  1. I start my day with a protein shake, that really helps get the protein in, 25 grams. Good luck.
  2. I lost a little bit but I had to go back in within 2-4 weeks for another fill. It took me 5 fills to hit my sweet spot. Good luck.
  3. You are probably irritated right now. If you feel like you can't eat move to liquids for a day then mushy stage for a day. You should be fine. I would be shocked if you slipped your band. You probably just go irritation with pouch packing. Good luck.
  4. Sherri, let us know how you do with your surgery. YOu will love being banded.
  5. Hi Neveragain, I was banded last June and I remember being totally devastated and worried that I was giving up food. YOu mentioned scared about being hungry. You may find before your fill you do have hunger, however it is very common to not be hungry at all. Because they place the band high on the stomach there are sensors at the top of the stomach that send the full message. Because you will have a smaller stomach you will find that meals last you longer. I can eat breakfast sometimes as late as noon because I am not hungry. Best of luck to you. I love being banded.
  6. Congrats on being banded. YOu will love it.
  7. You are suppose to eat 60 grams of protein a day. I would go for a mild unfill. HOpefully that will help.
  8. Thanks for the inspiration. Sometimes I forget this is going to take me 1.5-2 years. I want it now!
  9. I have a 10cc band which holds 4.2cc. I now have 3ccs in it. It took me 5 fills to get to that level of sweet spot. I am never hungry and I'm losing weight now. Good luck.
  10. BigThunder, if yoiu feel you are in the 300 range you probably are. You probably wouldn't be mobile if you were in the 500 range so relax. Just do the 3 month preop and get the surgery. You will have a whole new life. Good luck.
  11. Mollysmom, I love the fact that the "jock" is now 120 lbs overweight. Serves the bastard right!
  12. Have you ever had a friend leave your life by their choice? I am a friend Charlotte who out of the blue doesn't want to speak to me again. We have been friends for 25 years. She keeps telling me that I haven't been there for her. I have no idea what is going on. I went back to email threads from months ago and there was no indication she was unhappy in the relationship. It is not my fault if I don't know what is going on in her head. I have tried everything. I have reached to her without avail. I am devastated to say the least. I just don't know what to do. I know my life has been hectic the last few years with 3 moves and some other personal stuff but she didn't seem to mind us talking about it when we would speak. I just have no idea where I went wrong. :cry
  13. I love Dr. McKeen. He is wonderful. I had my surgery in San Jose, CA. I would highly recommend him. He has great bedside manner and he is available 24x7 on his cell phone. No may surgeons give you that.
  14. I have the same issue. That is what plastic surgery is for :-}
  15. Lauren, take it in steps. YOu can do it.
  16. You are doing great, Keep up the good work.
  17. I weigh myself every morning and go into the surgeon to be weighed every 2 months. That way I make sure my scale is accurate.
  18. Congrats. You will loe being banded.
  19. I thlnk it will be important to keep in touch with your surgeon to make sure you have the correct fill level prior to travel. The band will do its job with the restriction. Just make sure you eat your protein first, vegies 2nd and so on.
  20. Marsene, you will do great. Congrats on being banded.
  21. Good job. Funny how we change in all the areas of our body!
  22. Doubletrouble, thank you for your post. I know I am not in this alone. I feel so out of shape. I just can't imagine how much better I will feel with continued weight loss. My goal is another 40 lbs. I really want to lose that in the next 6-8 months.
  23. Try not to worry about him so much and just take care of yourself. The next 6 weeks are very important.
  24. Aloe Vera juice can really help with sensitivity. You can buy it from WalMart in the Pharmacy area.
  25. MarySue33, thank you for the inspiration. I am embarrassed that I can only do 10 minutes. It just about killed me! I remember when I started exercising 2 years ago (I lost 26 lbs post op) I couldn't even walk at 2.5. It was really bad. I am in a size 20 now from a size 24 but I KNOW that I will have to exercise to get rid of the extra weight. Thank you again for the motivation.
