  1. Just find a post that I have my name on it, click on my name, and wright on my wall. I'll get it. Shirley.
  2. Dave: That is exactly what I do. If I didn't,, It would be maybe 2 bites of food tops at each meal. If I tried to eat more, it would be like a Heart Attack..... It's just to sensitive. I stay between 800-1200 calories a day. So there is no problems with over eating. Shirley.
  3. I do 800-1200 cal. a day. That's with Good BBQ definitely in my diet. So it's there for you too.
  4. I wrote on your wall. So please get back on this. Shirley.
  5. Keep a pillow near buy, when you feel a cough or sneeze coming on, put the pillow over the incision, and push the pillow into the stomach area. Not to lite, and don't hurt yourself, so make it firm. This will lesson the pain that can turn into a Hernia. I'm surprised your Dr. didn't tell you about this... You will find the rite spot, and pressure for the coughing or sneezing. Hold it there for about 3 seconds after the sneeze. So that anything that got disturbed, is now settled. Hope you feel better, Shirley.
  6. I believe it's the surgeons choice. If they were all stitched to the stomach, pulled up and around them. You would have less Band Slippage. That's why mine told me he stitched it to the stretched over top part of the stomach, so I wouldn't have to worry about slippage. "JUST A LITTLE XTRA SOMETING FROM ME TO YOU, THIS IS SOMETHING THAT A LOT OF SURGEONS DON'T DO." Is what he told me. I thought GEE how did I get so lucky??? It felt like someone had grabbed me by the throat, and just kept squeezing 24/7. "YOU'LL GET USE TO IT!" Now I am glad he did. I got use to it, and that little 4cc band is doing just fine. That was almost 5 yrs. ago.
  7. Some people can remain sensitive for 6months to 1 year. It is surgery, and it takes the inside a lot longer to heal then the outside. Take it easy now for a couple days, try a Heating Pad or Ice. You will know wich one feels great, and no way with the other. Go with what's good. It took me at least 6 months to heal properly. You don't want to hurt yourself,,, so nice and easy for a while.
  8. Nothing like The Last Supper right? I know I did too... But then you get it together..
  9. it's that time of year for BBQ. Even though you shouldn't have those things now ! ! ! You did... So you scratched your itch. So get over it, and don't do it again. In time,,, you will be able to eat good BBQ. But not write now. So time to move on, and think about your surgery, and plans of what you have in the house for you to have, after surgery. You lost this weight in the first place, so you will go far if you stick to your plan. Good Health to you, Shirley.
  10. Well, start writing your questions for him down. If something pops into mind later on, just put it down too. You are entitled to your instructions, and your questions answered. So put your questions on paper, and save room for him to wright the answer down And we are always here, so someone can help out.
  11. Just for the asking... When do you go back to him, so you can have your questions written down like I did, and they were to be answered. And you bet they were. This was the only way that I got answers. I wish you luck on your plan to nail him to the cross.... He won't be expecting that. Other then that, you can get your answers here, people will help if they know the answers. Good Health To You, Shirley.
  12. :welldoneclap: I promise you things will get better ! Just take 1 day at a time, and it will go by. I know it's rough, just think about every thing that you had before, and stick to it. Shirley.
  13. I bet your glad that it's all done,
  14. What if it works for you ! That's what you should be thinking about. Are you ready to start a new life? That's what they asked me in the hospital. As soon as they got me in the Hallway, before they started to move me they asked me that, and I said YES ! The thought of that was FANTASTIC. What you don't see allot of on this site, are the people that have gone on and hit their goal, or are comfortable where they ended up at, and they don't come back for help on this site because it's not needed anymore. Everyone that I was banded with on 10/31/06 is gone ! They don't come back any, more. That is the flip side of the coin, the one you never hear about. So Good Health To You with your Surgery, and afterlife, Shirley.
  15. A good thing to remember, and make it a habit is: whenever they fill or unfilled you, you should go to liquids. if you don't,, you could swell up, and then you have to start on fluids. Are rule that works well is 3 days of Liquids, ! day mushies, then try food. Usually by this time, if you eat, you wont swell up. So keep this in mind, and I'm sure things could be easier for you.
  16. Congrats ! That is nice work... I believe you will do it, just keep plugging along. consistency is the key ! :welldoneclap:
  17. Drink warm Water (not COLD), it will either go down or come up. Hopefully go down. Once you feel it go threw, keep drinking a glass or two just to make sure your clear. Now what ever you do do not eat,,, your to swollen ! So stay on liquids for 3 days, then mushies for a day, then try food. You might think about a fill to kill your hunger. How long since you had one? Or is it Head Hunger? You know what it is,,,,, your not a newbie. So you need to deal with your problem. That is my surgeon's recipe for being stuck, and it works ! Even if 2 days go by, and you think your fine. don't eat ! You could swell rite back up. Hope you feel better, Shirley.
  18. Go up to your name and click on it, a drop down box will appear. Click om your profile. then look at the screen, and you will find BLOGS. Click on that and start to wright. Mine is under Topics. When i did mine 5 yrs. ago,,,,,, I didn't know what a BLOG was, "Really still don't So I journal-ed my information in, under Topics. Feel free to take a peek at it. Have Fun, Shirley.."
  19. I use to buy it at costco too. I found it just doesn't have the same kick for me. Hope it works for you. Shirley.
  20. Sure ! but not as Greasy as the theater has it. Try the Microwave in small packets.
  21. If You got it Flaunt it ! There is nothing wrong with success. You got banded for a reason, and it's paying off in Dividends. I know your feeling, but I have further to go. I'm only 5'3" so, I can't Waite for a year to go by. Congrats ! ! ! :tea: and Good Health to you, Shirley. :second:
  22. They have some really good cremes that are rated #1. That's what I used, up untill I had replacements. The aid even rubbed my knees for me when I had my LapBand done. She asked if this stuff really worked? I said yes ! So she wanted to know if she could write the name down for her Girlfriend, who has it in her back. I said be my guest. So I hope it worked for her,,
  23. Have you seen your surgeon lately.... That is a start, maybe they can figure it out.
