Emotional Roller Coaster
O don't worry You'll eat again, especially seafood. I think that goes down the easiest for me. Were in a League of our own ! So you have to understand that, no matter what they do, " even if they choose to eat like animals" You are now above that. Its off limits to you, and you have a special program to follow. They ! do not... So they can do what they want. Yes its inconsiderate of them, but thats life. Nothing you can do about them, so you have to think about how you want to deal with that. I had a similar problem, and I use to look at it as go ahead and kill yourself with kindness, while I keep working at getting into a smaller size. I was rite ! they all got bigger, while I got smaller.

Restaurant Choices?
Fish is always a good idea. It flakes instead of getting stuck. Just be careful, and take your time.

1 Wk Post Op And I've Already Cheated Several Times.....
People really aren't rude on this site or thread. They just give there opinions on what they know ! If you want to go against the Dr.'s Orders, then you tell him/her about it, and see what they say. But with surgery, you need time to heal, and your stomach is RAW, and has been put threw allot. "I UNDERSTAND YOUR HUNGRY" I even had something, because I felt like I was starving. Then it was back to the Basics for me. And I did take it up with my surgeon, who gave me a adjustment. But you have to learn control too. It will be up to you and your control to work this band, until you feel restriction.. That could be a while. Shirley.

Omg!!!! My Belly Itches Wicked Bad Helppppp!
I agree with elcee. Don't put anythin on those wounds unless your Dr. Prescribes something. You can shower, and warm water with some light soap will help clean the skin, and it will feel better to. But make sure you rinse all soap off.

Felt Something Pop
I'd call my Dr. on Monday. You might have popped a stitch ! You need to be careful you don't need to tear the port away from the muscle that its stitched to, or a Hernia. So take it easy. It's probably nothing but, call your Doc....

I Need Motivation.
I had to have my knees replaced from being morbidly obese. The Arthritis Shot both knees, it just ate them away, they honestly wondered if it was bone cancer.. It was not. I walk to the best of my ability., and I signed up to rent a Physical Rehabilitation's Gym. So I can use there equipment, and not hurt so much in the process. Call around and check into this. Allot of places are doing it for the money, and there is no contract at all. You might have to use your ins., just to get in the door, and then when there done working with you, you can sign up. I started this years ago, and I don't regret it at all. You asked for help, I just gave you the answer to your problem, because even people in there wheelchairs that can't walk, are getting up and walking with help, and in time they lose weight, and they get stronger. Feel Free to send me a message. would be glad to help. Been there ! trust me ! Shirley.

Getting Very Down...ready To Cry....
This is Normal in the Healing Process. I gained weight, and was told it was fluid protecting the injured area, and it would come of. I thought the Dr. was crazy, but,,, he was rite on the money. Your only job now is to heal. The weight loss will start eventually. Once it really starts to come of, theres no stopping it. You came this far ! So give yourself a full blown chance.

I Got A Slight Unfill And I'm Still So Tight...
My point exactly ! It takes time for this band to relax. So in the meantime, if you don't open up tell the afternoon. just do liquids, when things get a little better, try a small amount of mushies. It will come along.

Failed Lap Band!!!!
I too had some major problems with a Chief Surgeon at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. All the weight that I lost, I had regained do to Bad Aftercare "Same As You". So I found another Surgeon and was filled under Fluoroscope, and turned out that the band worked. Give yourself a chance, and see how this really can work, before getting cut up. Your not a failure, your Dr. was one though ! So get yourself corrected, and then filled. You will be amazed at the difference that this band makes when its working. You know what its like to have no gas in the tank and stay on empty rite? It can be miserable, and aggravating. The band works on the same principle, no Fluid, no restriction.. Get some fluid in that band, and it will work. Also a flipped port is a easy repair. They can even put it where they are comfortable with it. Lot of different spots to stitch that too. So Good Luck, and don't throw the towel in yet. Shirley.

Addicted To The Scale
I'll give my 2 cents on this one. I was addicted to the scale too, watching it go up and down use to drive me crazy. I told my surgeon about my hang up, "I thought I was doing the rite thing.." and he told me. Throw the Damn thing out ! and only count the weight when your weighed at the Dr.'s Office. I couldn't believe it... Then he told me that since they weigh people all day long, that every day or other day, a person comes in and calibrates them so they can be accurate, and you can't do that at home and be accurate. So you will always get a different read out. I weighed myself 3 times and went with the numbers that came up twice. If they were different all 3 times, I just said forget this and gave up. Also I went threw about 3 different scales in this process, and the problem was still there. Also never weigh yourself on carpeting, it has to be a flat floor. So I hung on to it for a while, then in discus t I threw it out. I only got weighed at the Dr.'s Office, and sure enough,, I started to see weight loss. To this day,, I don't own one.... If you insist on weighing yourself do it in the morning, and drop your bath robe, and get weighed, but do this once a week. Pick a day like Monday, and see what you lost or didn't. I go by my cloths size also..

Everything Is Lining Up Perfectly...but Only One Hurdle Is Preventing Me To Go Forward (Help !!!)
There both good bands but, allot of people think it just wraps around the top of the stomach and thats it. It gets filled and your on your way... Not necessarily so ! Mine is stitched in place. I will describe this, the reason is to prevent slippage. This is more common in Europe which is were my Surgeon learned the Technique. They put the band around the upper part of the stomach, then pull the stomach up and threw the band, and over the side, and stitch it all the way around by going up, and down, and around. Then hopefully the band will not slip. You should ask your surgeon if this method is used if you are concerned about which one will do a better job. This does help me. Most people do not have this done, and they are fine with there band, on the other hand some suffer a slip, and somehow it has to be taken care of. Now your going to Mexico for surgery. Who is going to take you on for your aftercare here. A slip is major, and if you have the band just slapped in "by the way it's a implant, not a big deal at all." You better have someone who can take care of you. Now when I was banded NO ONE would touch the Realize Band. So if you go with that, make sure your surgeon will take care of that type of band. Research instead of thinking. It's a Implant that will be your tool to work ! Do your research, ask questions to your Dr., and get answers to written down questions that you can keep, and learn from. With all your info asked, and answered. You can make your Choice. Hope this Helps ! I hope its not Full Contact Sports Like Football, Boxing Karate etc... You will only get your tubing broke or your port kicked in, and if the balloon in the band is filled, so is your tubing filled. If you got your port pushed in it could send the Water up to the balloon and cause it to burst. Think about what your doing o.k.... Shirley !

Bansters Hell
No ! not during bandster hell, because you have no fill. It's like trying to blow up a tire that is 1/2 off the Rim. So your probably fine. Just try to start learning better habits, and don't let your Head get the better of you. I know it's hard, very hard. But you have to try to hang in there. If you must eat something make sure its Low Cal, also High Protein helps. Just a few ideas, hope this helps. Shirley.

Quick Question
DITTO ! You have one smart DOC.... I have been doing that for years.. Just figure out your protein, and calories per meal, and your good to go ! Eating Dry is to hard for me to do, it's not natural. So a sip here, and there never hurt.

Riddle Me This Batman..
A small fill should help lock it in place. Stay on fluids for a few days do to possible swelling, and be careful chew, chew, chew small pieces.

Oh Boy Oh Boy I Wish
Your use to seeing you.. Go by your cloths size, and you will know if your shrinking or not. Sometimes thats better then the scale.

Emotional Rollercoaster...anyone Else?
Just a thought here. When were Obese are Hormones are all out of Whack ! Mine were too, with weight loss they went back in place. So if you realize this is a normal process, it does make it easier. We were taught this at our seminar. Just my Opinion ! Shirley

Fills- Need Advice And Information
Nice Job on the WL ! When you tell your Surgeon that your starving, he'll give you one. He won't want you to be to uncomfortable. I don't know what size your band is, but allot of times, it takes time to get to the rite fill level. So be patient, it comes with time..
