December Bandsters 2009
I admit, I cheated a tad during my 2 week pre-op diet too. I would have a bite of something every 3 or 4 days. Shoot last night I had a small bowl of chilli as my last meal before being banded. That 2 week diet can be a killer. I think you would go crazy if you didn't reward yourself with at least a taste every now and again.

December Bandsters 2009
I am home from my surgery. All went great. The actual surgery took about a hour. And I was heading home 3 hours later. My only pain is at my port site. I don't even have gas pains. It is just hard because my kids don't understand. My 16 month old just want me to hold him and I can't. It breaks my heart that I can't hold him. But I have a good support system at home to give both my kids extra attention. Best of luck to everyone. I am excited and still in shock to say that I am officially banded!

Tomorrow morning I am being banded. I am ready, but scared of surgery and the recovery time. Nerves are definitely sinking in.

Biggest Loser TV and how they use the Bodybugg
That is interesting. I will have to look that thing up. I did read that it takes 3500 calories to equal 1 pound. Makes more sense as to why it take so long to lose weight.

Only a couple more days for me. I'm getting so excited. Mine is O/P and I have a 4 hour ride home too. My sad news is that I am now getting my wisdom teeth taken out on the 30th. I will be put under for that as well. I have had it cleared with both drs to have both surgeries 2 weeks apart. But I would much rather be doing the lap band surgery that is for sure!! What kind of band is everyone getting? Mine is the Realize.

I can't believe I am so close to surgery!! I have lost around 22 pounds on my liquid diet, but the scale hasn't moved for a few days. I would think only putting 800 calories in my mouth would make the weight just fall off. I haven't been exercising a whole lot because of the crappy weather we have had. I did eat a cookie last night because i was overly stressed out and my kids were driving me batty. I'm so ready for the scale to start moving down again. Good luck to everyone getting banded this week!

Getting filled after pg and establishing breast feeding . . .
If I remember correctly, you use up to 500 calories a day just breastfeeding. I would hold off on the fills. You have time to get that baby weight off.

Don't know what it feels like to be "normal" sized & scared!
I'm in the same boat. I have always been heavy and I'm not sure what I will be like thin. Congrats on your weight loss so far. That is fantastic!!

anyone have PCOS-polycystic ovarian syndrome?
I'm a member over there and have been since 2002. I have 2 beautiful sons thanks to a wonderful RE. Our main issue was male, even though my PCOS got in the way too. I'm hoping the band will help me get my weight under control and possibly try for a third child. Your pcos can not be cured. It is something that you will have the rest of your life. It is something that you can get under control whether it be through medication or diet and exercise.

It has been forever since I have checked in. I am now on day 7 of my liquid diet and I am down 18 pounds. I had no idea I could lose that much weight that fast. I have surgery in one week and I am so ready. This weight loss definitely has me motivated!! I am so not looking forward to all the Christmas goodies that will be staring at my as we visit family this holiday season. But so far I have made some goodies around here and haven't even had 1 bite of it. motomom - good luck. I couldn't imagine pumping and dumping. When I started this journey my little one was 6 months old and only breastfed. I was so paranoid of being banded and bf'ing. I even made a post about it. Luckily it is very doable!

My liquid diet starts today. Last night I was seriously morning food that I will not get to eat at all these next two weeks and food that I will probably never get the rest of my life. I actually had a big bowl of rice last night, since that is on the list of food you shouldnt eat.

My pre-op appt is tomorrow. I'm so nervous. I start my liquid diet then on Thursday. Well, it isn't a full liquid diet. I can have a few things. I can't believe it is getting so close. I have to check in more ofter. I had 3 pages to catch up on.

Hard to believe that December starts this week! I went and ate at my favorite chinese buffet for lunch as I start my liquid diet this week. I am happy to say that it didn't taste near as good as I remember it to. I am so eager for my appt on Wednesday to get all my pre-op ready.

I know how you feel. Some days I don't get a moment to myself let alone a chance to really think about what I am putting in my mouth. I have a 3 yo and a 1 yo plus I run a home daycare. I watch 5 kids and they keep my hopping. Congrats on making it all work!!

Riding a roller coaster is a good one. Dh always hates that I wont go with him, but I just cant break down and tell him the real reason I dont want to go. Wearing a bathing suit at all. I usually just wear a tshirt and shorts.

I definitely want to lose 125, but I think another 25 would be my all time goal. Does anyone have anything they plan on doing once they lose the weight? I plan on going into Victoria Secrets and buying a bra! Sounds corny, but I have never been able to buy a bra from them and I want that experience.

Will your Fat Jeans be your LEGGacy??
My surgery isnt for another month, but a couple weeks ago I had to go out and buy a new pair of jeans. These are the largest size I have ever bought. So yes, I will be forever keeping those jeans to remind myself of where I am now and how I will never be this size again. My husband even suggested keeping them so show my progression.

At last my time has come...
Congrats!! I had to jump through a lot of red tape too and was over joyed to finally get approved. I literally cried on the phone with the insurance woman.
