Utah Newbie
Wen, congrats on being banded. Dr. McKeen is also a great surgeon in your area. He did mine in San Jose, CA but he splits his time from Utah and CA. Good luck to you.

2 weeks after surgery and hungry
They probably will not hurt you. Just chew them well.

Band has slipped
I think a slip can sometimes heal on its own with an unfill. Is that what you are currently doing? Other than that, I would vote to try and keep your band or get a new one. It is going to be very difficult to lose the rest of your weight not being banded. Good luck.

Pre-Op Questions at my Pre-Op Meeting Today!
Rocko, sounds like you are in great hands. Congrats on getting banded soon.

Stomach/Churning question....confused
You aren't suppose to eat meat bigger than the size of a pencil eraser. As far as churning in the pouch, I don't think that happens. The absorption process begins when the food hits the stomach. The pouch just stays full and the food pushes through in time. Glad you are doing well.

I did it!!!
Welcome to bandland. You will do great. You will love being banded.

Frustrated
My surgeon allowed me to eat anything that could go through a straw. That being said, creamy soups really helped me. Just make sure you aren't eating any meat.

Here We Go
Laura, hang in there. I originally was rejected due to my surgeon being out of network. I finally got approved about 8 weeks later.

Tattoos!!
I have 4 tatoos and I'm really not too concerned. The only one I think might look funny is the one on my right thigh.

One week so why am I so hungry??
Hi April, basically your band isn't working right now because you don't have a fill. You need about 6 weeks before you get your first fill. Now is the time for healing and not weight loss. You will feel much better after you get a fill or 2. A lot of your hunger will be gone. Good luck.

3 Years Out...Disillusioned, frightened and ashamed-Any takers?
ABP, glad everything checked out for you. I hope you find out what is wrong with you soon.
-
Waiting time???
I had to wait 6 weeks for my first fill. Now they are only 2 weeks apart. Good luck.
-

Congrats on the birth of your baby. Great job only gaining 8 lbs. Way to go!

first fill
Hi Justine, my doctor typically has you do 1 day of liquids and 1 day of mushies. You should feel a bit of restriction. Sometimes, however the first fill tends to go away pretty fast. Don't be surprised if you have to go in for another fill soon. Mine makes you wait 2 weeks.

I'm new on here
Ash, that could totally be true. Its up to you whether or not you want your IUD out. I really hope you get the restriction you are looking for and that you can continue to lose the weight.

Full band...
Kynekke, do you have a slow leak? Does he remove all 2.5ccs when he does your fills?

Im a mess, I cant stop crying, Please help me
I went through a breakup last year. It has been 10 months now and I am finally feeling better about it. It takes time to put everything into perspective. Right now you need to take care of your health. That is the number one thing. Everything will be okay. Just let the tears come. I use to cry myself to sleep for months. I totally understand. We are here for you. Take care of yourself.
