  1. I was a snacker before. Now I am not hungry so I don't find myself wanting to eat. You will probably change after surgery, especially your hunger patterns. I would move to hot tea or water if you feel like you just want to eat. Good luck.
  2. If you are really hungry I would move to creamy soups. They are really filling and liquid. Good luck.
  3. I ate a lot of creamy soups. I just didn't eat the chicken if there was chicken in them. Cream of broccoli, celery went down fine. Anything that can fit through a straw worked for me. My surgeon said that was okay. Good luck.
  4. No big deal. Its easy to give up. Good luck.
  5. I wish you the best of luck. Its normal to be nervous. You will be fine.
  6. I know it is a lot to go through to get the procedure but it is well worth it. Good luck.
  7. Good for you. Just take it easy and I'll feel great.
  8. Good job. You are taking it slow and moving. That is great. Congrats on your 10 lbs so far!
  9. I've been banded 9 months and haven't had any problems. My surgery was easy and pain free. Everyone is different. If you really want this bad enough just know that things can happen but most likely will not. Good luck.
  10. Lauren, keep up the good work. YOu'll get approved soon and everything will be smooth sailing from here on out.
  11. Glad you are feeling better. I've been following your story. I guess some of us take a little bit longer to feel good. Hope you continue on the road to recovery. Good job sticking with it.
  12. That is fantastic. You are an inspiration. I'm out 9 months and I feel good too. congrats.
  13. Its normal to be nervous. I cried a couple day leading up to my surgery. That is completely normal. You will be fine.
  14. Yes, the scale goes up and down like a yo yo. I can definitely feel the difference in my sizes though.
  15. I use grazing to my advantage. I eat small portions throughout the day and it works for me. If you use it that way and try to omit the bad foods you should be okay.
  16. I would have a protein shake in the a.m. if I were you. That will help you get through those weaker moments when you don't have restriction. Good luck.
  17. I agree with her. I have seen a lot of postings about bypass patients gaining weight back and stretching their new stomachs. I like the fact that I control the fill levels so that will not happen. I love my band and I wouldn't have it any other way. With that being said, you have to realize that the weight loss is slower with the band. I have the feeling that it can be kept off for a longer period of time though.
  18. Burping is normal. Its your body telling you that you are full now. Its one of the signs. Good luck.
  19. Welcome. Congrats on making this life changing decision. I hope the next 6 months go fast for you. You'll love being banded.
  20. I'm considered a slow loser at 45 lbs in 8 months but I would do it again in a heartbeat. I can honestly say this has been the easiest 45 lbs I have ever lost, without hunger. He will be fine. He will do well if he follows the surgeon's dietary restriction and gets restriction by fills. Good luck.
  21. I'm down 45 lbs and the weight I typically gain comes right off after I focus.
  22. I hope you don't go. Opinions are very important.
  23. Missy, good luck with your preop appointment . I hope everything goes smoothly for you.
  24. I hear really good things about Dr. Ortiz and Dr. Kuri. More on Ortiz though. Good luck with your journey.
  25. Katie, this decision is yours and yours alone. There are a lot of bandsters that don't have success but its up to them to get the medical help to make it work. Just work with your doctor, follow the diet and make sure you gets your fills to have optimal restriction. You will succeed if you do these things. Good luck.
