  1. Sorry if this sounds rude but you are really acting foolish. That is absurd. You aren't big enough for the surgery. Why would you want to go through it at your size? Instead of pushing cookie dough down your throat to gain weight, try watching carbs and watch the weight fly off. If I was your weight no way would I consider WLS. I am your same height!
  2. I am so excited and so nervous! Have to be in Dallas by 5:30 am. I live over an hour away so that means I will be getting up very early. Please pray all goes well! I've lost 13# this last week doing the lowcarb and liquid thing. Looking forward to losing a lot more!!!
  3. I am having my lapband in a week!!! Next Wed, the 9th of Dec! Can't wait!
  4. I'd be worried over the salt intake though - you have to be getting a ton of salt. Those broths are full of it.
  5. Eeekkk my surgery is a week away. The 9th!! I am nervous as all get out. I am excited too, though. Praying we all do great!
  6. I am having my band done next week. I am supposed to start my liquid diet today. So far nothing but liquids but I would rather do lowcarb since I am so familiar with it. I've had great results with it losing lots of weight in the past. Does it shrink as good or better than the liquid diet though?
  7. You can do it!!! You are going to have to do it after the banding too so just don't look at it like it's 14 days and then it's over. You have to look at this like a lifestyle change... not a quick fix.
  8. Praying you stay well and are able to get banded. Praying for your entire family.
  9. :scared2: Mine is set for 12-9-09!!!!
  10. Mine is set for 12-9-09!!!!
  11. Congratulations! I know it doesn't feel like the best timing right now, but there is a reason for everything. Enjoy your pregnancy, the surgery can be done later. :scared2:
  12. Good luck!!! I have to start mine on Dec. 2!!!
  13. I am getting banded soon!! I am excited and scared at the same time!! Any words of wisdom for me? Any ideas for things to eat when on my liquid pre-op diet?? I start that on Dec. 2nd... :scared2:
  14. Yes I know it was because they found something because he explained before the procedure that they wouldn't do a biopsy unless he saw something that he wanted to check into further. Praying it's just something minor and no biggy. Surely that's the case. I never have tummy issues - well didn't until this. LOL!
  15. This is a great thread! Thanks!
  16. They didn't tell me what. Just said that there was something that they sent off to be biopsied. I take Vicoprofen for my neck and back pain and maybe (after doing some research online about this whole thing) that's what caused there to be something going on? He told me I can't take it anymore and I have to take Lortab which is the same thing but with Tylenol instead of Ibuprofen. I never have tummy issues... or didn't before this biopsy. Now my stomach is BURNING bigtime. I am on Protonix now because of it. Should I be worried? Or is this pretty common stuff???
  17. Glad to read this thread since Dr. Barker is who I am using.
  18. I have decided that lapband is what I want. Bypass is just too extreme and scary for me, btw.
  19. Dr. Jayaseelan did my best friend's lapband. She has only wonderful things to say about him. He wasn't on my insurance plan though. Dr. Barker was extremely nice and answered every question I had. I am sure I'll be learning a lot more in the weeks to come. My cardio thing is on the 10th and then my EGS?? on the 22nd. I need to set up an appt. with the psych person.
  20. He was super nice and the staff was so friendly and answered all my questions no matter how many I threw at them. He does, however, feel that the bypass would be a better option for me. My insurance will only pay for one type of bariatric surgery in a lifetime for me and he said the lapband has a 33% success rate, etc. He went through all the pros and cons and all that. I am unsure what to do. My husband doesn't want me doing the bypass, thinks it's too dangerous. The dr. did address the rate of deaths with bypass but said that's normally with people who already have issues - like heart troubles, diabetes, and the like - of which I have none. Sigh... so unsure!!
  21. I am sitting in his waiting room right now. About to meet him. Will let yall know how it goes.
  22. This is the dr. my insurance recommended and I am considering using so I am curious if anyone here has used him as well.
