  1. Don't go trying to gain it back I'm sure you will get approved but if still alittle nervous just put a couple of rolls of quarters in your pockets/bra before you have to weigh! Good Luck!
  2. Hey Gerri~ I was also banded May 4th and doing really good, my biggest problem is getting in enough Protein because I don't like the shakes. I won't get to start the pureed stage for another 10 days. Godd Luck!
  3. Hey all~ I'm justing wondering where Blountsville is and how far it is from Muscle Shoals/ Florence area? I was banded May 4th and would love to come meet other Alabama bandsters.
  4. Congrats to all May 6th Banditos~ I'm a 3 days out and feel really good. Having problems with meeting my Protein quota. I'm not sure where my port incision is but I am assuming it is my biggest incision if so it is about 1 inch from waistline on left side but I can't feel it at all. Good luck to all.
  5. My insurance requires the last 3 years your BMI has to have been 35 or higher. I guess if your self pay you could fill your pockets with rolled coins or something. The things we will do to be skinny!!!LOL
  6. The doctor will have to actually measure and weigh you and provide documentation to insurance company. He should write down exact measurement if not just tell him that 1/2 inch really matters and he will comply.
  7. Yea I order the trials and was excited about the unflavored I think I make some Jello with it and maybe add it to something I like to drink. I know your excited right now about your big day tomorrow. Good Luck
  8. I have some but haven't tried it yet I ordered the trial packs. I've drank some atkins advantage and had some cheddar/broccoli soup(strained) and I've been sipping non protein fluids. I really don't want anything but I try to get alittle down. Maybe tomorrow I'll be able to hold more. Wow I never thought I'd say that!LOL
  9. Thanks for the congrats! Your right protein is the key and it also helps to keep your hair from falling out.
  10. Hey Banditos~ I had my surgery yesterday and also a hernia repair, I'm having a little discomfort today but that is to be expected. I'm having to drink something every hour which is hard to do and suppose to get in around 60 grams of protein but I have a hard time with protein drinks, I'm going to have some strained soup with added protein later. I haven't been hungry and so far head hunger hasn't set in.
  11. Doug~Glad to hear everything went well for you. I'm having my surgery tomorrow and I'm alittle unsettled but I know it will be fine. Keep us posted!
  12. You may not be eating enough. My post op diet will be 1200 calories (dr orders).
  13. Thanks Cali~ We would be exactly the same weight if I hadn't gained during my 6mos diet, I don't know what I was thinking but now I'm mad at myself. BTW I'm 5'5" and I turned 48 yesterday. Hoping I'll be skinny by the time I turn 50!LOL I sure hope we have great success, I'll be thinking of you on Wednesday!!!!!
  14. Hey xavier I'm getting banded on May 4th I see your right behind me. Good Luck!!!
  15. I had documentation from my PCP but I heard you can use weight watchers documentations or other weight loss programs that kept up with your weight but I also heard some ppl showing pictures from previous years. Good Luck!
  16. I'm not banded yet but should you be bending over this soon? My doctor said no bending or lifting over 15# for 4 weeks. Just wondering!

My doctor didn't require me to do a pre-op diet he just said liquids the day before. I'm 10 days away and nervous as a cat in a room full of rockin chairs but I'm excited at the same time. My demons keep telling me this isn't gonna work and that something will happen and I'll have to have it removed. I've asked on post op forums and I think this is normal the closer you get to your date but it can sure mess with your head. Good luck everyone I know we can do this!!!:w00t:
  18. My insurance has the same requirements but they also required me to show documentation for the last 3 years from a doctor that my BMI was 35 or over with one comorbid disease or a BMI of 40 or over with or without a comorbid disease. My friend is in the same boat as you except she has diabetes and several other things but she does not meet the last 3 years criteria. We both have BCBS of Al.
  19. My surgeon requires a full liquid diet for 14 days after surgery which includes: Blue Bunny Lite 85 smoothies Dannon Lite Smoothies Strained, Thinned Cream Soups,Tomato Soup and Broths 100% Fruit Juices No Sugar Added Carnation Instant Breakfast Jello Popsicles Hot chocolate Protein Water Tea coffee Atkins Advantage Slim Fast(low carb) Its a good idea to always check with your surgeon, he may require a clear liquid diet, some do.
  20. Hey Vikki~ I gained during my 6 month supervised diet and got approved the first time. I have BCBS of Alabama. I was worried too, but as usual I worried for nothing. Good luck! I can't wait until my surgery date.
  21. Hey Teri~ I live in Muscle Shoals and I'm scheduled for lapband surgery May 4th by Dr. Suggs in Decatur. I'm so excited and wish it was over. Glad to see someone so close on the forum.
  22. Hey Amanda~ I really don't know much at this point, I'm having them implanted March 20th. My doctor just recommended them because my hormones are so low and I refuse synthetic ones. My doctor is the only one in my area implanting them and he went to Arizona to learn the procedure. I read some info and I'll share the websites with you. They are suppose to make you have more energy, lose weight easier, build muscle tone, etc. I'm willing to try it , dr. said if I don't like them I don't have to have them implanted anymore. Depending on the individual they need to be implanted every 4-6 months the first year, maybe less after that. The procedure suppose to be painless(?). They make a tiny slit in the fatty part of your hip and insert the pellets and use the little strips to close the slit. I'll know more friday and update. Thanks for responding. www.sottopellelife.com www.sottopelletherapy.com
  23. Thanks for the reply, I may try posting it in he powder room.
  24. Hey everyone just thought I'd start in this forum since some of you are probably taking hormones. I just wanted to know if anyone is on the Sottopelle hormone therapy(hormone pellets). I am suppose to have them implanted on the 20th and I was wondering if anyone has any information to share. Not yet banded (May '09)
