Banded 12/20/06

After a year of considering surgery (and adding another 15 lbs), I finally went for it, paying cash. Surgery was painless (being aneshetized) and I spent 1 1/2 hours in the Recovery Room were I experienced a great deal of drowsiness and a little nausea. Walking slowly seemed to relieve these for me. At home last night, I was very sore and since I don't like the drowsiness and drunken feeling caused by narcotic pain killers decided to half my dose of Lortab elixir (same as Vicodin). Today, it is difficult to get up but I am doing incentive spirometry every 15 minutes and taking a walk around the house every 30 minutes. So far so good. I'm looking forward to a slimmer life.

Welcome to lapband talk DFWRPh!

Congrats on your surgery...keep us posted on your progress. Surgery does have a way of knocking you about...but for me it only took 3-4 days before I fully recovered and was back into things in full swing. I look forward to hearing about yet another success story.

Hi and congratulation on your surgery. This site is great. You can always find someone who is going through the same things you are and that can be a great comfort in knowing that your not alone. Can't wait to see your progress. Good Luck and just take it slow. If you don't like taking pain pills just maybe see if motrin will work for the pain I know it did for me. I can't take perscription painkillers without getting sick and that was enough for me. Good Luck again!

Hi Laurigee! We have the same band birthday...got mine yesterday too! Hope all goes well, please keep us all posted and if you wanna talk...send me and email...best wishes...
