week.
