  1. I passed all the tests and finally have a date. Band removal and rny 12/30/09. I'm scared as heck but excited at the same time. I hope this is a successful journey. Best of luck to all please post how things are going for you as well.
  2. Hi Lilnena, I think you and I had the same surgeon, Dr.Singh in Albany. I had my banding on 3/14/07. I have had the very simular experiences with my band. I didn't have hardly any weightloss and my port is flipped also.I have switched Dr's due to the distance I was traveling. I think we may have messaged before, if not sorry to inconvience you. I think it's strange that we would have the same Dr and simular results. Best of luck to you. I am in the process of switching to ryn too. Hoping for insurance approval at next appointment 10/9.
  3. Hi brandy, I am in the process right now of changing to bypass, some insurance companies make you wait a certain period of time before the band is concidered a failure and than they'll usually approve the switch. Mine was 16 months. I hope to have a surgery date Sept 5th for revision. Best of luck to you.
  4. Hi Wasa. I am currently in the process of revision to roux en y bypass. My band is concidered a failure due to NO! weightloss at all. I would love to hear from others who may have done this, and if they have been successful. Sound like things are much better for you, best of luck.
  5. :thinkHas anyone switched to RYN due to lack of success of the band? I was banded March 14 2007 and have only lost 4 lbs. I loss 20 on my own before surgery and have kept that off too but the band doesn't seem to work for me and I am filled to 3.5 in a 4cm band. I have very little restriction or feeling of fullness and can eat anything. Has anyone swiched and had greater success? I feel like such a failure it is effecting my already low self-esteem. All of my co-workers know I've had this done and in 9 months have only lost 4 pounds. Looking for some others in the same boat, Thanks.
  6. Hi All, I am completly discouraged with my banding. I have 2cc in a 4cc band and I have not lost anything since post-op. I was banded March 14th 2007. I have kept aprox 28lbs off but had loss 21lbs pre-op so I've only loss about 7lbs with the band. I can eat anything/amount without any problem. Everything I read pre-op said I would feel full and not be able to over eat without being sick, what to He#%, I don't have this feeling. I just needed to vent, I woud appreciate any constructive advice or any simular situations that have turned out to be possitive. I am desperate to make this work. thanks in advance.
  7. Thanks for the responces. I feel the same. I have a 4cc band and 1.04cc in it. The nurse was very short with me and rny was her responce to my saying it doesn't feel like there is anything even there, and I haven't loss anything since post-op. I'll be going for the endo the 13th, and I see the Dr again on the 24th hopefully than I'll get a good fill.
  8. I am so darn frusrated with this band. I am almost four months out and I am not losing a thing. I have had one fill of 1 1/4cc and I don't even feel like there is a band there most of the time. I don't have to chew well, nothing disagrees with me. I am hungery and able to eat whatever I want. I am to go for an endoscopy the 13th the nurse thinks my band could have slipped. The problem is I have to travel 3 hours each way to the Dr. and have very high co-pays each time. The nurse mentioned switching to rny but my family will not support me emotionally if I make that dicision. Is there any hope that this is going to get better and have some possitve results. I did lose during the pre-op diet and the liquid stage but nothing since I have gained 4lbs. Need to know the truth if that is all there is going to be with this thing.
  9. Boy am I glad I'm not alone in this. I too have had little to no wt loss since my first fill, and I feel no restriction. I go back to the Dr's this Tues hopfully I will get another fill and get some results. Good luck to all.
  10. Hi Guys, I was in the same boat, call your Dr or Nutrtionist and ask what you can do. They may recommend a protein shake to help with the hunger. I just had my first fill 5/15 and what a difference it has made hang in there it gets better.
  11. Well I went and had my port checked. No lifting of any kind for me for a while. The muscle that my port is attached to is in a spasm. I did to much to soon going back to work, so now I am not able to exercise except walk for the next few weeks. Just wanted to up date my situation.
  12. I bought tv dinners for the first two weeks post-op for the husband and kids. They picked their own varieties and I didn't have to worry about meals. Hungeryman makes some good size meals. Best of Luck.
  13. Well I am seeing my surgeon tomorow to find out what is going on with my port. I have had port pain since I was banded on 3/14/07. :phanvan This past week it has gotten pretty bad so I'm going to see whats going on in there tomorow(three hour drive there). I spoke with the on call Dr over the weekend, he said it sounds like I have detached my port from the abdomen or part of it. I hope they can fix it without an overnight stay the copays are killing me($500) for an overnight stay. Anyone else out there have a port problem fixed by Dr Singh @ Albany Medical Center?? just courious how he did it.
  14. Hi All, I am so frustrated at this point. I was banded on 3/14/07 and have only lost 15Lbs during the clear liquid stage and nothing more. I tryed doing a shake in the morning and small meals twice a day, no success I was starving in between within a few hours. I can now eat almost as much as before the band. I have NOT had a fill yet but plenty of port problems with the muscle it's attached to. Does this really change your hunger level once you get a fill or two? because I'm feeling pretty low that I am going to fail at this like all the other diets I've tryed. Sorry to be down, I really want to be a success but I'm still hungery and I thought it would be much less than it is. Someone please let me know if this gets better.:cry
  15. I'm in the same boat with you Keyla, I am five weeks post op and have only lost fifteen from the liquid stage nothing since than. I don't see the Dr til the middle of May and then I don't know if I'll get a fill or not. I feel a little frustrated too that I'm eating less and I'm back to work in a fast paced job and no weight loss.
