  1. Hey ya kitty...by loosing the weight first you will have plenty more energy to handle a bouncing bub! I already have two wee ones but would love more eventually the lapband will not hinder my chances nor be a problem to have in while pregnant so my advise would be sort yourself out first and bubs will follow...probably sooner than later as it has been proven that women at a healthy weight tend to full pregnant easier than those who are not. I look forward to hearing what you decide...best wishes! becky

  4. Hi guys...I know this is probably been asked heaps before... but I have been suffering from intense shoulder blade pain for the last week and I have heard that some back pain could be a signal of slippage...I have been a bit lax over the last few weeks with my eating...but I have had an successful banding experience over the last year... Could my back pain be an early sign of slippage? I have also been feeling alot more 'restricted' than usual and had laboured breathing...you know the way you do when you are full. Has anyone who had slippage on this site...experienced back (shoulder blade) pain. thanks guys...I look forward to your responces. becky

Hi shellie welcome to LBT! in actual fact I think it is easier to loose more weight once you are on solids...you get the consistency effect and the restriction is a lot more pronounced. sure, it may take a few fills before you reach your sweet spot but I wouldn't be worried about putting on more weight...sounds like you are doing just fine! becky

  19. I know that confusing feeling of being hungry or full...the bottom part of my tummy (the big one is ALWAYS hungry) but the top part is always full! kind of strange aye? but I agree with losingjusme...sip, sip, sip even with clear liquids you wont beable to drink as much in one gulp as you used to...just take it easy. I am glad otherwise you are feeling ok. (i hope) keep us posted. :girl_hug: becky

  21. Hi ya joe welcome to LBT. Congrats on your surgery date! I have been banded for over twelve months now and have had a very slow progress so it really depends on the person (and your level of commitment) as to how much you can loose. The first 60 days i didn't loose any weight...I wasn't filled until after that but my dr wasn't worried about it he said that the first we while is the time for healing post surgery. You cant feel the port mostly...I mean you can feel it when you touch it with your hands but as to feeling it inside not so much...but sometimes when I lie on my side I think it might pinch a nerve or something cause I get slight pain occassionally and I just need to change my position. Recovery for me post surgery only took 3-4 days so its very quick. Yes when you get to your 'sweet spot' you do feel full but it can take months and multiple fills to get to that spot...time leading up to that you may only feel slight restriction but get hungry easily...it just depends on the person. In answer to your last question I was exercising within the first 24 hours...just small amounts of walking but it did help with the gas pains. Other than that, I love my lapband and for all the minor fustrations/inconveniences I wouldnt have it any other way. keep us posted! :girl_hug: becky
  22. Ninababy...we were all as nervous about the commitment as you are wondering if we are going to be able to do it, wondering if it will make us so miserable not being able to eat as much as we have been but the good news is you can still enjoy food...probably more so with the band...with not eating so much you get used to savouring the flavour! and when the lbs start melting off it is such a positive experience and soooooo... exciting...giving you enough motivation to keep on going and most importantly to keep with the program!!! It is overwhelming at times expecially before the surgery but for me it was the best thing I ever did...and I don't regret it. LBT is a great place for support and encouragement and we are here for each other so this is a grand place to start the journey ahead of you...keep us posted! :girl_hug: becky
  23. Welcome tracy and good luck on your dr's appointment...as to the 'foreign object thing' you get used to it and as long as you follow the rules you'll probably forget that it is even there... You have an exciting journey ahead of you and make sure you keep us posted too. Wont be long now before you are another one of Lap band Talks' success stories. :girl_hug: becky
  24. Congratulations Future Beauty (love the name by the way!) you will be fine and you have a very exciting road ahead of you...although hard at times it is well worth it...keep us posted it wont be long before you can take the 'Future' out of your user name! :girl_hug: becky
  25. Welcome to LBT Wph24 Congrats on your surgery date and the beginning of your 'fat free' life!!! You'll be fine...my advice to you is to take each day at a time. It is not an 'easy' journey but it is a worth while one and very exciting as you see the pounds melt away...This forum is a great place for support, encouragement and information so you have come to the right place for the beginning of your journey...keep us posted on your progress..and we look forward to hearing of your success story. :girl_hug: becky
