Has anyone tried Slim in 6?
I was watching the infomercial today and was thinking about getting it. I like to change up my workouts since I don't have a gym membership. It guarantees 10 lbs and 10 inches lost in the 1st week.

70 lbs
As of this morning I have lost 70 lbs!!!! I was ecstatic. I have never lost this much weight in my life. This journey has not been easy. I have to work hard. I watch what I eat and I exercise. It's not fun when you are on vacation and can't really enjoy yourself at a restaurant because you know if you're not careful food can easily get stuck and bam you need to find a bathroom. On a recent trip to Disney World I couldn't enjoy myself at Chef Mickey's because I kept getting stuck. I spend the majority of my dinner running to the bathroom. It sucked. What was even more embarassing is we were eating lunch at our hotel and there wasn't a restroom around and I got stuck and had to throw up right there at the table. That was pretty embarassing. Thank god there weren't alot of people around and I got myself unstuck asap. Anyway, my 1 year goal is to be in onederland. I am 43 lbs away. I'm sure with hard work I will reach my goal.

Exercise Motivation Needed
Swimming is a great exercise and you burn calories like crazy. Also I know you said it hurts to walk but maybe start out doing 5 minutes at a time and then increase it every 2 weeks by 5 minutes and see how that works out for you. Good luck! I know getting started isn't easy but once you do start you feel so much better.

What am I doing wrong?
Get used to the belching it's going to be a long term thang. lol. I know it's embarassing. Sometimes all I have to do is lean forward and it just comes out.

For some reason rotisserie chicken does not like me. I get stuck everytime I eat it! I probably don't chew it as good.

September Accountabilty Thread
My goal for September is to lose 5 pounds. I will do this by walking at least 3 days a week on my lunch hour, working out at least 2-3 nights a week doing some sort of cardio video and also by watching what I eat. Lately it seems as though my weight loss has drastically slowed down. I'm lucky if I lose 2 lbs every 2 weeks!!! I think I really need to buckle down, watch everything I eat and exercise more.

Buying clothes is a full time job!!
Salvation Army, clearance racks at Fashion Bug, resale shops, ebay. Good luck!!! I know i'm buying clothes every few months too. Half the time I walk around with pants 2 sizes too big. I buy 2 pair of black pants every couple of months and wear them with different shirts. I end up doing laundry 2-3 times a week!!! It's worth it.

Kinda Gross but I'm curious
Best to get some benefiber or some kind of fiber to take. You don't wanna get yourself blocked up and end up in the hospital.

what have i done
The pain will get better. Make sure you walk, walk, walk. That's a good way to get rid of the gas pain. As for hunger make sure you constantly have a drink in your hand. I assume you are on a liquid diet right now. Make sure you have protein shakes, juice, tea, ice water available at all times. I would have 3 drinks going at once during that phase!

TV shows about obesity; Ruby, Big Medicine, Brookhaven - etc.
I find Ruby to be very inspiring. That's really what got me started on my journey to lose weight. I like watching Brook Haven. It's sad to see people in that bad of shape and they don't endorse any kind of weight loss surgeries. Those people need help and they need to get healthy. I also have watched the specials on Emmanual (the world's largest man in Mexico). I watch those shows and stay inspired to keep on track and lose weight.

Confused
Well dang it then instead of quoting me and being a jerk just say I would listen to your healthcare professional. You do not need to single me out and be a jerk about it. I don't do that to you and I would appreciate it if you didn't do it to me. You make it so that people out here are discouraged to go to these boards for help.

Headhunter: "Don't let the dietician or anyone else tell you what they think you should do" HUH?? WTF? Don't let the HEALTH PROFESSIONALS who deal with this on a daily basis tell you what to do? Sorry...that is some of the most absurd nonsense I have ever seen posted here. :tongue2: HERE WE GO AGAIN. HEADHUNTER - STATE YOUR OWN OPINION, GIVE YOUR OWN ADVICE. QUIT QUOTING WHAT OTHER PEOPLE SAY AND UNDERMINING THEIR ADVICE, CHOICES, OPINIONS, ETC. YOU MAY NOT REALIZE IT BUT YOU ARE BEING EXTREMELY RUDE AND I DON'T APPRECIATE IT. Neesh: It is your body you do what YOU want and YOU make YOUR own choice that YOU FEEL is right for YOU. if YOU DO NOT want a bypass DO NOT get a bypass. Hope it works out for you!!!! :tt2:

Confused
Go with what you want to do. Don't let the dietician or anyone else tell you what they think you should do. Obviously you feel lap band is right for you. The lap band is a wonderful tool that restricts the amount of food you can eat. It helps you stay full in between meals. Can you eat your way around the band? yes you sure can. There's a list of foods that will "slide" right through your band. So you are definitely going to have to learn to make better choices. As with any weight loss you are going to have to start making better choices and quit eating the crap foods that got us all here in the 1st place. I totally share the same feelings you do regarding bypass. I'm 6 months in and I absolutely love my band but I will be honest with you I watch what I eat (with an occasional indulgence) and I exercise. Good luck making your decision!!!

Has Any one else experienced this?
No you're not crazy. I went shopping back in May for a wedding I had to go to and I wanted to grab a dress and grabbed a size 24 because I figured that's what I would fit into. Much to my shock a 24 was way to big, I grabbed a 22, that was way too big. I grabbed a 20 and even that was too big. So they convinced me to try on an 18 and OMG it fit perfectly. WAnna talk about shock. I couldn't believe it. I still can't believe it. My pants size is a 22 right now and I still have it in my head that I need a 26 or a 24. So while I understand your apprehension in buying new clothes, you've got to get out there and buy new clothes that fit you better. You can't go around with your clothes all baggy and falling off you. I really think you'll be surprised when you go shopping and see the new sizes you can fit into!!!!!!
