I guess it would be up to you....I know people unfill for health reasons( like they need more calories)......I suppose the same could be done if you chose to eat more on your vacation.....The port can withstand I believe close to 200 punctures......If you are self paying your fill provider should do what you ask and pay for......

I went on the recommendation of my primary care who had gone to Dr Joya in Puerto Vallarta Mexico in March 06 because she had a patient who went and was very happy........We both had the same HMO insurance and it did not cover lap bands at the time...so we were both self pay....hence the decision to go to Mexico....I went June 06 and had a great experience it was first class treatment all the way......no complications no regrets......I feel that I had first rate care and I have had 7 surgeries in my life:clap2:

I was thinking that when someone gets a fill and then the restriction goes away little by little???Do you think that when we first get the fill it pumps up the balloon around the inside of the band and as we eat .... and if we over do it do you think it pushes saline back into the tubing?? Do you think if we ate less always at one time always our restriction would stay longer???I am finally getting my first fill tomorrow...

That same thing happened to me in reverse I had lost weight and went into Layne Bryant and the clerk told me the same thing......That was long ago.....but the weird thing was I was upset also......who knows why we are in a store and who we are buying for...fat or thin....

Koala I didn't go to Fisher ...... I went to Mexico to DR Joya..... the 3000 surcharge Dr Fisher charges may not be legal and I am looking into that.......I live in Las Vegas and I have have spoke to people where he was nasty in his tone about Mexican docs.....he would be the last person to give me a fill........but I must say he is a good doc .........

wow bummer I am so sorry,,,,,,,if he did it on Sept 6th 3 weeks later would be your vegas trip.......and you should be back on real food by then I am sure you will feel good...... Even if it is still mushys trust me I live here in Vegas they have all kinds of food......I think the 6th will still be ok........

If it is Dr. Joya he has a specific plan.....Gerald his man who handles this stuff would have given you the outline way before a week to go............If it is someone other than DR Joya they would give you their instructions....each Dr. has different pre op instructions....Some .... not all .......would tell you to go on a 2 week liquid diet...you need to ask your specific dr
