ON Oprah today she said losing weight is a decision...We decided to get a lap band ...We must decide to do our part...and i believe if we play by the band rules to the best of our ability we can do great things for ourselves:scared:

I started with such a high BMI ( 59) i expect it to be easy for a while ......I was clear liquids last week...this week full liquids next week mushies...after that week real food ..I drink something constantly water, crystal light, some jucies..........protien shakes....

I am one week out today and lost 9 lbs for a total of 20!!! This has been so easy!!

Drifter I will find a way to eat steak also even if it has to be expensive cuts....That is one thing I love........I was just banded 6-12 so I have a way to go till I get steak....but I love bb qing

Hi meow I see you are in Vegas there are a few of us in town who went to Dr Joya in Puerto Vallarta MX ........we all had great experiences

I was banded by Dr Joya and have nothing but praise for the Hospital and staff...........No complaints at all!!!

:clap2: I was banded Jun 12th this week by Dr. Joya in Puerto Vallarta Mexico...In the Cornerstone Hospital which was very clean...and well staffed........everything went fantastic!!!! I feel great!!! Thank you all for the well wish e-mails!!!! :kiss2: Linda

I need to know what kind of prices are quoted around the country. Please include in your post: 1) Area of USA 2) Price with and without fluoro 3) Type of Provider, (MD, APN etc) 4) Is that provider a "bandster? I am trying to gather this info for a friend of mine...thank you....

Wow really I come here to learn wannabelean you posted that at 1:11am and by 2 am you have a different attitude toward her problem!!!! We people come here to learn about the band but from the different tones to your posts someone is lying and it is unfair for those of us loooking for the truth!!!!!! And then you said something about people posting in the middle of the night?????? Unbelieveable That is why these boards cannot be taken seriously when researching a doctor!!!! I am not saying misfortune is not telling the truth but wow wannabe you have just shot holes in her boat big time!!!! What to believe what to believe?????????? There will soon be another option for fills in Las Vegas....when it is available I will post..........It will all be under flora.........To heck with these Vegas gastric Dr.s who think they are so fantastic....We will have a bandster in the medical field who will help us all...........

GeezerSue.....I corrected my post the local Dr is Fisher.......what you said is what I keep telling my clients when I say I am going to Mexico because of the experience they have compared to the DR's here in Las Vegas.......The thing that kills me is their attitude about touching us after...The gal at DR Tengs office told me pay now or pay later!!!!! Another slap on the wrist from a Las Vegas gastric doc........They will see you but you will pay....

Jboy...I too live in Las Vegas and I called Fisher/Atkinson place since they are the best in town and been to the seminar twice.... ......I was told by the lady who answered the phone don't go to Mexico they sometimes put the bands in upside down! And Fisher charges a 3000 up front payment to take you on as a paitent after going to Mexico .... fills extra...........I guess its his little slap on the wrist......Considering I know from Inamed saying they have sat on the same "board of experts" at times........So even though Fisher is all warm and fuzzy and loves Ortiz you still get charged 3000......Sure I would love to stay and have the Fisher group do my band but HPN does not cover bands:mad:

My son loves the morningstar "burgers" I actually warmed them up on the bbq last night and they were quite tasty

Hi Alysha I am also getting banded by DR Joya Jun 12 and post on his board also....My son saw a film in Social Studies 2 mos ago and he became an instant vegetarian..I am trying to get him to eat fish....So since meat is a problem...I decided I may go the same route I would be happy to any person already banded to share some favorite recipies that are band friendly....Linda

I have been a Hairdresser for 27 yrs...I am in Las Vegas...Love what I do...I know my knees will thank me!!! So many of you are in the medical field I am glad to see that!!!!! It gives me comfort!!! To be banded June 12 :clap2: DR. Joya Puerto Vallarta
