  1. Josephine, thanks for the inspiration. I feel really good and I can't wait to lose the rest. My goal is 200 lbs. I weighed about 175-180 in high school and my doctor thinks I can get there, but truth be told I am looking to only get to a weight I can maintain and not kill myself to get skinnier than that. I feel good now, but I can't wait to get to a 16 again.
  2. I cleaned out my drawers today. I am giving my 22s to a friend of mine. I also got rid of 2 46c bras. This is so much fun!
  3. Welcome to lapband talk forum. I love being banded. You will do fine. You will fine with good restriction you can still enjoy all the foods just less of them. Good luck.
  4. June sound totally realistic. It took me about 6 weeks to get through all of the pre surgeon appointments, bloodwork and insurance approval. Good luck.
  5. Hi John, congrats on making this life changing decision. You will love being banded.
  6. Cheryl, I am so happy for you. You should be out of that wheelchair in no time! I think you will be astonished how great the weight loss is with the band. Just stay with the plan. You will do great.
  7. Hope the unfill works for you. You have sure been through it. It might be a lessoned learn that your sweet spot was the old fill level. Good luck to you.
  8. I'm down 2 lbs for the tax day challenge. I'm down to 236 from 238.
  9. Sherilynn, I am sorry this happened to you. I hope you can get your fill soon.
  10. I went clothes shopping today and I started in a size 24 top and bottom. I can now wear an 18/20 bottom and a 14/16 top. I ended up buying 18/20 tops to just have a little extra room but I can't believe I can now fit into a large. I was able to buy a top from the Junior Section! Yes, it is true. Large was in Juniors. I'm down 46 lbs. My goal right now is to lose an addtitional 4 lbs for a total of 50 lbs.
  11. Brandyk, that guy was such an ass. I'm sorry that happened to you. What a jerk.
  12. I'm finally on the losing streak again, down a lb. I have lost 46 lbs to date since last June. My goal is 4 more lbs to hit the 50 lbs mark. That will put me 32 lbs to goal.
  13. My trainer wanted me to eat a ton of food so if food comes up you may have to explain your calorie restriction and why. That would be the only reason why I would tell them. Good luck and congrats.
  14. Sorry about the loss of your band. I hope you can either have it replaced or you have a successful bypass surgery. Good luck.
  15. I am 9 1/2 months post op and I am still learning how to eat. I finally got down cutting my meat into very small pieces last night. I was able to actually eat 1.5 slices of tri tip which is a lot of food for me. I need to make sure I get my protein in for sure.
  16. BigThunder, eat something for me! I miss eating quantities of food. I would LOVE to eat a 6 or 12" subway sandwich. That will all change when you are banded. Good luck.
  17. I cut out all hard liquor this week. I am only have one drink now which is about 120 calories. I have to lotted into my daily food intake and I'm now losing .5 a day.
  18. I think the biggest myth I have ever heard is how you have to be really think to be thin. In other words, I am looking at 200 lbs which is 25 lbs heavier than my doctor says I should weigh. I may be a size 16 when I get there. Weight has nothing to do with size. Many body builders weigh a lot and they are lean and muscular.
  19. Hi bubblebut, its me again. I consume 800-1000 calories for optimal weight loss. I am not hungry at all.
  20. My goal is 4 more lbs to hit the 50 lbs mark. I can do this within the next few weeks. Yippeee!
  21. Yes, it does take time. It may take you several fills. It took me 5 fills to feel optimal level. You will be fine. Just be patient.
  22. I'm glad they found this pre surgery. Good for you. Keep us posted on your progress.
  23. Good for you. You will love being banded.
  24. The only thing I can say is maybe you could find a local Surgeon or support group where they can hear real live stories of the successes and the trials of the lapband. I think they would change their minds. Good luck.
  25. Judi, welcome to lapband talk forum. You are in the right place. Congrats on making the decision to be banded.
