  3. LuluC Thanks for the comment/concern. Up until Sunday I was not having any trouble. Sunday A.M. Coffee and 1/2 granola bar lunch:Carrabaas, 1 cup sicilian chicken soup, 1 crab cake, 1/2 slice bread with olive oil and spices P.M. 1/2 baked potato with 6 very tender beef tips Monday, tried to eat a few bites of bread....nothing doing...p.b.'s, sliming the whole shebang. Have been taking guafinisien to cut down on mucus production due to sinus crud going on. Also, under some degree of stress due to rotator cuff surgery scheduled for Monday. Today, 4 oz. sf/ff yougurt - a.m. 1 thick slice ham with mustard - lunch 1 baby carrot with ranch - lunch 6 p.m. 4 spoons ful of Tomato soup...to much pressure - stopped later p.m. approx 9:00 1 cup chicken tortilla soup ( 2 tortilla chips) I did put a call into my Weight Managment Center nurse. 4. Hey, was just looking for opinions/thoughts. Three weeks after my fill . Does this sound like I'm near my sweet spot or maybe a little to tight? ( this was the first since July 07/.25 fill 3.5 ccs in 4 cc band) My intake yesterday was as follows: a.m. 3 oz. fatfree low sugar yogurt noon 1 slice lowfat cheese wrapped with slice of deli ham 1tsp brown mustard fot "dipping" p.m. 2 oz. LGS fish with a bite of hush puppy. Water: approx 40 oz. If I could have eaten more without pressure or pbing I would have. Used very warm water with lemon juice to kinda clear the way today, but so far, have only had about 10 oz. water and 6 oz protien shake (with mild pressure but no p.b.ing) I am taking a multivitamin, Viactive w/calcium. KB
  5. I am so sorry to hear of y'all who are having so much trouble/pain with fills. My Doctor has used flouro Every time. Still, I'm the biggest baby, sweaty palms, sweaty soles of feet. I count my self very fortunate after reading y'alls posts though. A little history in case any one's interested. Banded 12/06. Two fills, then one slight unfill, then one slight fill July 2007 to a total of 3.25 ccs in a 4 cc band. Waited way too long to get another fill. Gained from 183 (my scales) up to 195 Drs. scales and had another fill today (.25) hope I get back that sweet spot that was helping me loose avg. of 1.5 # a week! Will see soon. Best of luck to all you who've had those awful fill experiences. KB

  7. Can't agree more with the comment about walking after surgery. I was up walking in the recovery area. Round and round the nurses station. Was day surgery but I couldn't leave till I peed...lol... I was taking in so much fluids, including two and a half I.V. bags. Well all this walking and taking in of liquids, I finally went about 9:00 that night (surgery was at 11:00 am.) Needless to say, I was up several times that night going to the bathroom again. DO, and I can't strees this enough, do get someone to stay at home with you the first 24 hours. To help you get up and down, walk with you, hold the garbage can if you get sick...etc.....

    Long Time Bandsters Experiencing Problems?

Hi Starr, My thoughts and prayers will be with you. I request the same. Banded Dec 06. Went from 243 down to 187 within 8 months. Now, one year + I am back up to 197 as of today. I know I need to schedule a follow up with care providers, but just feel so bad about myself and my eating habits, that I haven't been able to make that phone call.

    December Bandsters in March!

Hi Ladies....haven't had much time to set down and actually post, but will try to keep in touch better. I lost my Daddy in February. He spent 3 weeks in ICU and we (my brother, sister and step-mom) had to make the most aweful decision of removing him from life support. Needless to say, it's been a tough couple of months. I have logged on a couple of times and checked every body's progress. You're all doing great. As for me and my band experience, it has taken a definite back seat to all else. I did have my 3 month follow up this week and the nurse said I was on track with my weight loss. NN32, your goals for March would be good for me too, so I'm gonna "borrow" them. Hope all is well with you all and will definetly be posting more now.

2 small glasses White Merlot 3 bites of salad with ranch dressing (chewed to a pulp) 8 bites of Manicotti (chewed to a pulp) 4 bites of marinara with about 6-8 spaghetti noodles (chewed....) 4 bites of risotto topped with 2 thin slices steamed squash (chewed....) lots of unsweetened tea w/splenda 1/2 of a 2" square double chocolate brownie and 1 cup of coffee.... All of this was eaten and (drank, drunk???) over a 2 hour period. The evening spent enjoying this at the local "Murder Mystery" dinner theatre with 5 dear friends celebrating one of their birthdays was wonderful. The food was so very satisfying. Maybe one of the most enjoyable meals I've ever had. The fact that I realized that I don't think I had never really "chewed" pasta before was amazing. Yet still, I beat myself up over the fact that, even though everything I ate could have been eaten by someone who had no teeth, I'm not (according to my nurse) supposed to eat solid food for another 5 days. I would love to see some of your thoughts on this.

Bev, you are doing sooo good in you exercise program! Have you had a fill yet?... I bet if you haven't, that when you do the weight is gonna just melt off! I get to go to the YMCA for my consultation today!...I hope they'll let me at least get on the treadmill. The weather here is finally turning cold and it's to messy to walk outside...

  15. Hi Kathy, The pain under your left breast area sounds exactly like what I experienced after my surgery. An ice pack and the pain RX helped. My nurse explained to me that that is the area where the surgeon has to do the "most work". Most people, including me, did not realize that the majority of the top part of the stomach is up under the ribs on the left side. When they go in and retract the liver, the stomach is actually pulled down and towards the right hip in order for the band to be placed correctly and then portions of the stomach tissue are stiched up around the band to help hold it in place. I hope this is not too graphic, but the explanation and understanding what went on inside of me helped me to deal with the pain.

Morinin' Ladies...I think we're all ladies here anyway. I know where you're at with the W.L. questions. Due to the strenuous manufacturing work that I do, I haven't gone back yet and won't be released by my surgeon to do so until the 1/20. I dread it, cause I feel like the few folks I told will be scrutinizing me and my every move (bite, drink whatever). It seems like most people (those who are not members of LBT) are so very uninformed and think this is a magic bullet. BTW, Bev, you and that there elliptical got it goin' on ...I'm only walking right now, but can't wait till next weekend when I can start at my local YMCA and try one of those things out.

    December Bandsters

Hey all y'all December folks... I see a lot of posts about the different protien shakes/drinks. As you may have seen on another thread where I posted when I first found LBT, I am absolutely sold on one particular brand and would definetly recommend anybody try it. It's the EAS AdvantEDGE carb control shake. You can get them at WalMart and most other grocers. Best of all they are less that $5.00 for 4 shakes. It has: 17 grams of protien 100 calories 2 grams carb (one of those is fiber) My favorite is the French vanilla...I add a 6 ounce container of WalMarts Light Peach nonfat yogurt and shake it till blended. This boosts the protien up to 23 grams, calories to 180 grams, and carbs to 15 grams. Plus, these shakes are loaded with Vitamins. I try to get at LEAST one of these a day. Sometimes 2 if I don't get much protien from other sources. Somebody let me know if you try it and like it. Oh, and they have a chocolate flavor also...haven't tried it yet I like the other so much... Good Day to everybody!

...I am one sick, sick, sick, did I say sick puppy. When I tell y'all what I did, you'll all agree. Well, I haven't been on here since Thursday night and if anybody remembers...I said...I was craving meat so bad I could eat a cow...lol Well, me and my saddle pals down here have a favorite snack that we carry in our saddle bags on trail rides. It's Vienna sausage and saltine crackers. Well, Me..(sick me) decided hum, Vienna's are meat...well sorta? I'll just get me my Thunder Stick (that's a kitchen device :biggrin1: ) and I'll just PUREE (sp) me some Vienna's! Well, I think that was probably the most disgusting thing I have ever seen or put in my mouth (well almost) ...but...a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do...right? A little bit of that concoction spread on 2 crackers, mushed and chewed in my (sick) mouth and washed down with lots of water between each bite, well, let's just say this, I'm really not craving meat any more. HOpe y'all get a kick out of this.

I'm so very optimistic about the new year. Although I do feel somewhat selfish. Everything lately has seemed to be me me me. That will change though as I'm able to do more. On being able to "do more". I'm dissappointed that I'm still having pain in the one area just below my left breast. If I move or stretch the wrong way, it seems like someone has stabbed me with a hot knife. If it were not for that area, I would be close to 100% I feel certain. Now, I've found a "hard" area under the largest incision. Could that be my port that high and centered? Do I just have too much time on my hands laying around trying to not overdo it? Or maybe just being paranoid? Tomorrow the weight loss center offices open back up and I'll be calling them first thing. I've got to get going so I can get back to work.
