Pre Op Liquid Diet

I am a week and a half into the pre-op liquid diet and want to make sure I am not drinking too much broth. I am having about 24 oz. a day of either chicken, beef or vegetable broth. Three Slim Fasts a day, maybe one or two sugar free popsicles and a cup of sugar free jello at most.

Since most broths have about 10 calories per 8 ounces, it doesn't sound like 24 is too much. Did you have a limit? If not, I think you are more than fine!

Everyone's doc is different, but preop there wasnt a limit on how much Clear liquids like broth I could drink or have. I think you should be fine!

I'd be worried over the salt intake though - you have to be getting a ton of salt. Those broths are full of it.
