  1. Good for you. Keep up the good work.
  2. It is your body. I would be direct and very candid with the surgeon. You don't want to fail. Get 1.8cc back in there. Its up to you.
  3. Lauren, great news. You totally deserve this. Way to go!
  4. You'll be okay. Technically your band isn't working yet so hang in there.
  5. I do the same thing. I also look at fat people a lot differently and feel its too bad they too can't be banded like me.
  6. Good for you. I can't wait to have the same NSV.
  7. MellyBelle, I am not you so I can only speak for myself. If I were you I would buckle up and go see the surgeon as soon as you can. You don't want to gain all your weight back. You should have optimal restriction. If you don't then you need a fill. It took me 5 fills in my 10cc band (I'm at 3ccs) to feel optimal restriction. I now eat like a bandster. The weight loss is still slow but it is moving in a positive direction. Good luck.
  8. Hi Paladin, I'll pray for him as well. As an update, my brother entered rehab this a.m. He will go through detox for 3-4 days then he will remain there from 30-45 days. He is near deaths door so I really hope and pray it works out for him. Thanks for your compliment on being banded. I am really happy with my results and I'm looking forward to hitting my year in June. I'm hoping to be down another 15-20 lbs from where I currently am. Thanks again.
  9. It may be from milk based products. Try moving to soy.
  10. I am getting treated for biopolar and depression. I had no issue getting approved by insurance. It only came up in my psych eval and he had no issue with it. Good luck.
  11. Sorry to hear this. You were very generous in your theory.
  12. Stacey, congrats to you. Keep up the good work.
  13. I eat the 100 calorie bags. My doctor said they go down like sand. I have no problem consuming the entire bag at once! Enjoy.
  14. You'll be okay. Just drink as much as you can. Your body is working off of his stored fat right now. As the swelling goes down you will be able to consume more and more. Good luck to you.
  15. You can use protein powder. I would get the chocolate. That is a clear liquid. Good luck to you.
  16. Lauren, hang in there and go to the classes as soon as you can. Before you know it it will be time for your surgery.
  17. Is this a nutritionist that was referred by the surgeon? It sounds like you need to find someone who is lapband friendly.
  18. You are dead on. When I initially met with my surgeon he pointed out that obesity was a disease. Just like being diabetic. You can help it through diet and exercise naturally but for those of us who have failed lapband is a great tool to help us. I am glad you made your point known. You sound like you are doing very well.
  19. Yes, you can use creamer in your coffee. My nutritionist said that milk is actually better.
  20. You didn't do bad at all. Don't be so hard on yourself. French fries if chewed well is definitely a mushy. Just go back on the plan and you will do fine. It sounds like your calorie intake is just about right.
  21. I think you will find that your food cravings will change after surgery. I can eat bread, just not much of it. I can also eat pasta but not much of it either. You will do fine. The band is a great tool. Good luck in your decision.
  22. You are doing fantastic. That is great!
  23. Hi Cathy, This progress isn't as easy as people think. I am down only 40 lbs since June. Its discouraging to say the least. They say that 1-2 lbs a week is normal so my doctor is pleased. I just hate the feeling of being a failure.
